Those looking at submitting certificates to WES electronically, i got this response from WES

"Hello, submitting the documents electronically also applies to applicants wanting an evaluation for IRCC immigration. If your institution uses ETX-NG, you may provide WES with access to your electronic academic documents. Go to wes.etx.ng and click on the appropriate electronic academic request form and follow the steps. ETX-NG facilitates the electronic transmission of academic documents from your institution to WES. Applicants with a valid WES reference number can see the full list of institutions or universities that work with ETX-NG. To view this list, go to wes.etx.ng, click on the appropriate electronic academic request form, validate your WES reference number, go to the form section, and click on the drop-down field institution."

ETX gets a lot of bad rep, has anyone here used their service without hiccup?

I'm considering following this approach to my transcripts from Unilorin.

The only problem with this is that you have to wait till September before you can take the exam. You can only take the exam twice a year( March and September) and the certificate takes another 2 months although it's cheaper and the pass mark is 40/120 + it's theory only

September is still very far away!

Yep, the timeline is main reason I'm considering going with CIMA instead. Just waiting for confirmation on the price for CIMA.

Sorry for the confusion, I was supposed to register first, then I would be contacted in 24 hrs by CIMA.

I figured that out so I paid the 77.

Oh great, what exchange rate were you charged?

I will wait for BCS.

I might have to wait for BCS too, CIMA has a favorable timeline but the cost is on the high side.

Why na? cry cry cry

Looks like there's no alternative (that can be done during this lockdown) and we're stuck with CIMA.

As has been said earlier, modified sine wave inverters are not the best. Aside technicalities, the characteristics humming noise is always a problem.

70 watts for a standing fan is on the high side to me. While searching for a low wattfan to buy, i discovered addrakk, qasa, century and boscon. I settled for boscon because it was the best sturdy wise(why buy fan that doesnt look strong and sturdy?) Qasa has lower power consumption(33watts)but doesnt look strong enough compared to boscon(40watts). Its blade is 18 inches as against 16 inches that is common. It was advertised for 22k-24k online but I got it for 17k haven connected to seller at alaba. Will post picture later.

Thanks for the recommendation and advice, I failed to do a comprehensive research before agreeing with the installers recommendations, I'll settle for a new inverter and a more energy efficient fan.

generalstingz:

Get qasa AC/DC fan. Max consumption is ~26watts

Thanks

ceaser:

Get 12v DC fans that are available on Jumia and Konga for as low as 14k for the 16 inches blade. They are non-rechargeable but can be hooked to your inverter (via included AC pack) or directly to your 12v battery source or hooked directly to your 50 watts 12v solar panels.

Thanks

saint2ace:

It's unfortunate cos I actually wanted a pure sine wave inverter and it has a sticker of pure sine wave boldly imprinted on it.

I have a 1500w capacity of a similar Chinese inverter brand that works well. This is just unfortunate. But if I can't get a means of confirming the true sine wave of the inverter, I'll just return it and count my losses.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with the modified sine wave for now, I'm working towards replacing soon with a pure sine wave.
Satellite TV Technology / Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by khattab008: 7:36pm On Apr 18, 2020
essegis:

Your inverter is not pure sine wave that's why. Not all equipment flow well with modified sine waves so it's better to improve your inverter to pure sine instead of buying another fan.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll try to get a pure sine wave instead. Wish I knew this before buying it though, I'll probably end up with an inverter I'm not using.

saint2ace:

I seem to be in the same shoes, got a 12v 4000w pure sine wave off grid inverter from Jumia global, but on testing it the noise coming from my TV speakers was something else. But once I change it back to grid power or my prag inverter the noise disappears.

As omotoda pointed out, I believe the problem is with inverter, probably best to switch to pure sine wave.

Hope they are not ox fans o. Those ones are bloodsuckers; they are now redundant in my living room.

Can you recommend standing fans to use?

My current fan (OX AC 230V 50HZ 70W) makes a very loud annoying noise whenever I'm on inverter (Mercury 1.2 modified sine wave with Luminous battery)

Though risky but will try it out.

Not really risky, most platforms allow you change resumes as you wish and there's nothing wrong applying directly on the website.

Hello, I need help. I'm applying for two job positions in two different companies with different roles. I am meant to only submit one Resume on that platform permanently which they will be using for any of my job application. I have experience in both roles too.
My problem now, will it be proper to merge my work experience together or should I split it - (1) job role 1 (2) job role 2.

I don't want my Resume to look tattered. I want both employers to be able to understand.
The end goal is to get at least one of the jobs.
How do you suggest I handle my resume to fit in my experience in both job roles?

Are you referring to Indeed? Using Indeed as a reference (it should work with any job platform though) you can try the following:

Try to visit the websites of the companies and see if you can find direct links out apply to the job outside the platform.

If you can't find the openings on the website of the either companies, modify you resume to suit one of the openings then apply, afterwards update the resume (to suit the second opening) on the platform before applying to the second opening.

Afterwards you can update the resume on the platform to the usual (or general) one.

I use mine with airtel Hotspot but you're good to go with your phone. Swift uses band 40 for its 4g LTE, and I just checked your device specs via GSM arena, and it has band 40 as well.

My phone (Xiaomi A1) has band 40 but I don't get reception when I insert my swift sim card into it, is there something I need to do for it to work?

In summary this is all you need
24,V 1000watt inverter
Six 12V, 200AH battery
1200watt solar panel
24V, 50amp charge controller.

Goodluck..

Thanks for this breakdown, I'll like to know the same calculations apply to a setup that doesn't include solar, specifically the part about charge controllers.

Hi Guys,
Do I start my WES certification before or after I do my BCS?

Also is BCS, IELTS, and sibling in Canada is enough to beat the needed CRS score?

You can't evaluate your BCS certificate until the result is available, you can start evaluating your B.Sc or M.Sc though.

You can play with tool to estimate CRS scores: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Anything above 470 should fetch you an ITA based on current trends.

Na to learn French sure pass. Please can anyone recommend a french tutorial centre where a total zero novice such as myself can learn French and be proficient enough to get a reasonable score in the exam. Reasonable enough to elevate my scores and give me some kind of advantage.
Also, what duration can one learn enough to pass the exam.

Check out the TEF thread, a lot people have shared their experiences there. The current record from novice to CLB7 or above is 6months (I think).

See this Swift network. I don't know what is wrong with their brains. I saw this from the twitter page. Seems they have reverted back to the free browsing at night on a daily basis. I dey suspect some wuruwuru somewhere. What about other swift merit promo users here. The past two nights, I have been downloading as usual at the normal time no deduction.

Maybe they made a mistake in the other post.

Has anybody subscribed for the swift merit plan recently(last couple of days)? I'll like to know if they're enjoying the free browsing.

I don't think there's an alternative from other ISPs, the merit plan was the cheapest truly unlimited plan.

Just to be exact, which would earn me more points, BCS or TEF, considering the fact that I'm an IT person (but I've got just one degree)

I've got a sibling in Canada, so that would be extra point.

Just to know, instead of me beating around the bush and wasting time and money.

I'd really appreciate answers, thank you

Maxing out on TEF would fetch you more points than BCS, but considering your background and the fact that you have a sibling in Canada BCS might be more suitable.

It'll help if you can share your current CRS score.
