It is not the dream itself, brother. I was only shown what was to happen. What makes the dream come true is not the dream per se, but the ONE who has designed plans for those who are being approved. I am just a layman daily dreamer who sees some things before they happen. All glory belong to God. Dreambound
And yes, the dream is valid as long as God wills. There's a wind of change ahead.

@fairheart I strongly believe this revelation of approval covers me

@Twoods, I was expecting you to bring something like this up. lol. Fraudulent contracts? grin there you go again assuming and troubling your mind with what other people do for a living. Damn bro, you need help! You are bitter towards motherland, the citizenry that's just sad. I'll bet your pathetic self can't stand to look yourself in the mirror for a minute and not wish you were someone else. Nigeria where there are young budding entrepreneurs doing really amazing things, breaking grounds, beating odds and making the country proud. Nigeria where we have resilient youths who are continuously striving to achieve dreams. I don't know what part of Nigeria you come from but know this, while you cower and cover your face in shame and don't want to associate with the Name Nigeria. There are Nigerians proudly representing the country, who while the country hasn't done so much for them proudly fly the country's name all over the world, that's my Nigeria! that's MOTHERLAND. My fellow Nigerians, ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. This will be my last response to you on this subject, on this thread, you are not worth another response. Best wishes!

TWoods:

Another empty barrel who is “making it” in Nigeria, most likely through fraudulent contracts, but is camped here desperate for a visa to leave lol.

@Twoods
grin when you say "most of you" I am not in the US Yes, I plan on studying in the US Yes. It's not a do or die for someone like me. visa comes fine, visa doesn't fine. You know why? I've got really amazing things going on for me in NIGERIA. something you probably couldn't achieve while you were here. We're excelling here sir! can you boldly say that when you were applying for your visa you openly mentioned to the V.O that you had immigrant intent? As long as you keep making unguarded remarks about Nigeria, I will always come for you. If you can't be a part of the problem just STFU. I don't see how you help anybody and i don't understand why any serious person would reach out to you for advise.

TWoods:

1. Most of you don’t want “help”, you’re only here to learn tricks that you think will help you manipulate your way into getting a visa. It’s not rocket science - do your homework and be honest.

2. Nigeria has not been painted bad, we do an excellent job of proving that we cannot be trusted. A cursory look at the last 2-3 pages of this thread is sufficient proof. If you were a visa officer and you read just this thread alone, would you trust any Nigerian, genuine or not, with a visa?

3. You’re barking up the wrong tree, what is sickening is the laissez faire attitude of many here to one lie here, one false document there. There’s the other kid who effortlessly mentioned that she lied about going for her NYSC... no kidding!

4. The right approach is to show zero tolerance for dishonesty of any kind. Simple. Anything outside that is simply a joke.

@Twoods,
Look through your last 20 responses. Can you honestly say that you have been able to help a student or two with preparing better for their interview? Some of us just really want a great education. You always find it convenient to pass instant judgement and rebuke without actually understanding the situation. Your hate and disgust for your motherland is sickening to say the least. Trust me I understand how bad the country has been painted. I want us to do better as a Nation also but applying the right approach is key. The purpose of this thread is to help students achieve their dream of studying in the US and doing so without "circumventing the system". calm down man!

There are people on this thread who have offered their space as temporary shelter at home and abroad to nairalanders from this thread as a form of onboarding service lol for free. Hi everyone,
@Twoods, welcome back! It’s clear how people missed your very informative inputs on this thread.. However, I would like to pass some friendly reminders. They are mostly life lessons.
1. When you choose to make contributions, please learn to apply more empathy. Most of the time, your comments, advise, suggestions reeks of prejudice and preformed opinions. You assume all Nigerians are crooks. No, we aren’t. It might disgust you to live with the fact that you were originally a citizen of this great country.
2. When people get their visas and they claim it was God who gave them. I think it’ll be best you stay out of it. When you claim Americans or Germans or Chinese or Irish people don’t pray to be issued a visa you need to understand that they pray about other things. We don’t all have to have the same prayer requests do we? If they pray for good health and I pray for a successful visa outcome does it really matter? Live and let live.
3. Third, I discovered that Johnolukay raised a very important fact and you need to check it.Your ‘tone’. Honestly, watch it bro. There’s life beyond Nairaland Visa Thread that people constantly have been dealing with. Getting a visa isn’t a do or die affair. You lack an understanding of how communication works, you clearly do not understand emotional intelligence. You are notorious and acclaimed as someone who passes good information in a harsh way. I think you hate that you come from this country so much. To those applauding you for always coming out harsh, we should try to see beyond intent and suggest that he delivers more compassionately. I have been a memeber of this thread for more than 8 years now, good people have come, left a lasting mark, imparted lives without having to be rude or harsh. Honestly, I don’t find you to be a pleasant person because what you say is ultimately a reflection of who you are. Pass your message in the calmest, unassuming way possible. Character is everything.
Lastly, where is bracelum. I used to assume he is the new Twoods, but comparing your comments and delivery now. He’s a lesser evil. I said what I said, that’s my opinion. I’ll tell you the same thing I told him. This thread was awesome without you. We need kind people who talk like they have an understanding of how life works. Not humans who like to be perceived as angels. Good luck.

Don't register it yourself, you will end up paying heavily. Use centres that does the registration, you will get the best rate.

Hi @Time2win
Thank you for your response. Coming from you, I’d reconsider my stance. Do you have any credible registration center you can suggest? There’s actually a lot of them and the stories I’ve heard are quite disturbing. For instance, I heard some reg centers pay with stolen credit card and I don’t want to be a victim of ignorance or be involved with things of this nature. I’d really appreciate your suggestion. Thank you.

