Below is an article that Nigeria Defence Headquaters published about an hour ago, calling an article shared by Saturday Vanguard about the missing chibok girls, not only misleading but is once again another unconscionable outing as there is no iota of truth in its entirety, hence should be disregarded.

RE: CHIBOK GIRLS ALIVE; MANY IMPREGNATED BY BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS… ESCAPEE CHIBOK GIRL REVEALS
The attention of the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has been drawn to the above caption published in the Media claiming one of the Chibok girls who escaped from terrorists’ captivity was handed to the military post in Baga. The spurious report by the Vanguard is not only misleading but is once again another unconscionable outing as there is no iota of truth in its entirety, hence should be disregarded.

In as much as the Nigerian military and other security agencies are working round the clock to secure the release of not only the Chibok girls but other innocent citizens who are held hostage by the terrorist, it will not give in to misleading reports which has no true source as we have repeatedly pledged to inform the Nigerian publics on the true situation on our ongoing operations.

The sensitive nature of this report notwithstanding, the moral justification for this false publication cannot be substantiated. Like other well meaning Nigerians, friends of Nigeria and the international community who showed concern for the plight of the abducted girls, the Nigerian military also being a component of the society, is equally worried and is doing everything possible to address the current security challenges.

The search for abducted Chibok school girls and the rescue of other Nigerian in hostage has never relapse as could be attested to in recent times where hundreds of women and children were rescued by the military through its coordinated operations. The military has and will continue to sustain the operation until the entire North East is cleared of all terrorists and miscreants.

The DHQ is not unmindful of the media’s good intention in this regards however, we wish to advise reporters and any other stakeholders to be good partners in ensuring their safe rescue and successful termination of terrorists campaign. We also urge journalist to be cautious of reporting such issues and by extension, security and defence related matters.

According to DQ, over 100 Boko Haram members were killed.

BOKO IN DESPERATE LAST BATTLE

Boko Haram Terrorists made a futile attempt on 120 Task Force Battalion troops located at Goniri, Yobe State, but the Nigerian troops successfully repelled the attacked and inflicted heavy casualty on the invading terrorists as they were all killed. On the last count over 100 terrorists bodies were seen. However, 7 of our gallant soldiers paid the supreme price defending our fatherland, while 1 officer and 8 soldiers were wounded in action.

Size-able arms, ammunition and other equipment from the terrorists, these include 1 General Purpose Machine Gun, 2 Rocket Propelled Grenades, 9 AK-47 rifles and Belted rounds of 7.62 (NATO) ammunition. Others were various wires used for Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), 7 Primed IEDs, different types of Spanners and a Torch Light.

In a related development, troops of 21 Brigade on patrol from Bama to Ngurosoye, destroyed the terrorists camps in the axis. Troops came across some of the terrorists hideouts that also served as fabricating area for IEDs and the terrorists’ training area. Another patrol along Bama-Kawuri axis discovered and exhumed IEDs and wires for detonation.

3 BOKO HARAM COLLABORATORS ARRESTED

Please recall that a Boko Haram financier, fund raiser and stimulant supplier, Mohammed Maina was arrested by troops of 21 Brigade. The arrested terrorist has been making very useful statements and lending more insights in the activities of the terrorists and their collaborators.
This has been yielding positive results and as a follow up today, 3 collaborators; Jikana Alhaji Goni, aged 29 years of Hausari Ward Maiduguri, Alhaji Musa Alhaji Modu, also of Hausari Ward Maiduguri, 37 years and Alhaji Aba'ana Na Alhaji Sule aged 40, of Hausari Ward Maiduguri were arrested and are being interrogated.
