I understand your view of saying Islam is prosecuting christians. You are basing views on the media and what boko haram or some muslim societies does and also yanking ahadith out of context to support your views. I say if you want to judge Islam you should judge Islam based on the authentic sources which are the Qu'ran and the Ahadith , you should not look at what the muslim society does or some muslims does because some may follow 50 percent or 80, 40 or 60 of the teachings of Islam. Killing of innocent human beings is prohibited in Islam, Al qur'an 5:32.

Do you know that there are 14 million coptic Christian Arabs. Coptic means christians right from time, If islam truely prosecuted them there won't be any Arab who will be coptic christians right from time.

alexis: Are you done with your chanting? This is not the Islamic section and that is one of the reasons I didn't this thread there. In this day and age, if I can't speak freely without someone telling me what I should and shouldn't say because it will offend anyone; I care less. If anything I have said is untrue, you are free to counter it. Let common sense and intelligence reign
you are lying and blaspheming.

I am not surprised this is one of the strategies used by the media to malign Islam. 1. Quoting verses of the Qur'an out of context. 2. They Quote verses of the Qur'an and ahadith correct but gives it a wrong meaning. 3. They quote verses of the Qur'an and ahadith correct bt give it a different angle, they portrait it as a problem.

Regarding the Name 'Zulqarnain' some will say it refers to Alexander and they will start laughing and saying that Islam wants to claim relationship with him because he is a great man. Ask them how do you know it is Alexander? No answer, few that know will say Yusuf Ali's commentary of the Qur'an. Point to be noted, No where does the Qur'an says ' Alexander' it says Zulqarnain not Alexander. If some commentator has made a mistake, it is a mistake in the commentary. The men has made the mistake, not the word of God.

NL member: When Muhammed 'prophesied' those things, he didn't say "there will be gradual signs before its occurence".
He simply said they will occur.
He didn't say there will be gradual signs of people consuming alcohol before it becomes widespread; he simply said consumption of alcohol would become widespread.

He didn't say there will be gradual signs before a trust becomes a means of making a profit; he simply said trusts would become means of making profits.

He didn't say there will be gradual signs before gains will be shared out only among the
rich, with no benefit to the poor, he didn't say there will be gradual signs before there will be people who will be brethren in public but enemies in secret, and so on and so forth;
All he said was that these things would happen.

Nothing about gradual signs was mentioned.

Muhammed simply said these things would happen.

Things that had already been happening for ages past.....since the beginning of time.
He actually declared that they are a sign of the end times........

Mmmmmmm
lol... U are funny. How will you know whether it has ocurred or not? The best way to know is to analyse. There are ahadiths explaining other ahadiths in context. All these will lead to the actually event. Can you travel to the future to verify? No! You have to analyse and check. It won't occur just one day. There are events that must take place before others.

Islam › Re: Sign Of End Of Days From Islamic Teaching by khattab02:
women will out number men 50:1 and you said it is blantant lie. Lets analyse, Any paediatrician any doctor will tell you male and female are born in equal proportion. But the female sex is stronger than the male sex thats the reason in child mortality, there are more males dieing than female. In children age itself there are more female than male. As life goes on there are more males dieing due to alcohol, accidents, wars etc. If u check the prison system all over the world, there are more males jailed in prison than women. In America there are 7.8 millions women morethan, in Uk there are 4 million women morethan male, in Russian there are 9 million women morethan male, in Germany there are 5 million women morethan male and God alone knows how many women are morethan males in the world. We haven't reached when it will be 50:1 but we are heading to it, if u analyse the statistics of the world. So it is in context of time and event. Thank you.

NL member: Alcohol was always rampant and it will always be rampant unless a better and legal alternative is discovered for it.
Nothing prophetic about that.
What do you say about the failed Constantinople prophecy though?
Muhammed said the Dajjal will come 7 years after Constantinople falls to the Muslims.

Constantinople fell 500years ago and still no Dajjal.

Explain that.
I didn't dispute the fact that Alcohol has been there since. But u have to analyze if its rate is increasing or reducing that is why I gave the analyses above. The world brands of Alcohols now like heineken, guiness and the rest didn't gain much publicity now as in some 150 to 200 years back. May be we haven't gotten to when it will be so rampant as to the prophecy but the rate is increasing. South Africa has over 300,000 alcoholics. In America 55 million. The rampant eveil of drukenness is universal and on the rise.
Islam › Re: Sign Of End Of Days From Islamic Teaching by khattab02: 9:36am On Sep 16, 2013
NL member: So this is your justification? That some of the prophecies have not happened so we should wait for it because they will happen in future?
Lol.
Lmao grin
I showed you different evidences to prove that there was never a time those 'prophesies'
weren't happening in human history.
Many of those things have always been there since forever, they didn't just magically start because the world is coming to an end.
If corruption and injustice; an inseperable part of human society and which has always existed is termed 'signs of the end', that means every other thing human beings do can also be taken as a sign of the end.
People eating food can also be a sign of the end.
People trading and doing business is a sign of the end, people c0pulating and bearing children is a sign of the end, people falling asleep at night is also a sign of the end.

