Hello House. I need to know if I'll need to take my transcript along with me to the embassy as a transfer student. I actually asked my school here in Nigeria to help forward my transcript to my school in US. Will I need to ask for a copy to take to the embassy as (a transfer student). House gurus and those that have been in similar situation please kindly help with useful information.God Bless! |
@bigfrancis21 sorry jor forgot to add my email:henrystephen03@yahoo.com.thank you |
@dontpushme as much as I want to believe that someone you have not seen wants to pay your fee please dont use that person as your sponsor the VO's would never believe that.Use your mum or dad,to be on the safer side dont even mention that you have anybody in the chi they'll look at that and just think you want to abscond.so change your sponsor and what makes you think your intended sponsor would want to release her bank statement I'm pretty certain she wouldnt.so your parent are your best shot but take your processing from the first step. 1.Your Waec, 2.SAT/TOEFL 3.Send your documents to your desired school(s) 4. Get Admitted 5. Send your bank statement to the school where you've been admitted 6.your I20 arrives 7.Pay SEVIS 8.Apply and get your Visa 8. Go to America shikena! As you proceed through the steps ask questions and you'll get answers. |
@dontpushme, Yvette has pointed sum things out so I'm just gonna add.first thing you need worry about is your year of graduation(2005) in all sincerity bro thats a red flag.be prepared to answer questions like what have you been doing since you graduated in 2005.do you have any continuing education certificate or polytechnic cert like OND? If not then you'd have to bring up something like you've been involved in gaining experience in a field related to your intended course of study and make sure to add that its voluntary. In my opinion I wouldnt recommend saying you've been volunteering all through because most of those VO's have been in Nigeria for some time and they've heard several stories. My advice is for you is to re-take WAEC and if you've not gotten your passport already please dont get it yet chill till you fix the WAEC issue and then get your passport. About Toefl its pretty much advisable you write atleast one standardized it'll be best if you write it Toefl/SAT matter of fact it opens scholarship opportunity especially SAT and please whatever you do beware of age issues trust me you dont want to have any.If you'll be re-writing WAEC change your age to 18-19-20 max in my opinion and you're good and finally the US Embassy has little or no regard for NECO so dont even think about writing it instead.I'll be around to tell you more Success awaits! |
@Detus from my own view I think you can apply at any consulate. My uncle applied twice at the Lagos consulate and got denied twice he then applied at Abuja and then he got the visa.so my advice is for you to try the Abuja consulate.Your testimony awaits!Success. @dontpushme Okay, now I understand. Then your best shot regarding funding is to scale the SAT Test and the sky is just the beginning for you. |
@bigfrancis21, abeg forward me GRE materials. Thanks and God bless. |
To undergraduate applicants as much as its good to write standardized test.I'd also implore us to take our time to search for affordable schools.I know of some schools like Arkansas Tech University(ATU), Southern Arkansas University(SAU) Minnesota State University(MSU) and the list goes on just make findings and if you're interested in ATU I might be able to help you with some parts of your admission just check if they've got your desired major.I'm not charging for any info its free for all who needs it.just get @ me. Shoutouts to my bro Imperioux and every other NLders who're keeping the forum informative. |
@ everybody replying lol.I'd like to stress that this forum has its basic essence of existence as a medium for information dissemination..please let's not make anyone asking questions regarding this forum topic or related topic feel stupid..lets just point them to the right direction or simply keep mute. And yeah for those that want to apply the first and most important thing I'd tell you is to take a critical look at the part 1 and part 2 of of the USA Student Visa Enquiries and then move on to the current part which is part 3.I can assure you you'd be enlightened and informed.almost every question that comes to mind has been answered. For the guy that graduated from high school in the year 2005 my bro the year alone is a red flag but if you can intensify prayers you're highly favored.I believe in a God of absolute possibilities. However there're some tips I'd offer based on my experience.Success! |
Bleep you retards tryna go tribal on this issue all d hype and don baba j noise shit on almost every mo hit song is what has gotten that lame ass producer to that level he is now.its just lyk lil wayne always mentioning birdman on his track but we all know birdman cant talk any sensible shit on a track but lil wayne made him popular.artists makes producers gain all d rep and hypes.imagine where jazzy woulda bin without dbanjs success.hes just barking like a whipped dog. |
Hello peepz, its been a while.thank GOD the thread is still going strong first@ that broda that wants to know if he needs to pay another sevis fee because hes applying to a new skool.u dont need to pay a new fee and for those looking for UG admission for fall its not a 2 late o.UG applicants for fall lets come out.all d best. |

@sagewood, Thanks for your Info, what do you think about becoming an RD(Registered Dietitian) in the U.S.whats the employment prospect.I'm currently pursuing a Nutrition and Dietetics degree here in Nigeria and I intend becoming an RD in the U.S. |
I want to appeal to those that have made it to the USA already to remain helpful and stop all this dissing, its unhealthy and unhelpful for this beloved thread remember its sole purpose which is to help aspiring Nigerians study in the U.S.it'd be extremely helpful to keep quite if you have nothing helpful to add to this thread, No Hating oo.and I'll advise we start Nairaland in Obamaland for those that are already in Yankee, I envisage a community that'd help study-minded Nigerians accustom to the American environment with useful surviving tip, and please for those going for interview please bring it on, every experience posted is a seed sown to enhance the survival of this thread.and Fianally lets watch what we say here on this thread we should always remember this is a public site accessible to everyone Nigerian or not.I've decided to complete my undergraduate study in Nigeria but help whoever needs advise on application till I'm prepared to go study for my Masters. God Bless You. |
