13th Headies: Burna Boy Makes History As Organisers Announce Nominees (Full List)

Organisers of The Headies, arguably Nigeria’s most prestigious music awards, on Tuesday announced the nominees for the 13th edition of the awards, with Burna Boy racking 10 nominations – the highest in the history of the music gathering.
Headies reports that Burna Boy, by virtue of his nominations, beat Olamide’s record of seven nominations in the 2015 edition of the awards.

For the Artiste of the Year category, Burna Boy has been nominated alongside Wizkid, Davido, and Tiwa Savage.

Burna Boy, Teni Makes MTV 2019 EMAs Award nomination list

African Giant and international Afrofusion singer Burna Boy, and star Afropop singer, Teni have been nominated at the MTV EMAs 2019 award ceremony.

The two music stars have been recognized by MTV for the European Music Awards this year.


Burna Boy and Teni will contend against other African artists like South Africa’s Nasty C, Harmonize of Tanzania, Toofan from Togo and Prince Kaybee of South Africa for the Best African Act category.

The award ceremony will be held at the FIBES Conference and Exhibition Centre in Seville, Andalusia, Spain on Sunday, 3rd of November

Iconic Nigerian singers, Burna Boy, Teni and Adekunle Gold top list of nominees for the 2019 Headies’ Award, a ceremony that recognises outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry.

The organisers on Tuesday released the list of the 13th music award with this year’s edition themed ‘The Power of A Dream’.According to the organiser, the names were released after shortlisting of thousands of entries submitted in the year under review (from January 2018 – June 2019).

Burnaboy, Rema, Joeboy and Fireboy will battle for viewers choice award this year alongside song of the year category.
