I don't know about this Twitter guy but, if my father was just a mere Warrant officer in the Nigerian army, I'd be ashamed to show him off. A part of me will even be happy that Boko Haram took him with them.

Imagine!
A retired soldier couldn't even defend himself.
The robber didn't hold a gun, just ordinary broken bottle.

Imagine if this soldier is sent to sambisa to fight boko boys.

For soldiers to be in the same level with the civilians government had to change this
from one year training to 9months from 9months to 6months now three months
while area boys are fighting every day training them selves
a soldiers trains for 3months and relax maybe after a year ot two months or more they might have forgotten what the leant before they will go

Good idea but the question is,since National defence academy (NDA)is in Kaduna, police University which most people dont even know about is in Kano,police staff college is in Jaji near Jos in Plateau state,the mobile police training camp is already in Gwosa maidugari and almost every other military academy is in the north,why not site this one in the south or does situating military academy in the south pose security threat to Nigeria?

What's with d copying of military unit appellations, SEAL, SBS...... and to think both are used within same military organization.

Can't they coin their own unique tags for specialist military units? Truly d policy crafters in this country are so mentally lazy...

There's what you call, consolidated armed forces pay structure. The salary is the same but there are other allowances that are due to each personnel. For the Army, there is bush allowance, hazard allowance, furniture allowance, parking allowance, Ration cash allowance and so on. None of this allowances is being paid in fact most soldiers are not even aware that they are entitled to this allowances .In the Navy, you have the Sea going allowance(for sailors serving on board a sea going vessel), diving allowance, Ration cash allowance, Lodging allowance(because of lack of accommodation),Transport allowance, Course Allowance and So on,but only a few is being paid. the Air Force has what you call Air Allowance, hazard Allowance, Admin Allowance, Ration Cash Allowance etc. I would say generally, personnel of the Nigerian Air force enjoy a great deal, because of the well furnished accommodation and a number of allowances they receive. Officers of the Nigerian Navy get more because of the Navy is the most expensive arm of the armed forces. Well, personnel are being robed of their entitlement despite the nature of the job. That is why lately, the clamor by personnel of the armed forces of Nigeria to be enrolled into the federal Government integrated personnel payroll information system has gained momentum. if that is in place, the entire bureaucratic system will be abolished and the pay of personnel will come directly from the fed Govt. Though the leadership of the military is not so cool with this development because that is where they get the money to live the flamboyant live style they are use to and to settle their god fathers in and out of service. But it must prevail. Thats the little i know, thank You.

I know. That is not the problem. The problem is that Nigeria doesn't have a strong army. Any army that delights in flexing muscles on and oppressing defenseless civilians will find it almost impossible to face and conquer any armed group, Idi Amin and Saddam can testify to that. Also besides firing long range missiles, carrying out aeriel bombardment and hiding behind big armoured vehicles, our army can't do shit! If the Chadian army decides, they can overrun Nigeria in less than a week.

my long time called it teenage friend is a full lieutenant in Nigerian Army under MP (military police red barret wearers)
my uncle is a colonel and trust me I hate this my uncle now for nearly pushing me into NDA years ago after my SSCE/Jamb not that i don't like the military then infact it was a dream for me but i hate him for nearly converting me to a monster that kills innocent people anyhow.
and i thank God that my instinct guided me well

back to my lieutenant friend do you know that on that day army massacred civilians in Aba
i didn't pick his calls nor reply his whatsapp messages i just gave a lame excuse that i was sick though that's true because the massacre made me sick i later told him that i do like him now as my old childhood friend and am seeing him with Same eyes i use to see him when we go to school together and do most things together
i told him that i can't just hate him just like i do to army now because we're best friends before he entered the army.

though with his position and status as a lieutenant in the army those who knew our friendship took trouble far away from me infact trouble was running away from me because find my trouble and see those heartless privates or cadets deal with you on his order

but now i handle my problem myself and my way because i can't just call him for help again.

that's how much i hate the army now
