chigoziri7:Happy belated birthday dear. I do not think those qualifications are below a degree, if they were, they won't be requesting for degree transcript. Remember that applications are different. Where's someone else may be denied based on 'purpose of visit' with such circumstance, another may not be denied. The answer I think lies in the strength of your SOP. Can you convince the VO beyond reasonable doubt that this qualification is what your career needs at this time? |
chigoziri7:Awwww, now I feel like changing school |
kennykolabo:You mustn't do ECG. I don't know how the different consultants decide on what to test for. Here in PHC Prime Consultants didn't conduct any ECG for me. I paid 30k and had xray, physical examinations (height, weight, bp), urinalysis and blood tests ( on the lab request form I was given to pass on to the lab guys I saw HIV, VDRL). That's all! No vision test, no ECG. |
CoCoLav:Tips like these are invaluable. I've been wondering where to even get correct winter jackets in Naija since we no get winter. I was already perusing Amazon to buy and ship down Still looking for any female student-parent going to uOttawa to share a cosy apartment with or if you're single and won't mind a toddler's presence we can also share. |

Holu26:Provided the documents are speaking of funds, they should all be under proof of financial support. |
afolaseg:Her moniker says she's a lady ![]() |
Chavyz:Team12's posts will do justice to your questions. I followed her posts closely cos we both have toddlers we need to travel with. I patterned my application like hers, upront medicals, budget breakdowns to include kid and leaving hubby behind to join later. I got my TRV in 12work days of applying. Go read up...good luck! |
jejeman:Go through the previous pages especially part 8, you'll find details of the procedure for upfront medicals. Team12 simplified it so well, you won't miss anything. Note to TRV hopefuls, if something is worth doing then it's worth your time and dedication. When you're advised to go through the previous pages of this thread, it's not like one wants to punish and make others suffer. If you're a prospective student, then searching and researching for information should be a part of you. No one wants to throw money away paying application and biometric fees only to be rejected or delayed because of a shoddy application. If time is not on your side, then let it go, target next admission session and put forward a quality and credible application before fasting and praying. |
berexio1:they send both hard copy by post and soft copy by mail attachment. If applying online then no need for the hard copy. Don't know if photocopies can be used for paper submission. |
adeoluwaeboni:They should have sent a hard copy of your acceptance letter to your postal addy you indicated while applying to the school. If by any means that copy disappeared en-transit, you can write the academic assistant to print another original copy but this time you'll have to arrange for a courier agent to pick it up from the school and send to Naija for you. I did same and got it within a week. I'm also heading to uOttawa. |
Joe980:Are there compulsory vaccinations one is expected to have at POE? |
Joe980:Ok noted! Thanks. Are you schooling at uOttawa? |
chigoziri7:I think you're good to go. Your portfolio is tight so your SOP's quality won't be a problem. I prefer HR anyday anytime and you can study in French as already said. |
@thesoj, thanks for the detailed explanation. Yeah I'm aware I'll be paying fees for the summer session if I register to take courses therein. My program is charged a flat fee per session no matter the number of courses registered provided one remains within the limits min 6 credit unit - max 15credit units/session. I'll plan to limit my program to 3sessions. So I might take the summer break and finish by 2017 Winter. Fair enough, I'll go ahead and drop one course from my already registered four courses to see how I can cope with 3courses and an accompanying toddler. moreover, winter is coming ![]() |
thesoj:Speaking of sessions, I need more advise. From the little I know about Canadian academic structure, Winter - January to April Spring/Summer- May to August Fall- September to December I have registered for Winter session and plan to take courses for Summer and Fall. So when is my break supposed to be? And if you say summer semester is optional, what will someone be doing for the entire period of four months May-August? My program requiresI take minimum 30credit load for completion, can I handle that in a year instead of 2yrs? Can taking more credit load within the shortest possible time reduce my tuition in any way (say, I'm capable to bear the load and still perform well)? |
Babalola1990:It's not the result you need to upload, it's just a document that says you've done your medicals. So if you want to do the upfront medicals, ask them for that document after your tests have been conducted and upload it before submitting your application. Note that for you to have a tab for the medical upload, you must have answered YES to the question not he questionnaire '. Have you been examined by a CIC medical assessor I. The last 12months?' |
ajaereogechi:Congratulations! More goodnews on the way... |
boboyi247:Mine is $6942 just tuition for winter session. For one year I simply rounded up to 7000 and multiplied by three sessions(winter+summer+fall). |
berexio1:I studied Elect/Elect. Engineering. Going for Engineering Management. |
Ajibade105:MEng is considered a professional qualification and no one gives scholarships nor any form of funding for it. To the best of my knowledge. |
hayqinsbFX:He used company mail. |
chigoziri7:You welcome. To register a child to attend a government licensed day care, you find the website of the province you intend to study at, create an account in your child's name and register. Since I'm still in Naija, I used my school/faculty address. Then from that portal you'll be presented with a list of child care centers very close to your institution. You can then click apply on the ones that appeal to you. When a slot becomes available you'll be contacted. |
Yes no statement of purpose but your CV is requested as well as letters of recommendation. Cocolav is right they don't just look at CGPA. With my 4.18, I've had 5years field engineering experience and with one good letter of recommendation from my undergraduate supervisor and another recommendation from my supervisor at work. It's a total package. So just seek areas where your strength lies and portray on your CV. hayqinsbFX: |
fatanu:I'll advise that you shouldn't base your application on hearsay. Create your CIC account, build your profile and answer the questionnaire to see what forms and fields that will be populated, then you can know how to group related documents in a field. Don't worry if you change your mind about any upload you can always remove the file and reattach. They're all editable (even the questionnaire) until you submit and make payment. I strongly recommend you go through parts 6-9 (if you don't have the time you can skim for info that pertains to you). There's good information on this thread. After reading and you still have grey areas, then you can revert here for clarification. |
Oyin18:4.18/5.00 |
ikem01:What was your mode of submission? |
xtus:You should send to the place where you did you biometrics. |
boboyi247:On my acceptance letter, Tuition plus living cost was estimated to be 37,000CAD Per annum. Per session tuition only is 7k. When you add ancillary, incidentals comes up to 8kplus CAD. |
chigoziri7:Thanks Chigoziri. My girl will also be turning 2 next year. When you're ready to apply, while filling the initial questionnaire, you'll need to state that your child will accompany you, that you will pay for her application charges, that you'll fill her forms on her behalf and the application will generate all the forms you both need for the app. Your child's status will be as a visitor. The first thing to do once you decide which province you'll be schooling at is to register your baby on the central wait list for licensed child care (that's if you'll be needing a day care). The queue is usually very long and sometimes it takes up to a year before it gets to your turn. I didn't do that and now I'll have to make do with alternate means. |
kingmapping84:Means you're on a good path, CIC is ok with the outcome of your medical result. Since you submitted online and have done your biometrics, next should be passport request. |
ralfudoh:Prime Consultants in PortHarcourt charges 30k |
but you will survive. The worst is yet to come because it gets to -35 degrees. For those coming to Uottawa, I would advise you dont buy winter jackets, gloves and all that in Naija cos the free store has more than enough plus theres value village which would probably give you at the same price you would have bought in Naija with all those greedy traders that want to milk you dry. You should buy your thermal wear from Naija though (just make sure you price it well because those people!
