Further analysis showed that there is a reduction in the basic healthcare fund by N 26 . 51 bn from N 44 . 49bn to N 17 . 98 bn.
Similarly , the proposal stated that the Federal Government was planning to reduce anniversaries/ celebrations by N 3 . 08 bn , computer software N 3 . 14 bn , office buildings N 24 . 86 bn , residential buildings N 479. 6 m, monitoring and evaluation N 10 . 8 bn , land acquisition N 1 . 45bn , computers N 1 . 9bn , purchase of motor vehicles N 5. 25 bn , and office furniture N 3 . 94bn.

Politics › Re: Caverton Helicopters VS Wike: Why Many Businesses Prefer Lagos by Kinematics: 8:23pm On Apr 09, 2020 |
9jatriot: [s]Port Harcourt as well as Warri used to be the darling state of many big and small oil and gas companies just a few years ago, but that is no longer the case because of similar situation as the one orchestrated by Wike in grounding the operations of Caverton Helicopters.
In spite of the multiple taxation in Lagos, the hold up, the many peculiar challenges in Lagos, many companies will rather have their businesses located in Lagos perceived to be the land of the "godfather" than in these places where their operation takes place.
Even indigenes of some of these places will rather leave their families in Lagos as they continue to work in locations like PH.
Caverton Helicopters has no choice because of their operation but to continue to operate in Port Harcourt anyway since they have no choice, but look at the ripple effect, many investors will remember this in future and locate their businesses in states where the state governor cannot just come and close their shop.
Those pilots presently under arrest pay the pensonal income tax to Rivers state, which means for every company that could have located their businesses in Rivers state but did not, that is an IGR lost and you wonder why our states are not innovative.[/s] Rubbish! |

Enwhen: Their charges for browsing are almost thesame...if the service is fast u consumed more...it is not possible for MTN to charge u for what u didn't use , u cant off ur internet connection and MTN will charge u for it... Minimise your data, set your phone to DATA SAVER..., go to applications and OFF DATA for all applications not in use because they also consume data in updating everyday , depend on ur settings...check your calculations again if applications data consumed is part of it...like u said , I stop using MTN for over a year , it was when I started having slow service in Airtel, that I switched back , and they didn't disappoint...for their cheap data package I don't think am going back to Airtel until Airtel also comes up cheaper data plan.....that's the benefits of competition, how I wish they can do same for PHCN. I use same internet speed meter for both networks. I can confidently tell you that MTN eats more. I currently have 25mb left on my MTN, I just switch to MTN now to confirm my suspicion again. I open just nairaland, just the front page and over 8mb is gone. Switched back to airtel. Opened same front page and consume just 581kbDog no dey bite person 2 times. I know airtel zaps data at peak period, but not as bad as what MTN is showing me. |

Honestly dont know what came over airtel in the last 3 months. All of a sudden their internet became rubbish just like glo. I tried MTN for the first time and I agree with you, MTN is currently the best. But I had to run back to airtel after MTN showed me pepper. Zapping 10gig in 1 week. There is a lock down in river state , the minister should have informed the state government of their coming. He is not doing that to take permission but to inform the state , knowing fully well there’s a lock down in the state. This is still in the quest to prevent possible spread of the virus. Even wike acknowledged he does not have powers to stop flights from coming into the airport, all he asked for is to be carried along, only for the useless federal government in its characteristic way of been incompetent n careless to ignore n give a clearance into a state without the knowledge of the governor in place.

senatordave1: My question is why will they try to undermine wike in a pandemic that has affected even the villa? Anyway, the vip passengers must be located and quarantined asap This you should ask the FG what were they trying to do by giving Caverton the go ahead without notifying Wike. Seems you still dont get the point. You prefer anarchy. Airforce base is not like a transit point for these workers, whereby they fly in and wait at the strip for another flight to take them to their final destination which in this point should be another State or country. Thses are people that are coming into Rivers state and will come in contact with some of the Caverton/base staff that live in PH as well. Importing COVID-19 into the state. |

[s]Concerning ncdc,it is a federal agency answerable to the fg and Nigeria not rivers government[/s].im several states they have announced cases without telling the government first.its not compulsory.in that same regard, several states who are proactive have even announced cases without waiting for ncdc. But in summary, rivers must work with fg to combat this.this isnt the time for politics or pecuniary battles You are still getting it wrong. You know why AKS contested their result of 5 cases of COVID-19 in the state at first? Because the Government of the state were not informed. You say its not compulsory, but when shit starts you will blame the governor first before you look at FG. FG cannot be doing things without informing the CSO of a place. Even the chopper they are flying when they get to their base they cant land without telling the person in radio room of their arrival and their mission. The issue is FG is trying to undermine Wike. That's simple. Ask yourself why did NNPC, NLNG that all belong to FG applied for a waiver in the state? Is caverton bigger than those? |

Well done sir! What has the FG done to control the spread of COVID-19 in Rivers State? What assurance do they have that none of the passengers including the pilots is carrying the virus? I believe you want the current situation in Lagos to occur in Rivers. The aviation industry or business is regulated by the federal government of Nigeria... PERIOD and this the law in Nigeria... Rivers State does not regulate the aviation business in any way, shape or form....
The statement above despite just a statement it's only those with common sense that will be able to understand the depth of it... Does not matter if you have Phd, if no common sense then you obviously had missed the point as of yesterday.
To help stimulate una brain... If the government of USA send a plane to Rivers State to pick up US citizens in the midst of this covid-19 and ban situation.... and the federal government give them the permission to fly into Nigeria (Rivers State Airport)... Will Wike arrest the pilots?... Who controls or owns the airspace over Rivers State?... If Wike's family was sick from any ailment and this family member needs to be flown to Lagos for treatment will Wike say wait there is a ban or hire a plan or helicopter or car to ferry this ill person to Lagos despite the ban?
Again, my people perish for lack of common sense.
No governor has the right to arrest any person... It's only law enforcement institution that can do that... Again this is the law in Rivers State and Nigeria as at when this event happened. [/s] Your example is flawed. These are chopper helicopters that take offshore workers(including foreigners AKA expatriates) to and fro. This people will mix with the people in Rivers State without any measure put in place by the FG to curb the spread of coronavirus in Rivers State. You can't allow Wike to just sit down and watch. And that is what makes this power play quite embarrassing. It's a private owned company and airstrip, not an airport belonging to FG. They can only fly and land at FG airports(if FG permits), but must not step their feet out of the airport else Wike got the right to grab them. Caverton is a private company and operates within the governor's jurisdiction. |
