Hi, just to clarify please, are you saying you had a visitor's visa application running that had'nt been approved and you still applied for your study visa within the same time and got an approval for the study visa? Lianna2020: I heard dual intent is allowed.
Even though my study has been approved , I still have my visit visa running since November. Haven’t had time to withdraw the application self. |

Could this really been an issue? If she has not done her biometrics, how can the former application be traced to her? Akannitommy: Hi,
I sympathize with you but be composed in your next step. Let me give you one instance why you should follow-up with the agent. Not to claim a refund BUT to clarify on the application.
If the agent did apply (which I doubt) and mentioned that you have a sibling but you actually have two. It could also be you saying no previous refusal but you were refused and the agent didn't say so. If you "re-apply" and state that you have two siblings, or you were never refused, those are discrepancies which could cost you a 5-year ban or worse.
That is why you should be aware of what really happened. The best case situation is that no application was actually lodged then you can start on a clean sheet.
Best. |

If it has been that long since you applied, you might as well just wait for a medical request before going to get it done. My reason is because, any moment from now, you should be hearing from them HartyA: As my application is processing could I still book an appointment or wait till my application request I go for my medicals, bare in mind I applied in February 2021 |

Please appeal this decision. Contact Ogayemi law firm on Twitter or Instagram(Ogayemi_immigration). He is a licensed Immigration Lawyer in Canada and has been called to the bar there. His website his www.ogayemilawfirm.com. He is really good. olupatito: I dont mind appealing, if any one can guide me through or give me the contact of a lawyer I can work with, biko |

Google IOM medicals or Qlife. You book through their website. They give you a day for your medicals. For IOM medicals, I was able to make a transfer and take my receipt with me for proof of payment. feistymikey: Anyone please How do I apply for upfront medicals?? Can anyone give me the steps and link please?? |

Actually do not let the agent pay for it again as he can request a charge back again. pay or it yourself at all cost Olaa123: Take this with all seriousness! A chareback must have been done in your application. And if you used an agent, he is 90% responsible for this. I have seen 2 people who got 5 year bans each due to this. Please take it with all seriousness and ensure the 235CAD is paid. If the agent says he has paid it again, ask for a receipt. Do not allow any agent complicate your problems! |

It is not compulsory but it increases your chances of getting the approval. They have had issues with many Nigerians going there and not ending up studying. Paying part or full payment shows some form of commitment on your part that improves your chances. Also a lot of schools offer refunds if the visa is denied or under some other circumstances. Check out the refund policy of your school. Albeit, to answer your question, it is not compulsory but it is advisable. ossysam1: Good afternoon Nairaland Family.
Please I would like to know if someone can apply for study permit (PGD) without part payment of school fees. In other words, is part payment of school fees compulsory before submitting application.
Please note; the school has already sent a conditional offer of admission. Below is the content of the letter;
"Dear ......
This letter confirms that you met the provisional admission offer for the post degree in ......offered at the unversity of winnipeg ...
Met Admission requirement form - use this document for your application to IRCC for a study permit. Pleas consult with IRCC to determine if you can apply for a study permit with a provisional letter, or you should wait until you receive an unconditional offer"
Thank you. |

I can personally vouch for Ogayemi Law firm. He knows his onions. One of the best qualified immigration lawyers in Canada obongkaks: This is rather sad yet painful. You will need to hire the services of an immigration lawyer resident in Canada and as you should know, lawyers abroad charge per hour. I would advise you do not correspond with cic yourself on this case. Check humansqaud.ca and chat them up to see if they can refer you to a lawyer over there.
Also check Ogayemi law firm, they are an immigration lawyer but rather expensive. Whatever your decision, you will have to bring closure to this case cos it will always arise whenever you have to apply to any other country.
I wish you well |