@cleverdude, Sorry about your delay, thats what it is, I'd like to say some few things though, your inconsistency played a major role, The first time I applied for a U.S visa I indicated my Uncle as my sponsor but after my denial soon my Dad picked up in Finances and He was ready to sponsor my U.S education.I had to change my sponsor .1. because people said I was denied because my uncle was sponsoring my education that they probably didnt see why my Uncle would want to pay such an amount to sponsor my education(but that wasnt why I was denied, I was denied because my Uncle had insufficient amount in his bank statement) but people that believed they had more experience than I had then, told me I was denied because My Uncle was sponsoring. I finally changed my sponsor and The second time too I was refused, You can still reapply bro, I've read of people getting theirs after the 6th application I pray yours wouldnt be like that, this time just make sure your last info corresponds with the one you'll be providing for the new application, Dont give up bro, |
@ Undergraduate Applicants in the House for Fall 2012, Abeg make una come out make we relate na,I'll be going for my Interview for the fall 2012 semester by May 1st might as well be the first fall applicant, May 1st is still within the stipulated 120 days beofre resumption.make we share recent experience pleaseeeeeeeee. |
@shdnky, No wahala, Na God sure pass.I'll strongly suggest you do more than praying right now, are you a yoruba individual abi?if you're online on yahoo messenger leave your yahoo i.d and I'll give you some hint, @House let us stop mentioning anything like oluwole on this thread you dont know who is looking.if you want to discuss anything beyond the usual simply request for I.D's and when giving out I.D's I'll suggest you chat with the person in beta warri phone or conc pidgin, just an advise, @rowlandoo sorry for the late reply o, been kinda busy I've applied twice and I've been delayed no giving up o, we can help ourselves with questions but undergraduates only o.wishing all prospective fall applicants Good Luck not Jonathan o.lol. |
@shdnky, I'm sorry about your case, I still would advise you not to fret, just be steadfast in your prayers there's nothing impossible for God.They're probably doing some other things on your application, I agree with DJunit that there's no way an embassy would be able to verify how much you have in your account, the bank would never disclose that. They can verify the account name and number though.and where did this happen, Lagos or Abuja embassy? |
@cleverdude its so true you can check the FMJfee website or ICE, I almost paid the money till my International Student Advisor told me I needn't pay it again and I contacted SEVIS so they made it clear besides its clearly written on their website. |
@rowlandoo, I'm also an undergraduate applicant for the fall 2012 semester, Undergraduate applicants too should please give comments, tips and advise on issues and I'll like to say this for the sake of those puzzled on the expiry of the SEVIS fee.the SEVIS Fee doesnt expire that easy.It doesnt if you apply within 12 MONTHS of previous denial it hasnt expired, meaning if you applied by fall and was denied and you reapplied again within 12 months please dont pay another SEVIS fee o.Wishing all Fall 2012 applicants a Huge Success, our Visas will be issued by God's Grace.Remember preparation matters especially by asking questions on puzzling Issues, lets keep the thread alive.and Congratulations once again Imperiouxx opened the year on a great note. |
Thank God for you Imperiouxx.Success story atlast. |
@ House, I want to apply for an undergraduate program, and I'm already 22+,that is I'll be 23 by December next year(2012) am I too old to apply for an undergraduate program, ? |
Wishing all Spring applicants including myself a successful Interview, Success shall be ours in Jesus Name ![]() |
Imperiuouxx abeg come on messenger now, we need to talk |
@ House, I have been denied twice now and I need advise on feeling the Ds160 before reapplying; The first time I applied, my uncle was my sponsor due to a little financial downturn for my Dad.so my uncle decided to help with tuition, I was denied. On my second application my dad was back on track financially, so He decided to be my sponsor, and I filled in his name as sponsor on my Ds160, I was denied again and now I just feel the second denial could have been as a result of changing my sponsor, @ House I'm confused on who to fill in as my sponsor now, Advise would be appreciated. |
@ House Spring 2012 Applicants please lets come out and share experiences and interview tips!!!wishing everyone success |
@ square65 thanks 4 ur info.abeg share your interview experience and please where do they ask 4 ur sevis reciept is it before or after the interview.as in shey na d V.O they ask 4 d reciept abi na other protocol officers.GOD bless u. |
@ House Am planning on re-applying.the reason i was denied the last time i went for the F1 interview was because my sponsor had insufficient amount of money in his statement of account.from what I've read from this thread so far i understand the us embassy keeps a record of every documents submitted. The sponsor indicated on DS 160 form i filled (2009) was my uncle and now i want to go with my dad's statement of account as he is now financially capable to sponsor me, what should i say if asked about why i was denied the last time and if i still had the same sponsor or perhaps why did i change my sponsor? It was indicated on my I20 as family funds Nigeria). House abeg i need help make una come to my aid oo |
@ Ayanfe sorry about that. I hope the post is useful to whomever is confused about getting an eexpedited appointment. |
@ Ayanfe even if you've been denied once they can still give you an expedited date, this has happened to me twice, one secret to getting an E.D is continue sending them mails, i sent them mails sote them call me say them don here say make i no send any more mails.so them come give me the E.D but i couldn't meet up with my resumption date anymore then.so keep on trying God go let you get am and keep on praying God will definitely lat you get it in JESUS NAME. |
@House Abeg fall 2011 applicants make una come out oo.those wey don go for their interview make una share experience especially undergraduates. |
