justwise: Your sister inlaw brother is not a good liar, you need the holy spirit to convince the ECO that his company is willing to spend 1M naira in 4days on him just to travel to the UK for sightseeing.
1M naira is equivalent of his 4months salary and he was willing to spend that in 4days?
Let him try another country with an honest application because he has started on the wrong foot with the UK application Comment appreciated. Thanks |

Happy new week mates. Please I need your assistance. My sister inlaw brother was denied a UK visa and he wants to reapply soon. Please I will like to know the main reason(s) he was denied. He wants to write and explain in details why he was refused. Please I need comments on the reason why refused. Was he refused based on personal and financial circumstances? I will appreciate comments, advice and how to go about the refusal. I.e what to write. In addition, there was a letter given to him by his company on the trip as the best staff of the year during the AGM. (Annual general meeting) . The CEO of the company usually gives award in form of travel incentive according to what he explained to me. He attached the letter in his previous application but did not explain to ECO that the money was given during AGM. The letter he submitted only stated that: As a result of your good outstanding performance the company av decided to send u on a four days trip to the uk...... Please I will appreciate your contributions to make the second application asuccessful. Thanks

You should know too well that this is wrong and will lead to 10yrs ban from the UK? All that man wanted is to make money out of your sister inlaw by introducing her to the agent and you have succeeded in doing that. Thanks for your comment Justwise. But I want to verify if Abuja and Lagos embassy do interview for tourist visa? As for me I am not comfortable with the guy and we are not interested again. My only concern now is if tourist visa go for interview? |

Hello house. I need comments on these issues please. My sister in-law was assiting her younger brother to re-apply for UK visa and just yesterday a friend of my husband came to our house and from one talk to the other, we started talking of UK visa, so I mentioned about my sister in-law, how she was trying to reapply a visa for younger brother, the man started gisting me how he got his visa in 2012. He said that someone assisted him, he just went to Abuja with his documents and passport and was interviewed, in few weeks he got his passport with visa. I was very surprised, do tourist visa applicant go for interview ? He even said that most documents were fake but ended up getting it. He just said the man that helped him knows pple at the Embassy, I was so confused about his talk. Please are they some people that go through interview for tourist visa here in Nigeria? Is it in Nigeria that they put the visa sticker? He even gave me the connection of the guy for my sister in-law to use him, i called my sister in-law and linked her with the guy and he said he will assist but we are scared and beside I av not heard about Interview for tourist visa. So sorry for the long write up. |

Hi house, i am new to this forum. I kindly need your advice please. A friend of mine from Nigeria want to apply for visiting visa to the UK. He has chicken business he is doing and making lot of money from his supplies. The problem now is that he doesn't pay tax for his business and no personal tax. in Nigeria we hardly pay tax for people doing this kind of trade, one does it as self employed. My question now is will UK embassy refuse his visa for not paying tax in his country? What are the best requirements he can use to get his visa? Please those that are applying as self employed/ business what requirements did u use to convince the visa officer. Must he include tax. Why I am asking all these is that I saw a refusal letter that the visa officer mentioned tax clearance certificate. Please house I need your advice |

Killingmesoftly: Thank you all for your responses I really appreciate. Thanks! Please I have another question, can a mother who is a British citizen living in the uk fill for her daughter who is 25years and lives in Nigeria to come and live permanent or settle in the UK with her? Why I asked is that a classmate of mine is here and I asked her if she came in through visiting visa, she said No that her mum fill for her, so she had a legal stay. She said that all her siblings are British citizen and live in the UK. Please do UK do such? bc I know that it is very possible in USA but for UK I am not sure so I decided to ask. I will appreciate your responses dear house. Please house I am still waiting for responses in this question I asked please |

Lexusgs430: You see why I mentioned lottery? I don't blame the husband for having his reservations, likewise I don't blame the wife, for enjoying her services and price and I don't blame the nanny, for attempting to overstay her visa.......
As things stand at the moment, employing her is highly risky (financially and legally).......
Likewise employing her on an expired visa, is also equally risky (legally and financially).......
They all have a decision to make and take, unfortunately I would not decide for them....... Thanks for your advice |

Lexusgs430: In the black market Labour, you would even see £450.00. A person on visiting visa, staying in a free house + £600 pcm....... Hit the lottery.....
NB : Going down this route, hopefully all goes well and you would not require legal or civil services.... Or else, alarm go blow....... The world go know wetin is cooking wey burn house........ I don't understand pls break it down, is it that the family will be in trouble for using undocumented person? My friend was even telling me yesterday that the nanny wants to overstay her visa, she is still contemplating weather to let her continue working for her,she said the nanny is very good and the kids likes her but her hubby is against her staying, so she might tell the lady to leave end of the month |

Ralphlauren: a 'local childminder' will not accept £600 per month to look after 3 kids 7am -7pm, 5 days a weeks and two Saturdays a month. NEVER.
what you are looking for is someone undocumented or here on visiting visa. even with that, you will be lucky to find one on these terms. Why I am saying £600 is that a friend of mine that has three kids, one is six, four and the last one is two years, she employed this lady that came from Nigeria as visiting visa, she was so lucky the lady is very good to the kids, she does the cleaning of the living room, kitchen, inface her house is always neat, she help to arrange the kids cloths neatly in the cupboard, she take them out, bath, dress and take the four years old girl to school, infact the lady is too much, she even work atimes on Saturday but guess what my friend pays her, only £600. So I was supprised.that is why I am asking. The lady lives in her house. I think why she is paying her that is that the nanny doesn't have paper to work. Even my friend told me that most people in London still pay from £700-£500 |

