Obama has the constitutional right to strike syria without congressional approval. No Obama does not have the right to invade a country without the congress vote. The constitution states that he can only order an invasion or declare war on a sovereign nation when that nation is a threat or has attacked the United States. Syria right now has done nothing to America for Obama to invade them without the congress backing. That's an impeachable offense, go and do your research. Secondly, this would be a senseless war because it would cause many years of unrest around that region, Syria,Isreal,Lebanon and co would never have peace for years to come.

I think the problem you, and many jonathan apologist, have is that you think it is the role of opposition to spoon feed a government in power .

You are wrong. And I can understand why you would think so because since the advent of democracy in this country we have never had a virile and viable opposition at the center until now.

An opposition is a government in waiting and its major role, outside of planning a coup or treason, is to project the ruling government negatively and exploit its weaknesses and mistakes as much as possible.

It is a struggle for power and seriously there is nothing like constructive or destructive criticism or personal attack. Just look at how the democrats and the liberal press dealt with George bush jnr and the way the republicans and conservative press dealt with Bill Clinton and the way they are dealing with barrack Obama .

To me, the best thing that can happen to our democracy is a viable opposition party.

For me, i think the problem is that they see most criticisms of Jonathan from a faulty prism of ethnicity and religion. They also seems to misconstrue struggle for power amongst politicians negatively as well. Some of them do not really understand how opposition politics works even in the most civilized of democracies.

The problem with this kind of position is that it is very difficult to have a rational argument with such people.

That is why most times i ignore them because i understand why they sometimes rant so senselessly.
