i dont see where the problem is here. it is either that you like him or you do not. if you do and he says he is willing to wait for you why not keep him as a friend? if you do not then simply tell him so!
Romance / Re: f by kilakhan(m): 10:27am On Aug 10, 2010
Campbell did not disgrace black women. and if you followed the story you will know she gave away the diamond(s) immediately to some fellow in the Mandela Children's charity. Even the witness Mia Farrow said Campbell said she was not going to keep the diamond. In what way did she disgrace herself or for that matter black women?
the story only came out because Campbell was honest enough (and possibly naive too) to tell her breakfast mates that some people came to her room the previous night and gave her the diamond(s). i doubt that she was the only one that received diamonds that night.
another point you should note is that the origin of the diamonds has not been decided. the events in question happened in south africa which is the world's 4th largest producer of diamonds and a bigger producer than Sierra Leone. the prosecution hopes to tie Taylor to blood diamonds using that incident.

the good guys are out there but Naija women need to take those blinkers off. Naija women are the hardest to approach and it takes literally FOREVER to get them. these days nobody wants to pursue, chase, woo a babe forever. if it is taking too long you simply move on.

and for the ladies unnecessary shakara and time wasting is NOT an indication of class!

we already have people in schools with fake results and people on the streets with fake degree certificates and lecturers with fake credentials, politicians with fake (or should I say no) resumes/credentials, quack doctors, lawyers, engineers, architects, pastors and even footballers so it is no stretch of the imagination that someone will think up a fake NYSC camp with fake corpers. one day we go get fake President as we dey go so! God save this country!

NYSC / Re: Mark Seeks Extension Of Youth Service To Two Years by kilakhan(m): 5:10pm On Aug 09, 2010
that David Mark is Senate President really burns me up. this joker has nothing to contribute to this nation. Can he point out one thing him and his august body of leeches have contributed to Nigerian development? In the light of the poverty in the land can they explain why they are paying themselves such bumper salaries? In a country where it takes strikes and threats of strike for the government to pay a minimum wage of N7,000 to a fellow citizen can they justify what they allocate to themselves as salaries and benefits?
what is the essence of 2 years of national service? if we wanted to be in the military would we not have applied to NDA? the military we see on the streets that act above the law are they disciplined? the military that we know engages in armed robbery are they patriotic or acting in the national interest? him and his cohorts that looted our commonwealth were they trying to ensure national survival by their stealing? please this wretched man should leave us to pick up the pieces of our lives the best we can. we do not the medicine he and his ilk prescribe. we have tried it before and we know where we are as a result.
Sports / Re: Mikel Obi Please Score A Goal Or Shoot On Target by kilakhan(m): 4:50pm On Aug 09, 2010
I do agree that Mikel should improve his shooting as that will improve his overall game but that aside I see nothing wrong with the way he plays and apparently neither do his coaches. If he was as useless as some people try and make him out to be I am sure Chelsea would have let him go. Chelsea besides being a football team is also a business and I doubt that oyibo people being the pragmatic businessmen they are will hold on to an underperforming Mikel. He must be doing something right after all the same team let go of Joe Cole an established English international at that!
Sports / Re: John Obi Mikel: Comparing Him With Lionel Messi by kilakhan(m): 11:46am On Aug 07, 2010
@Ranosky
no one said defenders cant win accolades. i just pointed out that strikers are the darlings of the footballing world. Canavarro won it in 2006 after the World Cup and he was sensational in that World Cup. The awards are actually based on the votes of coaches from National teams. Fifa shortlists 3 candidates and asks that the coaches vote for them. Obviously there is never consensus as to who the best is but the winner is the person with the most votes. That is different from rating players. The reason why it is pointless comparing players that dont do the same thing is because there is no yard stick for doing so. The season Arsenal went unbeaten why was Jens Lehman not Arsenal player of the season? After all his contributions as a goalkeeper must have in a large way contributed to the fact that they went unbeaten. I doubt if Arsenal could have achieved that feat if Almunia or the other clowns in goal for Arsenal these days were the ones manning the post then. How would you rate Lehman's goalkeeping that season alongside Robert Pires play on the wings and Lauren as right back? Surely its impossible!
On the issue of Messi he is world footballer of the year but no one can argue that it is Xavi and Iniesta that make Barca tick not Messi. So how do you compare those three? In Wayne Rooney's opinion Iniesta and Rooney is the best player in the world. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12040_5351723,00.html