Hi guys,
I want to know if it’s possible to register for TOEFL in Nigeria without using agents. I tried registering with my Visa card because I read on the TOEFL page that they only accept Visa cards from Nigerians and yet I am unable to make payment. I keep getting an error message after receiving an OTP code that they are unable to process my payment. I would really appreciate information on how I can register for the TOEFL IBT in Nigeria without using agents. Thanks.

Nigerians are so good at advising. Even when they need the advise more than you grin grin grin

@bracelum,
You’ve been doing a great job on this forum and I say kudos to you. However, please understand that if you don’t provide help other people will. Humility will teach you a lot. Learn to respect other people’s opinion. Nobody is an island. OluDare has been on this forum way before you got here and has probably rendered more assistance than you. This wasn’t how we used to do it. The survival of these thread can only be attributed to mutual respect and understanding. Another important thing to note is, there are actually people who aren’t within the same age bracket with you on this forum. Please learn to address people with respect. I notice how you never seem to agree with a differing opinion. You are doing a great work like I mentioned earlier just try to do it with humility. I really hope you don’t respond with insults because that’ll be too predictable and I won’t be dignifying that with a response.

Hello,
Yes, your bro in the US can help you make the payment. He’ll have to generate a coupon on your behalf from the SEVP website (www.fmjfee.com)You can also generate the coupon yourself and send it to him via email. The coupon is what he needs to make payment at the Western Union outlet. Good luck.

Hello house,

Please if I use the online free WES evaluation, does it make the result equivalent to what it would be if I did the paid one? I want to know if the scores mean the same thing.
I had 3.62/5.0 scale in a Nigerian undergrad.
Online free WES evaluation gave me 3.13/4.0scale.
Is it safe to state it on applications that I have 3.13 on a 4.0 scale? Thanks!

Hi,
The online free WES evaluation only provides an idea of what your actual score after evaluation would be. I had a UG GPA of 3.63/5.0 scale. With the free WES online I had 3.24, after the official WES evaluation I had 3.26.

Hi,
You would have to visit the WAEC office at Yaba to request for a copy of your WAEC transcript. Go with at least 3 Passports, photocopy of your WAEC result, Waec scratch card, N10,000 application Fee, N10,000 for FEDEX delivery, be prepared to do affidavit too. In all, I’ll advise you go there with atleast N25,000. Please note that I am speaking from the experience I had sending my WAEC result to WES. It might be a little different since you are sending directly to CSU. Before proceeding to the WAEC office, be certain that CSU really needs your transcript and not just WAEC scratch card. Some schools accept WAEC scratch card to verify your result.

Abeg Make Una Help Me for this matter. I filled out my Visa application form and it reflects that my Interview Venue is Lagos with xyz address in Lagos. Well When i was paying for the Application fee, i chose Abuja as my Interview Venue for April. Does that change anything ?

Hello,
When paying the visa fee, you are not required to indicate your preferred interview location. There are two times you are required to provide your preferred interview location.
1. Landing page of the DS-160 where you’ll be required to select an interview location before it takes you to the profile page.
2. When you are scheduling your interview appointment

If you intend to interview at Abuja, you can cancel the appointment, fill and submit another DS-160 form and this time be sure to indicate your preferred interview location as Abuja, update the new DS160 bar code on your profile before scheduling a new appointment. Before canceling your previous appointment be sure that there are available dates for the period you wish to interview.

Hello brother!

I must confess I do appreciate the way you took your time to responding to my questions, giving your opinions and advice.

I have chosen to apply for the undergraduate programme. And I will be prepared to to answer questions from the VO on what I have been doing since I finished my high school. and I think my answers should be plain as Telling the VO after my secondary school I have gone for my diploma and also proceeded to work for some years. and also be able to answer questions on the course I will choose for the undergraduate programme, the schools, and how the course will benefit me when I return to my country and finally my sponsor. and most importantly be prayerful. I think am on point with all these

will be commencing on my application this week, and hoping to get admission from the schools within short time.

Thanks very much sir.

Okay bro. I wish you good luck in all of your endeavor. Cheers.

I think I understand your concerns. Applying to a BSc program at 29 is a huge red flag. However, about 5 years ago my cousin Who was 30 years old at that time applied to an undergraduate program and his visa was approved. My advise is that you send your HND transcript to WES and have them evaluate it. Once it is evaluated and converted to the US scale, you’ll have a somewhat levelled playing field with BSc holders who are applying to a masters program. If you choose to proceed with the undergraduate admission, be prepared to answer questions bothering on what you have been doing since you graduated from high school, if you’ve had any form of postsecondary education.

For an HND holder, since one cannot go for a masters programme direct, is it advisable one go an undergraduate programme in order to obtain Bsc

Hello
You should endeavor to read through this thread beginning from part 7 there’s an array of beneficial information that you’ll find invaluable. A lot of HND holders have been able to gain admissions directly into masters programme. What they usually do is to have their transcript evaluated by the credential evaluating body (WES). They’ll convert your GPA to the US scale and you should be good to go. Some people might have listings of schools that accept HND-Masters applicants. Or just read through from part 7 you’ll get the answers you need.

Please I need response this

Hello,
The visa fee payment you made is no longer valid since you didn’t attend your interview and you didn’t cancel the scheduled appointment before the interview date. On transferring B1/B2 to F1 category that is also impossible. The only option in your case is to make payment for another visa appointment, if you intend applying as a student you should ensure that only the correct category is indicated (F1- academic, M1- vocational and J1- exchange students). I hope your question has been answered. Good luck.