imnotconfused: I believe you mean an au pair and not a nanny?
A nanny is the expensive option which would cost over £1k pcm or is it the agency type nanny cum aupair? The ones you pay per week?
Everything depends on your bargaining power I believe,I had one Nigerian nanny from an agency and I regretted it.
I was paying £1500 ,then I was paying holiday bonus, she had special food which we supplied and we also paid for her toiletries etc
She worked 5 days a week 8-6:30 and had weekends off.She did not cook, only job she did was clean her room, kids room and her bathroom, fold their laundry(we ironed), dress the kids make sure they had their meals & bathe them.
She was basically looking after the younger child as we placed the older one in nursery 4 times a week.
She was overtly familiar and kept on reminding me that she was a bank manager in Nigeria years ago,she was a big woman etc,I asked her how that was relevant to this job? She was also very critical of the way we raised our children and wanted us to call her mama.
She never took the kids to the park or did any extra curricular activities with them, and she was constantly complaining.
If we came home and cooked food late she would complain that she was hungry..we always told her all the food was at her disposal but she preferred to eat what I cooked.
She once mistakenly knocked my daughter down and then blamed her for being in her way.
She scratched my daughter's face and blamed me for not buying hand creme to soften her nails.
She blamed my then 3 year old for farting in her face on purpose but she bent him over to wash his bum and somehow he farted but she said he did it on purpose.
This is a shortened version.I employed this Nigerian nanny who came highly recommended by the agency cos I thought it would aid my children in learning my local language.
We fired her after she tried to accuse my husband and I of something we did not do, something she clearly did but refused to tell the truth.
My children hated her but we were desperate cos of our jobs.I regret every second of it and will never make the mistake of sacrificing the well being of my children again just to make a living.
I have a friend who shipped a relative from Nigeria to nanny for her,the woman called police for them and said they took her documents and enslaved her..this woman is in her 40s.
Some people have good experiences though.
Nowadays I pay £1100 pcm for 4 days in nursery then breakfast and after school club £400pcm. Extracurriculars cost about £300-400pcm
Once the younger one turns three, nursery fee will come down to about £700.
I'm happier with nursery for now because I have peace of mind,I'm happy to spend the money and have peace. The risk of leaving my most precious possession in the hands of just.anybody is too scary.I no dey do again.
DH and I have had to work round each other. He is more flexible thankfully as I cannot pick and choose my shifts at will.
I also spend loads to bring in grandparents from Nigeria but then again I have peace of mind.
If you have CCTV at home, maybe you can employ an aupair I don't know but you will have to tell.her there are cameras installed.I think they're the ones in the price range you mentioned,I may be wrong.
3 children is a lot but it depends on their ages.If 3 and above, check the 30 free hours entitlement. If less than 3,you'll need to cough up the cash and work with partner/husband or not work at all till they're older.
Me I prefer to work and spend all my salary on nursery just to preserve my sanity, besides having a leg in the career door is very necessary for every woman.
Good luck. Sorry to hear all these. Here in Peterborough no one can afford to pay £1000. How much is ones salary |

Lexusgs430: And whatever you do, NEVER get tempted to import a nanny from Nigeria.....
I know bringing up kids is a major expense in the UK, the only solution is for people to work alternate shift patterns or ship grandma over ...
Daddy works night, while Mummy works days or vice versa...... (well, not unless you have a money tree in the garden)........ Thanks for the response |

geek: You’ll need to pay her the National minimum wage (currently between £4.20 and £7.83 per hour, depending on her age). Minimum wage will be increasing in 2019 as part of the new tax year - https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates
You can offset her accommodation - but to a maximum of £7 per day.
So if, for example, you hired a 20 year old nanny who is contracted to work 7am to 7pm, her daily pay will be £70.80 (for this year, remember minimum wage increases next April). Then, when you deduct the £7 for her accommodation, by law you’ll have to pay her £63.80 per day.
Depending on her age you’ll also need to pay into a pension plan. Be aware that you are also liable to pay the tax and National Insurance – plus the employer's NI – for the hours you employ your nanny, regardless of her age.
So £600 a month unfortunately doesn’t come close to what you’ll need to pay her per month. I’d suggest you look at local childminder services or an au pair instead. Thanks for your response but it is local childminder I am looking for. I can only afford £600 a month. I am just asking to know how much others pay |

Good day house, ps I will like to get some explanations on this issue about a friend of mine waiting for her hubby to fill for her stay from Nigeria.
She said the hubby came to the uk as an EU spouse, the hubby was married in Germany and later the he persuaded the white lady he married to bring him to the uk, that he prefers the UK to enable him further his studies, which the white lady did, dat was in jan 2011 they came to uk. The white lady did all the immigration runnings and he got a five years stay, which he can still renew. So later in 2012 they divorced amicable bc of some circumstances , without no grudges, and the guy stayed alone. And in 2017 he applied for his permanent resident but was not given. The reason given is that he should provide a proof that the ex-wife was working in the UK bf divorce. But the problem is that he has losted contact with the lady and when contacted on Facebook, she has refused to respond . The lady av left UK. So the lawyer told him that when he is feel to apply on his own is in two years time. Which is ending of 2019. Ps house is this true? My friend has been confused and she really need to join her hubby, she is tired of staying alone here in Nigeria.
More so her husband is a surpport worker and works with diff agencies here in London. I will like to ask when he gets the permanent resident can the hubby apply for her with agency pay slips or will he need to get a full time job for this application? The man says he makes more than £18,600 in a year bc the agency pays him more. Ps any advice on this, should he switch to permanent job when he gets his permanent resident and want to fill for his spouse? |
