Concordia university is a good school. The people I know who are studying there are in degree programs though. There are NLers there too. Do a search like @thesoj suggested msybe you would find someone completing a graduate diploma there.

Did you do upfront medicals? If yes, then you've to upload your proof of medicals while applying online. If you haven't done medicals, skip that section.

My candid advice:

Take your time. Don't rush to apply.
You can focus on gaining admission and work towards fall 2016. From my observation, there's desperation written all over your application, and even though it's the case with many applicants, the key to a successful application is to keep that desperation well hidden.

When you are ready to apply, be honest and clear in your application. It is true that they share information but you can find favor if you put up a clear, straightforward application.

It's not the result you need to upload, it's just a document that says you've done your medicals. So if you want to do the upfront medicals, ask them for that document after your tests have been conducted and upload it before submitting your application. Note that for you to have a tab for the medical upload, you must have answered YES to the question not he questionnaire '. Have you been examined by a CIC medical assessor I. The last 12months?'

I have registered for Winter session and plan to take courses for Summer and Fall. So when is my break supposed to be? And if you say summer semester is optional, what will someone be doing for the entire period of four months May-August?
My program requiresI take minimum 30credit load for completion, can I handle that in a year instead of 2yrs? Can taking more credit load within the shortest possible time reduce my tuition in any way (say, I'm capable to bear the load and still perform well)?

Summer semester is an optional semester in most schools/programs and is usually when most students take an academic break. Some use the opportunity to get an internship, some use it to get a side job, some use it to spend all their time on research (for mostly PhD and research masters students), some take courses, etc. CIC considers summer to be a scheduled break (unless you commenced your program in the summer session) for international students, during which you can work full-time if you choose to.

Having said that, if you want to finish your program really quickly, then taking a full course load during summer is a great idea.

About reducing tuition costs... this part is a bit tricky. Taking courses during summer won't reduce your tuition given that schools either charge per course (per credit hour/unit) or per semester. If your school charges a flat tuition fee per semester, then you conceivably could take as many courses as possible in every given semester (i.e. in Fall and Winter); the caveat is you might be too overloaded to do well in any of the classes. In summary, taking courses during summer won't reduce your tuition because you will still have to pay for every course you take that term. @montrealer any additions?

To your last question, if you take 9 credits/semester for two semesters and 12 credits in the third semester, then yes you could finish your program in one year (Winter-Summer-Fall). Keep in mind though that graduate courses, depending on the program, can be intense with lots of reading and assignments. Four courses (i.e. 12 credits) might be a lot for one semester, but it is definitely very doable. Btw, 9 credits per semester (three courses) is considered a normal load for a graduate student.

Fair enough, I'll go ahead and drop one course from my already registered four courses to see how I can cope with 3courses and an accompanying toddler. moreover, winter is coming

How many courses are u doing? It is usually 8 courses, so 3 courses per semester can still suffice. Bt if u intend to finish in a year, then marathon for you, u won't have any breaks..I know of sb who finished in a year, bt all na book, no work!

hello house, I have been reading and I have not seen any answer to the situation...the schools i applied to do not require IELTS or any standardized test for that matter....But i read that the score in IELTS adds 'points' to application (google) has anyone tried this and worked? i mean not done IELTS and still got the visa? I downloaded the forms today and there was a place asking if one has written any test?

I am already thinking of how to write it before the year runs out...please advice!

I am of the same predicament, I submitted on the 5th Aug to resume sept but i had to defer for Jan 2016 till date I hvnt gotten any medical call yet. from my tracking number which contains CAAB in it, I learnt it means my application is bin processed here in Lagos. So do I still do a case special enquiry? Tho the processing time in Lagos Nigeria is 41 weeks.. getting fed up and rethinking..

Given that you submitted on Aug 5th, there was little chance that you would have gotten your TRV before your Sept 8th resumption date. Average processing time is 8 weeks, though your application has been in processing for ten and half weeks now. Because your application processing has exceeded the average processing time, you can do a case specific enquiry. Anyways, there's nothing supremely abnormal about the slow processing of your application.
