SportsRe: Kenyan Abraham Kipton Wins Lagos City Marathon 2017 (Photos) by kimond101:
He trained hard for it.
It's not easy to run Third Mainland Bridge. Even driving on that bridge seems quite long.
So for him to have won the marathon a second time mean he has a high level endurance.
Congrats to him and to all that finished the race.

*Brazil is to soccer as Kenya is to marathon*

That's disrespectful.
CrimeRe: Two Men Rape A Woman In A Mosque In Oyo. Rob Her Afterwards (Photo) by kimond101: 7:37pm On Feb 07, 2017
Honestly speaking,
I read some comments with disgust.
Someone got raped in a mosque and what some people have to contribute to the topic is tribalism and religious bigotism.
You all have to remember the day you die. All these comments of yours you would be accountable on the day of judgement be it in the Christian faith or Muslim faith.
It is better to remain silent than to crack irrelevant jokes trying to make people that don't really matter laugh or give your comment a like.

Friends expected me to come back and do a big wedding in lagos.
But as it was we used the money to start our new life

FamilyRe: How Did You Propose To Your Wife? by kimond101: 10:11pm On Jun 16, 2016
I put the engagement ring on my wife finger in between Sha'fi and Witr.
*This is the 3 rakah voluntary prayer(divided into 2 and 1) which one makes after the last prayer of the day in Islam.
The space between Sha'fi and Witr is very short to even say long words.
So after giving her the ring we stood up and prayed Witr.

Yes I might not be Mr. Romantic but we got to strive hard to get Jannah in sha Allah
CareerRe: Civil Servants And Their Attitude To Work!!!! by kimond101: 6:39am On Jun 13, 2016
I get your gist and I don't doubt you one bit.
Before you can change the condition of a specific people you have to change the condition of your own self.
Most Nigerian civil servants are lazy and that is confirmed. But it all falls back on which ministry/parastatal it is aswell as which state. The admin department of these ministries may even be too lazy to do their own work appropriately by giving queries to staff that err
And yet they all want increment in salary.

HealthRe: Why People Say Bless You After Sneezing..... Answers by kimond101: 11:49am On Jun 05, 2016
I don't know about saying "Bless you " but in Islam we are encouraged to say "Alhamdullilah "

The narrations of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) encourage us to say “Alhamdulillah” when we sneeze.

“Alhamdulillah” means “All praise is due to Allah”. A rightfully curious mind will wonder why are we supposed to express our gratitude to Allah for the insignificant act of sneezing. On the contrary, sneezing is no insignificant reaction of the body. Sneezing is a great blessing from Allah where various muscle groups come in to play. The muscles of the stomach, chest, neck and eyes are used for this seemingly insignificant reaction of the body.

Some of the reasons for saying “Alhamdulillah” are as follows:

1) Harmful substances contained in the body are dispelled when one sneezes. Especially when the harmful substances are strong, an odour can be smelt. We are saved from many sicknesses and diseases by the mere act of naturally sneezing as these harmful substances are expelled.

2) Our entire lives are in the control of Allah. If Allah wishes, he may cause our bodies to cease where we will not be able to make even the slightest move. When one sneezes, a person’s face becomes distorted for those few seconds. If Allah wished, he could have kept us with the same distorted expression permanently. It is only through the mercy and grace of Allah, that he grants us our normal expressions again.

3) When a person sneezes, the eyes automatically close. By the eyes remaining open, potential damage can be caused to the eyes. Allah causes the eyes to close to save us from such harm.

4) Sneezing generally causes the breathing passages to open up, thus allowing a person to breathe easily. In exchange of the many benefits we enjoy from sneezing naturally, it is only fair that we say our heartfelt gratitude to Allah by saying “Alhamdulillah”

And Allah Knows Best

so no gas in lagos apart from niger delta supplying them?
This added to the existing problems of lack of raw material and access to foreign exchange. And no market for their products
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Bleeds As Pipeline Bombings, Vandalism Wreaks Economy by kimond101: 8:21am On Jun 04, 2016
Too many things happening at the same time in this country.

The bombings of pipelines had made a popular enamelware factory in lagos to sack over 200 of its staff last month due to no gas supply from their main supplier in the Niger delta region.

Some people would still say Buhari response to the insult of Nigeria from the British Prime minister wasn't proper.

UK is corrupt while Nigeria is extraordinarily corrupt. Only that the system of one country works better than the other when it comes to addressing corruption.

u see sentiment, what about plpp who are not gov workers? are dey not going to b affected by this new oil price?
We all know the outcome of the fuel subsity removal strike which is on a dead end as the government might just reduce the fuel price by some few naira and NLC would shut up.
I am not comfortable with the fuel increase but I won't tolerate marketers collectin free money in the name of subsidy while the citizens still suffer.

......... First how much do you earn as a 'civil' servant?..... Secondly, how much do you spend on transportation daily to work initially and how much now?.... If indeed you are a civil servant with family dependents, I will be surprised at your stand....... Just hoping your one.
You seem to be analysing the immediate effects of the subsidy removal.

The long term effect of the subsidy removal is an advantage to the country as the money would be invested in some other sector and developments.

It seems you haven't queued for fuel in the past couple of weeks. The marketers we pay subsidy to are not delivering and the rate of fuel at filling stations run as high as 300 naira per litre if not more.

The suffering in this country is surplus but one can obviously know what the outcome of the strike could be which is either the government ignores the NLC or reduce the fuel rate to 100 naira + which was their initial target.

I never said I'm comfortable with the increase, but I won't tolerate marketers taking free money from the government while the citizens are suffering.

You need to stop assuming.I don't like the increment but I agree with the removal of subsidy.

Yes it's quite a big pain buying PMS at 145naira but what is the point of queueing with ones productive manhours and at the end of the day the oil marketers would be getting free money from the government.

I am a Civil Servant and I do not endorse going on an indefinite strike because of the removal of subsidy.
If the strike is for an increment in minimum wage then I would endorse.

PoliticsRe: Governors Show Less Concern As Fuel Scarcity Bites Harder by kimond101:
I queued for 11 hours yesterday at NNPC ikoyi.
Left home around 7am with the intension of meeting little queue only to find out that the queue extended from ikoyi club road to the road that has Forte Oil in Obalende. I bought fuel around 6:30pm.
I was annoyed and disappointed I wasnt able to get fuel inside jerry can aswell.
Theres even corruption on the fuel queue, where people bribe some certain individual to allow them jump queue.

Hard times!

How did he know that was Fayose?

And what made him have his phone to capture such a moment at that time? Was he expecting them to do so?
My thoughts.

My statement doesn't justify the actions of those in the convoy. But we shouldnt just tolerate reports that is incomplete and might be a false accusation.

What I know for sure is Nigerians are really suffering due to this fuel crisis. Queuing at a filling station for close to an hour on a Sunday morning is now normal.
Like yesterday whilst queueing for fuel I saw this man carrying his generator from the filling station under the rain.

E go better!
