1. It is as if in Nigeria-speak, the word "real life" is synonymous with Evil and Wickedness or something. A couple abandoned kids for 7 whole years in Nigeria yet you claim it is nothing more. What about the emotions of the children? What about their needs and well-being?,

So you should not have kids because of the situation on ground,you should not have kids when you are ripe enough,your arguement is based on paper assumptions not real life bro

2. So, these people decided to find themselves a better place, this after having kids and abandoning them right in the same country they were supposedly running away from?


Stop calling it abandon bro, they are not leaving forever.
They're are there to work hard and make things easier for their children before taking them over,same way your parent leave home before 6am and get back at 10pm everyday Just to make life easier for you.

3. What you've done is help further elucidate the glaring wickedness of this act by the parents of the kids better than the OP could have.

Ohh I love the story mode.
So it seems we all agree that the present day Nigeria is a very tough place to grow in, Nigeria kills dream,our leaders are useless, there's no visible light at the end of the tunnel of this country.
So the parent sees all this,maybe after trying out a business and seeing how our government is hellbent of frustrating every attempt at breaking the jinx of relative poverty in the family, decides to sell their family land, some of their properties to move to a working country, where human beings actually matters.
Where education has values, where you don't need to pray to God for electricity.
So this scenario now comes up, you don't have the needed funds to go with your children,plus the fact that it takes children long to adapt and the uncertainty you are about to face.
The best bet is to leave your children here,move abroad, try and work things out and hopefully bring them over as soon as possible.
That's family sacrifice for the greater good and the future of everyone if things works out.
Seven years with grandma won't kill them, tho I know it's not fair, but when was life fair?

1. Context ke? We are talking here of two human beings who were abandoned by parents who felt they had a better opportunity elsewhere. Did you read the story at all? The kids are left back at school until late for their grandmother to come by to pick them up. How are their lives better than that of average Nigerians out there because mummy and papa abandoned them in Nigeria to seek better opportunities elsewhere for Pete's sake?

Which long run? Kids get to grow up without the care of their parents. Grandma gets to work extra after raising her own kids. And it isn't that they are being chauffeured around or something or that they are living large as a result of, so what long run be that after 7 years of abandonment?
