Whodeybreef: England have now won back to back europe u21 titles but when they reach the senior team now they'll start playing like waste men upon all their talent. There's no under 21 team that is has stacked as England that's why they are dominating. Maybe France but most of their under 21 didn't go for this tournament.

Griffon: I think it’s the LWF. If the deal goes through, It’d be a straight replacement for Nkunku and a big competition for Gittens.
We should look like this going into the season if the speculations are anything to go by:
Neto/Estevao Palmer/KDH Enzo/Santos Joao Pedro/Gittens Fair. According to Ben Jacobs, Estevao wants the number 10 position. |

andrewbaba44: A good Bayern Munich won’t win 2-1 against boca junior and loose to benfica
If you feel flamengo doesn’t stand a chance that’s fine ,Bayern are Kuku the favorites and the far better team ,but I won’t write them off as if it’s Auckland city Leave results aside and go rewatch the game. Bayern completely dominated Benfica and Boca. They missed 5 big chances against Boca and Benfica had Sane playing for them. A good PSG lost to Botafago so it happens. |

AirBere: Like the other guy said, football isn't linear and anything can happen. If A defeats B doesn't mean B will automatically defeat C but I'm surprised you've completely written Flamengo off. I think the game between Flamengo/Bayern will be tougher and much more closer than the game between City and Alhihal.
It'll be tough for all but if Inzagahi is going with his defend/hope/counter tactics, then he may get the Inter/PSG treatment. As for Bayern, they aren't that good and I won't be surprised to see Flamingo knock them out. Where's this narrative coming from? |

andrewbaba44: Bayern that struggled against boca juniors ,couldn’t beat benfica ,but he is sounding as if flamengo is Auckland city What do you mean by struggled? They completely dominated Boca and Benfica. Created 6 big chances vs boca and 4 vs Benfica. Thankfully Sane missed 3 1v1 vs Benfica to carry them away from our side of the bracket. Flamengo doesn't stand a chance against Bayern. Bayern vs Psg will be entertaining. |

Lana1: Oh. I didn't know they were using a two clubs per league metric. And honestly it doesn't make sense. 4 of the 6 South American teams are from Brazil and 3 of those 4 are topping their groups meanwhile UEFA decided to leave Barca and Liverpool at home for Salzburg and Porto. Weird decision.
Anyhow, there will be 48 teams competing in 2029 so more teams from each league should be qualifying unless they want to go and be picking teams from Belgium and Greece 4 of the last CONMEBOL Libertadores(South American champions league) were those Brazilian teams hence their qualification. If 4 different English team win the champions league as well they would qualify. The two clubs per league will still stands. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Kimbeast: 6:17pm On Jun 21, 2025 |
Lana1: UEFA didn't hand City and Chelsea anything. City and Chelsea both earned their appearance in this competition by winning UCL at least once in the last 4 years. As it is PSG, Cruz Azul and other teams from other continents that have won their continental cups this season have already qualified for the 2029 edition.
As for Barca, Liverpool and Napoli, you're right. They said they used coefficients for the last 4 years to fill the rest of the slots for teams from Europe so I dont know how Salzburg, Benfica and Porto qualify ahead of those teams. Even United is higher on coefficient ahead of Salzburg Two clubs from each league only. City and Chelsea already qualified so no English team is allowed anymore. Madrid qualified by winning the champions league and Athletico Madrid were higher than Barca in coefficient so they qualified. If your league quota is already filled the next league in the coefficient table gets the next spot. |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Kimbeast: 5:58pm On Jun 21, 2025 |
teeshet: The foolish uefa went to limit the number of clubs per country to two after giving two automatic tickets to man city and chelsea. Now barca, Liverpool, napoli cannot play because their slots were stripped and given to Salzburg, Porto and benfica And there's nothing wrong with that decision. Other leagues should also get representation. Liverpool and others should win the champions league if they want Automatic qualifications. |

Lana1: We can make a case that South America should get more slots but let's be honest, the only good teams there worth anything are Brazil and Argentina. They should be getting less spots. They are only ten nations and 6 have automatic qualifications plus another one that under goes a playoff. That's potentially 7/10 qualifying which is 70% while Europe and others are at 28% max. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Kimbeast: 5:19pm On Jun 20, 2025 |
Segadem: I’ve said this time and again, FIFA continues to show bias and favoritism toward European teams, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
Let’s take the Club World Cup format as one example: European teams often join the competition directly at the semi-final or quarter-final stage, while clubs from other continents are forced to fight their way through multiple rounds. How is this a level playing field? By the time the European teams enter, they are fresh and rested, giving them an unfair advantage and making it far more likely they will win. It’s no surprise they dominate the tournament almost every year.
Now, let’s talk about the FIFA World Cup itself , let's use the 2022 edition as an example. Europe was granted 13 qualification slots , that’s more than triple what South America (CONMEBOL) received (only 4 slots) and more than double what Africa (CAF) received (5 slots), despite Africa being the most populous continent and having the highest number of member associations.
What’s the justification? On what fair metric does Europe deserve such overwhelming representation?
This imbalance has massive implications. With 13 European teams participating, they naturally end up facing each other more often in the knockout stages, meaning one of them is guaranteed to advance. It creates a self-fulfilling cycle of dominance: more teams, more chances, more success.
Contrast that with Africa: fewer teams, tougher paths, and far less margin for error. In 2022, Morocco broke barriers by reaching the semi-final , an incredible achievement. But imagine if Morocco had faced another African team at that stage instead of a European one. One African nation would have guaranteed a place in the final , and perhaps even gone on to win it Instead, this is what European teams have been enjoyin , they will meet each other in quarter and in semis because of the multiple slots they have, the structure is set up in a way that keeps European teams apart early and places the burden of tougher draws on others.
If FIFA is serious about fairness, diversity, and global representation, then the allocation of World Cup slots must be rebalanced. Every region deserves a fair shot , not just Europe. Until then, this system will continue to tilt the odds in favor of those who already have the upper hand. On the metric of past performance at the world cup, better football structure, better talents and players, more audience, more finance etc. Fifa world cup Is the best nations going head to head not a charity organizations. Why do English teams get 4 automatic representatives in the champions league and french league gets 2, Portugal 2 etc. Do the maths |
