The point is no matter who you partner under a Flick system they will always concede goals and give chances to the opponents right from his Bayern days. Last season with Martinez they also conceded 39 league goals. If Flick can get players like Martin and Eric García to succeed in a highline and still compete for trophies then playing in a highline clearly isn’t that difficult like dayo is making it out to be.

Players like Maldini are regarded as greats because they could do the High line defending(At Milan) and low block defending (In Italian NT)

Bastoni has never shown he is competent at defending, he looks decent in the same style that allows Akanji and Darmian to look like defensive juggernauts

I am not asking for a definition of community defending. The question is why should players who excel at it today not be praised, while those who excelled at it in the past are considered great. That's the key question you have ignored.

Dona may not start for Spain. His ball playing ability is atrocious, almost comical. He's a world class shot stopper, no questions about that. Currently, i don't think he's much better than Raya.

His poor goal kick led to a panic tackle from Batsoni who was sent off which grossly affected the result of that game.

It seems you are confused. Should a player who does well in community defending be praised or not? The answer is either yes or no. You can’t say Bastoni isn’t good because he plays in community defending and he's being protected and then call another player a great for doing the same thing their entire career.