Etcetera etcetera
well it is not a must that u must believe. These things were said over 1400 ago. How will u know whether they are true or false? You have to wait for the signs before u conclude. Thats why I said some are gradual and continuous. There will be signs before it actual occurrance. For example killing, people won't just wake one morning and start shooting and killing others, no, before that there will be threat to peace and it will start gradually. Has the world ended? NO! It is still in the context of time and event.
Islam › Re: Sign Of End Of Days From Islamic Teaching by khattab02: 8:34am On Sep 16, 2013
Yes mankind has been brewing intoxicants for years now but at that time it will be so rampant. Even now, we all know that alcohol is the root cause of several problems facing society. The statistics of soring crime rates increasing instances of mental illness and millions of broken homes throughout the world bear mute testimony to the destructive power of Alcohol. Yet you find it being the only disease sold in bottle throughout the world, it is being sold in several places, cities, hotels, motels, villages, dinner parties and so on. It is being advertise in newspapers, Tv stations, radio stations and so on. Goverments can put a ban to it because it generate income and revenue for them. Here in Nigeria, people don't mind buying a bottle of beer for 250 and above rather than buying a litre of fuel for 130. Our nabi kareeem sallallahu alayhim wa sallam is telling us that a time is coming when it will be so rampant, worse than what we have now. So You can't say that, 'that prophecy is flawed.' just wait for it.
Islam › Re: Sign Of End Of Days From Islamic Teaching by khattab02: 7:57am On Sep 16, 2013
Nl member. I laughed when I saw your counters about the prophecy last nite. Using your shallow logic to answer some with our present time and thinks in the future it won't happen. Any way most of the signs are yet to occur that doesn't mean it won't happen, it will. Some have started, some are continuous and some in the near future. There are major and minor signs.

Further more, if u say 'no no, it is not appeared to.. It is actually this.' let us analyze it further. The Qur'anic verse says... The sun set in murky water. Now we know, when we use these words like ' sunrise' and 'sunset' does the sunrise? Scientifically, sun does not rise neither does the sun set. We know scientifically that the sun does not set at all. It is rotation of the earth which gives rise to sunrise and sunset. But yet we read in everyday papers mentioning, sunrise at 6 a.m. Sun sets at 7.00 p.m. Oh! The papers are wrong, unscientific!. We call a person lunatic ' he is mad.' what is the meaning of 'lunatic'? It means 'struck by the moon' but that is how the language has evolved. Similarly sun rise, actually it is just a usage of words. Allah has given the guidance for the human beings also. He uses so, that we understand. So it is just 'sunset' not that it is actually setting, not that sun is actually rising. So the verse of qur'an 18:86 is not in contradiction with the established science. That is how people speak.
Islam › Re: Contradictions, Inconsistencies And Errors In The Holy Qur'an? by khattab02: 9:33pm On Sep 15, 2013
pertaining to Qur'an 18: 86, that ' Zulqarnain sees the sun setting in murky water in turbid water', Imagine sun setting in murky water, unscientific. The Arabic word used here is 'wajada' it means it appeared to Zulqarnain. Allah subhanawataala is describing what appeared to Zulqarnain. Point No.2 . The Arabic word used is 'magrib' it can be used for time as well as place. When we say 'sunset' sunset can be for time. If I say ' the sunset set at 7 p.m ' I am using it for time. If I say the 'sun sets in the west' it means I am taking it for place. So here if we use the word 'magrib' for time. So Zulqarnain did not reach that place of sunset used as time, he reached at the time of sun set.

jazakallahu khairan lanrexlan was just about to give him the reply. What people like Roy McBlue fail to realise is that Arabic language is not like other languages. One word in Arabic could mean several things. If u don't know the Arabic word how will you know whether the meaning applicable is correct or not?

Health › Re: Does The Mother Have An Influence On The Sex Of The Baby? by khattab02: 5:49pm On Sep 15, 2013
dominique: Sex determination depends on the man's sperm chromosome. Actually, the sperm contain two types of chromosomes, the XX (which leads to female offspring) and the XY chromosomes.
there's a theory that states that the position of the egg during a woman's menstrual cycle plays a part in the gender of the baby. It has not been proven to be 100% effective though.
yeah true talk there. I think instead of mother inlaws to blame their daughter inlaws for not having a male child, they should blame their sons because it is their chromosomes that determine the sex of the child.

Christianity Etc › Re: Bible: Jesus' Grandfathers Are Gay? by khattab02:
Alfa Seltzer: According to the bible, Joseph, Jesus' father had 2 fathers. No mention was made of a mother. Does it mean they were gay? This might explain certain traits in the life of Jesus especially if gayism is genetic.

Here:

Matthew 1:16

16 and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.

and here:

Luke 3:23

23 Jesus, when he began his ministry, was about thirty years of age, being the son (as was supposed) of Joseph, the son of Heli,
from the verse u quoted above joseph is the suppossed father of Jesus peace be upon him not his biological father. But you will wonder how he has got two separate lists of geneology in the Bible one in Matthew and the other in Luke. A man who has no father, who was miraculously born?
