RomanceRe: Marrying A Woman Who Can't Cook by Kimmo(f): 5:52pm On Jun 02, 2012
Lowkeys: NAIJA AND THEIR OWN AWFUL MENTALITY undecided IS THAT A CRITERIA FOR MARRIAGE? THAT IS WHY YOU CAN NEVER PLEASE AN AVERAGE NAIJA MAN.
What's wrong with our mentality?! Please. Men and women have specific roles assigned to them. One of the women's roles is to BE the woman in that marriage. That includes cooking. It is NOT slavery. There's a thin line between independent woman and bitter divorcee. Why do u think there's such a high divorce rate in ur wonderful western world with the wise mentality?! Because, for the sake of balance, there has to be a MAN and a WOMAN. Evn gay couples hav their masculine/feminine version.

If I were a guy, I wld def NOT marry a girl that cannot cook. Shikena.
PoliticsRe: NUPENG Threatens Strike Over Sacked Lagos Doctors by Kimmo(f): 3:36pm On May 26, 2012
texazzpete: Obviously they want to help Fashola do his job. Remember Fashola swore an oath to preserve the lives and property of Lagosians, an oath he now cares nothing for as he sits happily by while ordinary Lagosians suffer.

I think any sane Nigerian can easily see that the doctors demands are not extravagant and can easily be met by the Lagos state government. When a governor puts his ego above the welfare of his people, you can understand why people need to act quickly to restore sanity.

Actually, I think we're just being impatient. Let's see where Fashola is going with this. Most of us who commented here are on the outside looking in, and hear ridiculously biased versions of the truth. I don't know the truth either, but I do know, that Fashola isn't being unreasonable. Has anyone here ever been to a Lagos state hospital? These doctors are like Nepa, evn when they aren't on strike, their functionality is below par. They show up at 10am for outpatient clinics, and if 10 drs are assigned to work there, be very thankful if u get 5. Surgeries are postponed all the time for completely frivolous reasons. Actually, I was on their side when I heard at first that they were fighting for better working conditions, in which case I thought ALL hospital workers shld join in. But more salary? For what?! These ppl leave house officers (newly grad students) alone at the emergency section to do what they like with people's lives. And having them constantly threaten us with strikehuh?! Why aren't people annoyed bou that? They r always either on strike, threatening to go on strike, or just resuming! Ah ahn!
Fashola is a learned, responsible adult, let's see where he's going with this before we crucify him.
Christianity EtcRe: Lagos Shuts Down Lord’s Chosen, 6 Other Churches by Kimmo(f): 8:23pm On Feb 21, 2012
Habaa people. The moslems r jus for a few minutes each morning (we hardly hear d others during the day because of the surround sound) and it's just one person with a mega phone, not an entire congregation casting out witches/wizards. Evn the morning one sef, many evangelists go about with bells before dawn, asking us all to change from our fornicating ways etc. There's a fire/brimstone church one one side of my house, and a mosque on the other. Trust me, the difference is veeery clear.
FamilyRe: My Wife Speaks In Tongues And Also Prophecy In Tongue Too -but I Dislike It by Kimmo(f): 8:04pm On Feb 21, 2012
Na wa ooo, I dnt knw why this man's complaints make him a villain oh . . I dunno bou d practice in Winners, but d way ds new age tongues is ehn, I don't blame him at all. I knw for a fact that some of these churches teach tongues like a course. Gone r the days when ppl pray in clear lingo. I'm sure it looks to him like it's a fad, something that's all d rage these days. Ppl who speak in tongues feel that they r absolved of all other laws that bind us as humans, n I've been in close quarters wth someone whose newfound love was spiritual thngs, n it's not as straightforward n true as we think. As a student, my mates in uni used to speak in tongues, then we'd all go clubbing a few hrs later.
Again, ur being baptist might b a factor too, (I'm anglican)those of us who were raised in orthodox churches simply choose to hold on to our faith the way we always have. In good old English, yoruba, or others
Music/RadioRe: Have Nigerians Taken Remixing Overboard? by Kimmo(f): 11:36am On Feb 16, 2012
So true. Most of them r just plain lazy n find it easier to change an 'oh' to an 'ah'. At. 2 different points in d song, then sell if off as a remix. I'll disagree with sooneone who said Nigerian music ws basically a watse of time. It isn't. Americans r no btter, when u com to thnk about it. Look at d Nicki Minaj debacle, for instance, it says something about d state of music in d world today if Minaj is evn known at all. Oh, sisi eko by Darey (original) wasn't bad at all,I haven't heard d remix, but I loiked d original

This just makes me miss WHouston evn more. Msheww. I neva understood what d appeal in Lady gaga was, much less this Miss-with-plastic-surgery-I-stand Minaj. When the music isn't that good, they need al sorts of ridiculous props to augm 4
ent it n make the world listen
