suwailad: I've been seeing a lot of t.v shows lately and i'm kinda preferring it to cinema movie. but some shows have weird acting and woeful plot and storyline. some are so boring that you just feel sorry for who made the show and some get cancelled after some episodes. among a growing list these are the most boring shows i've watched and dont watch it if you dont ant to get bored...

Typically, I don't binge on new TV shows until they are more than 5 episodes. I like continuity. I've had my eyes on "The Strain" for a while when FX announced that they will be debuting "Something different" this July after the season finale of Fargo. I love FX, they are pretty good at anthropological TV series if "Fargo" and "American Horror Story" success stories were anything to go by. So, when the trailer came out, I watched it on YouTube, and I liked what I'd seen. It showed glimpses of post-apocalypse Earth, the world in Chaos, and Zombie-like blood suckers on the loose.

Then when it premiered last week, faithful to my formula, I ignored it cuz I've already decided to wait after the 5th week to binge. Then came the hype. People started gushing about the show all over the place, how it's better than "The Walking Dead", how it's a true vampire TV show... blah blah blah. I tried to resist the curiosity, but I finally succumbed to the pressure last night and decided to see what the hype's all about. I watched the premiere online and... it was disappointing.

I've seen great shows, the type that kept you at the edge of your seat and made you craving for more of the same after each closing credits, "The Strain" isn't one of them. I nearly dozed off watching it and believe me, that doesn't happen to me when I watch a particularly good show.

From what I've been able to garner from the pilot, the plot holes are already significant.
-First one: "This is very serious, we have ourselves a dead plane" - Bishop. How the fvck did he arrive suddenly at that assumption? Okay, maybe the plane's cold on the outside, but what about the inside? For all I know it might have been a hostage situation on board.

-2nd One: Releasing of the 4 survivors was a plot mistake. In the real world, CDC were very meticulous and careful and would never have allowed those survivors to leave in less than 36 hours. 5 days quarantine is the minimum isolation time to determine effectively that the subjects in question ain't a danger to the general populace. Allowing them to suddenly go bordered on unrealism and a lil' bit of desperation. You see, the next chapter of the storyline depends on the freedom of the survivors.

-3rd One: Government Conspiracy and Cover-ups stealing the spotlight. Right now, I can't tell if the show's a political, Horror or mystery drama series. The Federal Government feeding the public a made up crap concerning the ill-fated airplane most certainly put it within the political and mystery ballpark.

-4th One: More than 200 people died on that plane. You can't simply explain away your problems when the families of the deceased can still perform their own autopsies whenever they gained access to their loved one bodies. Huge gaping plot hole right here.

There are 2 others that I'll not be addressing just yet till they aired the next episode.

Bottom Line: It's still early days, so maybe all these plot holes will be addressed and fixed, but for now, this show is nothing but a piece of crap.

RayMcBlue: @mr.drizzy: Like I said earlier, I would have liked Teen Wolf had it been I were 5 years younger. There's no denying the fact it's an exciting series... for young adults. It's something that I can watch in idle amusement to pass the time as I wait for something better... just like I does with Tom and Jerry Cartoon series or the Simpsons.

Forgive me for saying this but I can't help but look down on any programme, be it feature film or TV shows that originates from the CW and MTV. You see, these 2 channels strictly targets teen audience, most especially the CW.

What is the CW? It's a teen Channel that was formed from the stables of Times Warner group (Owners of NBC, Universal Inc, MTV, Walt Disney Inc and Nickelodeon) and CBS. The channel's main aim is produce shows that can satisfy young adults. Shows like the Originals, Reigns, Beauty and the Beast, and Arrow are not something one can watch and pick some memorable quotes from. The writers are not as well paid as their counterparts that writes for adult channels like HBO, Showtime, Netflix and FX.

Ever wondered why a show - even the CW's Supernatural - from the CW and MTV has never won the prestigious Emmy and Golden Globe awards but usually walks home with the kiddies Choice awards? Ever wondered why? Mull on that.

A show with no memorable quotes, no profanities, no crass humour, no nudîty, and too many CGI's to cover up other shortcomings doesn't interest me at all. I can watch it, sure, but it's not something I can open up a fan page and gush about.

ChrisCosmo: that's why a 4 man defence formation is not advisable when playing a against a quick counter opponent, the two full backs tend to move forward to support the wingers leaving only the central backs thereby creating a loophole in the defence, a three man defence and crowded midfield is a good strategy.

RayMcBlue: I beg to differ. Not even a guilty pleasure, Black Sails is arrrrrr-estingly good! Alliances are made and broken, power shifts go this way and that, blood is spilled, and wenches keep wenching. It's highly addictive. Visually, it's very appealing, and chock full of the all profanities and vulgarity you'd expect from a Pay cable channel.

NBC's Crossbones fall flat by comparison. I don't care much for a censored Pirate show, no matter how mild.

RayMcBlue: Have seen the premiere and the 2nd episode, then lost interest. Couldn't stack up to the standards set by it's direct competitor, Starz's Black Sails.

VillageBoi: Anyone catch the very brand new 'The Strain'? It's just one episode in that was 90mins... seems it's gonna be pretty darn good.

Also new is 'Extant'

RayMcBlue: Dude, go and upgrade your taste, there are many shows out there that are way better than those childish things (with the exception of Spartacus and 24) on your list. And BTW, Movies and TV series ain't the same. Hollywood is the American Movie Industry that is solely responsible for the production of Movies, while Television channels -Cable and Network - are solely the architects of TV Shows, a Television genre that was originally invented purely for commercial purpose, in other words, Network and Cable Channels use the medium to sell the products of their respective sponsors. That's why TV shows comes with commercial breaks.

Get your facts right and quit coming off like a Juvenile that just started watching TV shows.

RayMcBlue: You took the word right out of my mind. The American is one of those shows that flies under the radar, not because it ain't good - it's darn good - but because mostly the showrunners failed to market it properly to the audience. Most often than not, the season trailer advertising what to expect from the show, ends up blowing cold and the subsequently season premiere mediocre at best.

Sons Of Anarchy, Gang Related and The Americans are probably 3 of the hottest show on TV right now that not a lot of people are watching.

tuagbo: I was glad when the character "Brody" was killed off "Homeland."Now,Damian Lewis(the actor that played "Brody" can stop embarassing himself by being on such a crappy show.Yes,season three of "Homeland" was garbage.It looks to me,the show only had two good seasons in it.Such a shame a once great show completely fell off the tracks in such a short period of time.

yoji: The first installment was ok, but dragged in certain parts but could be excused since it was d first in the series. The latest however had no such problems as despite it being almost 3hrs, you wouldn't notice as something was happening all the time. HOWEVER the problem with this second installment is that you never got the sense that they were in any real danger throughout. How can 15 or so dwarves undergo that kind of your 'supposedly' dangerous adventure and the closest fatality was a thigh injury to one of them that still got treated. 1 or 2 of the dwarves should have died en route. It felt more like a video game than a movie