i hear Lagerback has finally turned down an extension of his contract. i am keeping my fingers crossed that the numbskulls in NFF will give Siasia the job. also praying that they dont lump him with dead wood like Amokachi and Eguavoen!
Sports / Re: Siasia Reveals Plans For Eagles by kilakhan(m): 10:31am On Aug 06, 2010
@honeric01
experience (personal experience) is usally the best teacher. we are not willing to give the guys in the local league the chance but we expect wonders from them. its a fundamental flaw in our reasoning. in 1990 when we failed to qualify for the WC Westerhof jettisoned some of the old brigade and took guys like Amokachi (home based at the time), Thompson Oliha (home based at the time), Uche Okechukwu, Aloy Agu (home based at the time) and others to the 1990 nations cup. does anyone recall that these relatively inexperienced players got to the final and even went on to become the bedrock of our national team?
Sports / Re: Siasia Reveals Plans For Eagles by kilakhan(m): 9:39am On Aug 06, 2010
^^
Amodu was right and I think he was shortchanged. but that aside the only way home based players can gain experience is by exposure. in a world cup year i thot Amodu would have told the fools in NFF that the nations cup was not important and that the established players should rest for that tournament while he took fringe players trying to break into the Eagles to the Nations cup. without testing uncapped players in a competitive atmosphere you will never know if they are up to international standard or if they can stand the strain.
which would we have rather reached the semi-finals between the nations cup and the world cup? if you do not give youth a chance then you will have to keep playing old players till they drop dead. the problem with Amodu eventually was just that. he did not try to refresh his team. he did not discover one new player. he just kept on plodding ahead with the same old unsuccessful crew. he needed desperately a strong injection of fresh blood and did not have a clue where to look.
another problem Amodu had was that he preferred using our so-called "best" players even if they could not gel as a team. football is a team sport and the team that plays the best usually does well. Argentina at the World cup used their best players and we all saw how Germany hammered them. One on one the Argentines were bigger names but poor as a team.
i wish Siasia all the best and i really hope he gets the job. he has proven himself time and again at the junior levels and it is now time for him to step up.

an unlettered man resorts to foul language to make his point. your use of uncouth language just goes to show how "smart" you are. you need to grow up man and get a life. no one is arguing with you. i doubt if anyone even wants to seeing your resort to foul language. i hope your own leaadership and training skills in your house consist of teaching your kids how to insult people. Sports / Re: John Obi Mikel: Comparing Him With Lionel Messi by kilakhan(m): 12:10am On Aug 06, 2010
there is no point comparing Mikel and Messi, they really dont play in the same position and never have, whilst Mikel has always been a midfielder Messi is a support or second striker, i do wish Mikel had continued in the role he played for Nigeria in 2005. He was sensational then and is still very good right now as a defensive midfielder, I had hoped that he would be the one to take over from Okocha. His vision was extraordinary.
To compare him to Messi is a waste of time. It is like comparing Iker Casillas and Diego Forlan. Since they dont do the same thing it is fruitless.
Besides strikers are always the darling of the footballing world. They are the ones everyone talks about. No one talks of that brilliant tackle that stopped a goal bound move or that clearance of the line,

they have the Champions league and Europa league, besides I know a lot of ladies like the Indian films on it so I guess they will survive, more important they should improve the quality of thier programming, DSTV may have the premeirship rights but they too can be pretty boring, HiTV needs to add some more quality channels to compete,