I recently saw a 40 year old and a 31 year old get visas on this thread. Don't let your age deter you as many 30+ have gotten their visas here. Step 1- Apply for admission for masters. Get funding/scholarship from the school if possible. Step 2- Pay part or full school fees. Step. 3- Gather your documents and apply for visa. Felepumpin: Good morning good people. I am new here though I have been following the thread. I need help on how to go about my dream graduate study in Canada. I graduated from Ekiti State University with a 2:1 in Economics and Education. I am 31 and still single. Please kindly advise on my chances and the necessary requirements as I am a newbie.
Thanks in Anticipation. |

I think it depends on your school. My school made our student transcripts available on our individual student's portal. The official transcript however could only be sent by my school. winta2007: How can I get a student copy of my transcript and use it to apply for admission in Canada. I do think that most schools in Nigeria do spend transcript direct to the school instead of giving it to the student. Most schools in Canada requires the submission of the student copy. How do I get it? |

You can use the Barter by Flutterwave. They give you a virtual dollar card. I had no issues using it to pay for someone. Your Nigerian card wont work bc of the $100 limit, Ikechi17: Good morning, please how do I pay for my application for study permit my visa debit card is not working. Thanks |

It is pretty easy. You book on IOM Medicals or Qlife. you pay the medical fees which ranges from 45k-50k. They give you an appointment date. You go in and complete the medicals in a day. On completion, you are given a paper. You scan it and upload with your study permit when submitting. If you have already submitted, you can still raise web form and they can update and acknowledge it. Note:You can only do the medicals in the two hospitals mentioned above for it to be regarded as valid by the Canadian embassy. My explanation here may not be detailed enough but you can do a quick google search for more detailed explanation. Jubileefraizer: Please I'm new here.. Do your upfront medical. It makes everything faster or you may end up waiting for months. Available dates may be really far, it may also tke a long time before medicals is acknowledged and updated. IELTS is only required if you want your visa processed faster. It is not mandatory and if you do not have IELTS, your visa would be processed via normal route. The faster processing time is called the Nigerian Student Express. You can do a quick google search on this or watch a youtube video on this subject for better understanding. EngrEgghead: Hello Lianna2020. Congrats on your PPR. I read on the UCW website that IELTS is not compulsory if English was the language used in the Uni l graduated from. Please why do l still need the IELTS for the student visa application. I just got an offer letter at UCW for MBA and I have paid the tuition fee for Oct intake. Though I am yet to start the student application, l foresee IELTS may be an issue as there is limited time for me to study and write the exam. Do you think my PPR will be ready before October. What do you advise. |

From personal experience avoid Wakanow. They almost got me stranded one time. If you can, book your flight directly from the airlines' website. NEYOT88: You can book from wakanow, most travel management companies have deal codes given to them by airlines which further reduce most fare on their website hence the reason you are seeing it cheaper from Wakanow. |

Good evening NL.
Please is it smart to submit an application for a study permit even if I have a pending visiting application that I have not gotten feedback from?
I applied for a renewal of my Canada visiting Visa in April 2020. Haven’t gotten any feedback till date. I got admission into a School in Canada and now want to process my study visa. Let me also mention that I am in the pool.
Do you think the VO would deny me the visa on the grounds that I already have a pending application with them- the visiting visa and the EE profile. My sister says I would appear desperate to the VO which I am inclined to disagree with.
I would like the guru to offer assistance pleaseeee. @lekiboboe @otunbatee pleaseee |

Hello guys, trust you are doing well.
Please I would like to ask. I submitted an application for the renewal of my Canadian Visiting Visa in April, 2020. I have not gotten a feedback from them, most likely because of the Covid as I doubt they are processing visiting visas.
However, I got admission into a school in Canada and I would like to ask if submitting another application for study visa would look desperate to the Visa Officer and if they would refuse my study Visa on the ground that I already have a pending application with them.
I visited Canada once in 2019 for a vacation and returned home. I renewed but I haven’t heard from them. Now I please want to know if I would ruin my chances in the eyes of the VO if I then proceed to submit my Study Visa application.
Anyone who has been in such a dilemma can help kindly assist me please. |
