Yay! My application has been approved. My toddler and I. UOttawa MEng Jan 2016 Upfront Medicals. Online application submitted 26th Biometrics 29th September Passport Request 8th October Passport sent 12th October Approval 15th October 12 work days in all. Thanks to you all that have contributed to this thread in one way or the other. Special thanks to Team12, I never contacted you but knowing we have similar circumstances I followed your posts closely. Wishing all TRV hopefuls same success stories. Just put in your best in your application and leave the rest to God. While packaging your application, put yourself in the position of a VO and give detailed explanation and support documents to answer any question/clarification you think they may need. Time to go search for accommodation and alternate child care center. The waitlist seems to be on snail speed. What flights are cheap with shorter layovers? 14 Likes |

chigoziri7: Thanks to the veterans of this thread, I learnt every from them. OSWP is open spouse work permit. He can work while you study. once you get yours and baby's then he can apply for his. It reduces the risk of outright refusal for the entire family. Send a PM via my profile and we take it from there. 1 Like |

gabrola: All these scopes you guys are sharing here are you sure it won't turn around to bite? What if...a VO snoops around to know what applicants discuss on forums and gets to know about this cheat? What if another nairalander applies same and then it backfires, we start firing prayers. My little advice, try getting a genuine co-sponsor to boost your funds or defer your admission till next year so that your monthly income builds up your fund. 4 Likes |

obiscolly: Can you check on NIPOST website for the post code of that area and try to use it. If that doesn't work, let's talk on PM maybe I can help. |

obiscolly: Zip/postal code isn't necessary if it wasn't used in the person's bank account. I'll suggest you log into the bank account, under account info, copy the exact address as it is in the online banking platform or account statement print out. |

uksconsult: Though not directed at me, I think you should apply with just your son so hubby can be a strong home tie (I did same). Then when your application is successful, hubby can apply to come visiting. for your spouse you can apply for th OSWP to enable him work while in Canada. Team12 has Done the OSWP, she can guide you. |

thesoj:I like the stand you guys are taking on the application. Transparency, goes a long way in these visa applications. It makes things easier for the VOs and who knows he/she might reward you for that. 1 Like |

judnele: @Lamama1, on the contrary, you can create a CIC account even when you applied by paper route to track your application. I have an FSW application in the pipeline which was by paper submission and we were able to create a CIC account, put in UCI and track same. Give it a try, it will reduce the anxiety. Modified: sorry for the misinformation, study permit applicants can't track online. Here's the link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp?s=6 |

annikanyi: I will be in uOttawa by January 2016, God willing. My dear trust me you don't need an agent for your application. All you need is patience to go through these threads. I didn't know jack about visa applications because my company had consultants who handled all business trips, but now on my own I had to spend hours going through these threads at night. Make notes and then come back here if you need clarification on any issue. 4 Likes |

If I may say, this thread is badly being derailed with all these admission questions and TRV yarns. Let's be more civilised and adhere to the topic. One comes in here to read up survival scopes and some peep are here asking can I be admitted with 2:2. It's soo annoying a beg! You guys should take your admission and TRV questions to the other tread and have them tackled promptly. Please let's keep the survival talk going. Where to buy cheap stuff, affordable accommodation, how to manage finances, how to network with better people for the future. So my own question is I hope to get in for winter session in Uottawa. I will be accompanied by my toddler and need if possible a single bedroom apartment (which isn't common from the sites I've checked). Is it possible to share say a 3bed apartment with other students alongside my toddler? Has anyone seen such practice? 14 Likes |

obiscolly: I saw this same 149.46 when I wanted to run my budget, but I added a markup and worked with 153 instead. I stated this on my cost breakdown. Just tried to be reasonable. Some bank rates are way too outrageous. 1 Like |

Hello house, I want to apply via online route. Under which category can I upload my academic documents WAEC, Neco, Transcripts, NYSC, CV. Should I put them all under LOE? Will appreciate a prompt response. If I consider paper route, can I do my biometrics same day I go to VAC to submit my application? |

I need clarification from ladies that have applied for study visa with accompanying kids. Did you have to pay for visiting visa for your child? Or showed proof of fee exemption? My daughter is almost 2yrs and will be accompanying me. Team12 and co...to the rescue... |
