We don't have that movie that will wow the world yet but we have the movies that are worth mentioning and whoever sees these movies and still thinks that Nollywood doesn't have a bright future, is only having a terrifying illusion. That person is a sadist.

Well done on ur post however ur pick of the bunch is jux a handfull of good movies in a sea of trashy ones. Even in the worst movie industry in the world a few gems can be brought up. For every good movie we get over 100 bad ones with recycled bull crap. Sound and picture quality for that tym was average for what it was but atleast we understood why...it was a growing industry....Not now. This excuse cannot be given to this situation at all. Nothing excuses nolly movies to come out in atleast 480p quality. Dat's dvd quality and we still haven't achieved that universally. Up till today the songs with "oh my God are they really singing this trash" music in the background, lyrics that literarily sing the plot of the movie. In this day and age. Are there no proper sound engineers who can make use of subtle tunes etc to create ambiance?

Now let's not even talk of the plots atall. Because for every great movie u brought up, there is an equally or even better movie that was made in the past. I feel presentation hinders those of u pro modern nollywood to see this. Becos a gud story will always stand the test of tym. We can always tell a gud story even a hundred years from now. Only dat unlike books, the medium used myt get too old for us to appreciate the wonderful story.

Watch today's "actors" with so many undeserved fanatics. Why does tonto dike still have a job? She's extremely unbelievable on set unles it's a village ragidy life role. Even then she tends to overreacts. The others aren't all that great. The ghanaian rubbish actors have also come to join (eg yvonne nelson and van vicker) am ghanaian btw.

Most of the movies are the same plots....appealing to the biggest audience, ladies. So u get to see unrealistic crap of a pauper marrying a royalty with a slapstick label with "the king..." Always begining it as a title.

For once I'd like olu jacobs to actually act a comdey movie without being an in your face comedy type instead of the usual aki and pawpaw, nkem owo ( who is great by the way but get annoying fast) john okafor etc. Mix it up a bit. Take risks, travel to location and shoot the movies there....we don't need over the top car explosions. We jux need brilliant stories with equally brilliant execution.

I pray for an igodo remake with proper equipement and a capable director. But I know it won't happen.

If u refuse to say the bad and always have a positive mindset when clearly things aren't heading the right way, then u'll sink even more.

I'm glad u pulled out a few gems but these movies hardly get advertised. Instead we see movies like the king has my heart bla bla bla on tv everyday. That shud give u an idea of how the industry is.

-Naruto- To the fans, I really don't know what's Special about this cartoon series
-Power Rangers- Okay, maybe I'm a lady girl and I'm not really into action, but seriously, I detest this cartoon.

The thing about India is that they've maintained their traditions, religion etc to the point that their juju is still very pure and potent. They don't send christianity, islam etc. Their ancient faiths remain very solid. So if they JAZZ YOU, it will work ten times more than say Nigeran jazz or Senegalese that's been diluted by all sorts of foreign infiltration. This is why its best to avoid them in games like soccer, where they can easily make you see 20 balls instead of one on the pitch. Which ball will you chase?

This is getting interesting. It wouldn't make much sense for Qatar to host the Afcon since the country isn't a member of CAF. In my opinion, it'll be better for the tournament to be postponed.

It doesn't make business sense however to postpone it u know. Things have been put in place, contracts have been signed etc. I welcome this with open arms. Maybe jux maybe if we see how great an afcon can look with a great atmosphere and pitches, den the following iterations will try to keep up with the pitch standard. You forgot to Mention the portability being another reason Nigerians go for a laptop than a Desktop...We are always on the go...However, Good points you mentioned above.. The Nigerian Society hasn't opened up to much development in the area of Technology..
You can imagine how difficult it is to find a gaming Clan in this Country. Even Online games are rare in this country due to tariff plans imposed on us by our Telecom providers. I pray with the gradual enlightenment that we the modern day youths are experiencing, we would realize how backwards we are in Technology and seek ways of changing such...Cos Its an eyesore

Hmmm...so right. In Ghana a ati hd5450 gpu is sold for 150$. Yes! A low level media purposed gpu sold for that price. Even the gtx 210 is advertised as "very powerful gpu for games can play all games including fifa 14" and cost about the same, a fricking gtx 210. This is done by a chinese group who ship in absolutely cheap of the line gpus with high vram (video ram) and deceive people into buying them. I got tricked once even.
Small tip: the video ram of a gpu does not indicate the strength of that gpu. U cud have a 512mb gpu wipe the floor with a 2gb gpu, say the gtx 8800 512mb and the 240gs 2gb

Proper gpus are very scarce here and can never be found new so u have to hope u can find one at the biggest online trading center "tonaton", olx isn't dat great for pc parts. A gtx 8800 which is a dx9 gpu and over 8yrs old cost as much as it did when it came out here. That's three tyms the dollar rate in ghana cedis. U wanna order an I series cpu? Well too bad...u only get core 2 duos and quad cores which cost 2x what they shud cost. If u get lucky and find an I series cpu, be ready to spend a fortune on it. Even a low level i3 cpu which is a dual core with hyper threading costs a fortune. Why!

All monitors come in small sizes and becos they have the word "led" inscribed on them, u'll have to pay a premium for them. So a 19" led monitor cud cost around 100$...yeah u heard me. 2gb of ddr3 ram is 40$ per stick. Capable power supplies are extremely hard to come by cos like u guys, most are crap chinese pos. Had my galaxy s1 stolen becos I was searching for a capable psu to run my newly acquired (at the tym) gtx 280 gpu, which by the way was power hungry. This is something that can be easily bought online in the west with a simply google search. No amount of search engine can help u in west africa.

I go to internet forum to help me with my problems like my motherboard not responding. Do u know what they tell me most of the tym?

Then they proceed to actually recommend affordable motherboards for me. Do u know how I feel everytym that happens? I die a little insyd. Becos I can't get this in my country and even if I did, it'll cost me all my savings for a year (at that tym). These were guys my age mostly who cud easily afford and recommend stuff without even trying to fix their motherboard. They weren't rich, things were jux affordable for them. So I actually search and search till I find a forum where I can actually try and fix my motherboard, mostly to no avail...so that means no desktop for me for a long tym.

I hear ur "on the go" claim and I agree to an extent...tell me how many nigerians have state of the art laptops to play games (except fifa and pes)that move like slideshows, or simply capable lappies?

West africa is lagging behind technology too much. I have yet to see a blu ray player in anybody's house. The only bluray discs I have laid my eyes on are ps3 games. That's how bad it is. Cheaply made hd tvs, u know, the casual line, are very expensive....becos...it's a hdtv. Old and small sized plasmas cost 700$, thats the least.

I won't even goto the isp problems we encounter.
