Politics › Re: Nnamdi Kanu's Arrest, Bail......scam Or A Game. Opinion by kingbasil: 8:58am On Oct 20, 2015 |
AyeeIdris: Ok. Smart Alec. First of all, The VANGUARD newspaper didn't carry his story. It was online. You and i know how online stories are fabricated everyday...case and point...Sahara reporters. Many times on this forum, that same Vanguard ngr has been debunked for spreading falsehood. And news of this nature, EVERY paper would carry it, even the 'yoruba' newspapers. You may say they who skewer the information to favour whoever pays their paycheck but they will carry it.
2. I didn't say Kanu was a criminal. Your Vanguard paper, which you are alluding to, implied that he is. Or else why will they carry a report that he has been granted bail. You have to be charged on some kind of criminal offence to be granted bail. So if you say he is not facing criminal charges, then they will be no need to be granted bail.....and then that would mean Vanguard ngr is wrong which goes back to point one
3. I could put a bunch of links that shows DSS denying having him, but you would say the sources are not authentic and i could probably agree with you there. I take everything i read online with a 'bucket' of salt. These are some links
http://www.itomienews.com/latest-news/we-dont-have-him-dss-denies-arresting-radio-biafra-director-nnamdi-kanu/
http://happenings.com.ng/we-dont-have-him-in-our-custody-dss-denies-arresting-radio-biafras-directorthe-department-of-state-services-dss-has-said-it-is-not-aware-of-the-purported-arrest-of-one-nnamdi-kanu-the-director/
(I am not vouching for these links, as no major newspaper has carried it, but this is out there anyways)
But it begs the question. why would they lie? No disrespect but Nnamdi Kanu is not that big a fish in the Nigerian scene. I believe higher profile Niger Delta strong men have been arrested and the Government didnt hide it. Why him? Why no pictures?
Like I said, I am not trying to convince you that this doesn't feel right. Let your instincts guide you. Till date, i tell everyone that Chibok girls is the biggest Naija scam of 2014. I follow my guts. If this turns out that i am wrong and he was truly arrested and all, i will admit that i was wrong. It is not a big deal, seriously.
Stop with the oluwole certificate thing. It is disrespectful @bolded should be the mystery in the whole saga. What effort do you think the intelligence outfit have done to uncover the supposed mask or facade shadowing #Nnamdikanu |

Politics › Re: Abuja Blasts Signify Boko Haram’s Last Gasps by kingbasil: 11:02pm On Oct 07, 2015 |
[s] IbnSultaan: Last Friday’s bomb blasts in Abuja that claimed no fewer than 20 lives and scores of injured people must be seen as the handiwork of the architects of terror. More significantly, the explosions represent the last kicks of a disorganised Boko Haram, a terror group that has been decimated by the superior firepower of the armed forces and security agencies. Ever since Boko Haram militants were dislodged by soldiers from their forest hideouts in the north, the members have been looking to regroup as they search for new places of abode. Boko Haram is desperate. The terror group is approaching a breaking point. The more distressed the leaders become, the more suicidal and audacious their actions are likely to become. Sadly, while leaders of the evil organisation recruit, brainwash, and radicalise teenagers to carry out suicide bombings on the false assurance that they will receive their reward in heaven, the same leaders make conscious efforts to safeguard their own lives so they can continue to enjoy life to the maximum. That is the paradox of Boko Haram’s ideology and weird religious practices. They misinform and delude vulnerable youth in our society on the basis of a crank religious creed and false promises. Why can’t Boko Haram leaders make haste to take their own lives so they can quickly receive their so-called reward in heaven? The leaders of Boko Haram are approaching their twilight. Some of the famished and distraught members are handing themselves in to security agents. Other members and their leaders are on the run, as they try to evade capture by soldiers. They have tried every trick and failed. Suicide bombing has become the evil organisation’s preferred way of sending a message of fear. Boko Haram is running out of options. Soldiers have smoked them out from their forest hiding places and now the terrorists have resorted to using teenage suicide bombers to create the impression they are not suffering casualties in the war front. It is all a smokescreen. The fact is that Boko Haram militants have been dislodged from their previous impenetrable Sambisa Forest hideouts. Now, they have dispersed across the northern states and are engaging in hit-and-run bomb explosions to create the impression they are still a formidable and organised terror group. That is no longer the case and the soldiers chasing them understand that sporadic bomb explosions are what civil society can expect from a terrorist organisation that has nowhere to hide, to regroup, or to strategise. The public should expect more of these irregular bomb explosions until the remnants of the terror group have been rounded up or obliterated. The armed forces and state security agents need time, patience, and determination to see through this last phase of the campaign to drive away the terror group that used the northern states as the bastion of their evil operations and machinations. In his official response to the Abuja bomb blasts, President Muhammadu Buhari described the blasts as “cowardly attacks”. He said the war between security forces and Boko Haram militants is not driven by ideology, no matter how quaint Boko Haram’s philosophy might be. Buhari said: “It is clear this battle is not ideological. It is between the forces of peace and order and the evil forces of murder and destruction.” He continued: “This government is determined to stamp out Boko Haram and all other terrorists of whatever persuasions and bring all sponsors to justice.” There are two or three implicit messages in Boko Haram’s continued use of suicide bombers to cause death, destruction, and fear. One, the organisation wants to convey the message that even in its disorganised state, even as the armed forces try to demolish the remaining ragtag members of the terror group, the insurgents still have the capacity and a pool of teenagers ready to strike Abuja and other strategic cities anytime and anywhere they choose. Two, Boko Haram believes that the continued death and destruction of civilian population could help to strike fear into the hearts of citizens and to show that it has the terrorists, the weapons, and the determination continue to embarrass the armed forces and other security forces https://www.today.ng/blog/22341/abuja-blasts-signify-boko-harams-last-gasps/ [/s] |

[s]It has become a serious concern to me the way the Igbos are overheating the polity primarily because their preferred candidate GEJ lost the last election. They are fruitlessly employing all avenues to whip up sentiment and garner sympathy to further their lost cause by discrediting the administration of PMB. If you've not seen the scenario of a man crying more than the bereaved before then the Igbo lamentations for Jonathan lost to the peaceful carriage of an Ijaw man after the election should avail that opportunity. I observed that this set of people are not good at propaganda as most of their information are distorted and disjointed hence cannot appeal to a reasonable mind. Somehow, they will find a way to tell their contemptuous south south neighbours how there's a grand conspiracy by the hausa-fulani /Yoruba to marginalize them because of their oil, They will alert the Yoruba how the hausa-fulani has orchestrated plan to invade, islamize and colonize them. They will tell the middle beltan how the fulani has been killing their people without Buhari's response. Haba Igbos, na only una Waka come? Can't you figure out that no Nigerian is telling you something about the so called fulani agenda that you've make us all to dread? I am from benue state and i can confidently tell you not to cry for us as we are known veteran warriors. It is also noteworthy that the media chooses what to report probably because of interest, if not, to any one my people that was killed by fulani herdsmen i assured you that they've lost close to ten men and hundreds of cows . this is only verifiable from the locals and not the media. Finally I'll want to ask those that are soliciting our sympathy for war by telling us how much damage fulani have caused us that, how many hausa-fulani people have they kill after the pogrom, series of unprovoked attack against the Igbos in many states of the core north and paramountly the genocide of the civil war. Enough of this Igbo vague sentiment. [/s] Wake up to the realities facing you. Mkpi like you... go straf goat... |

By Jay Akbar For Mailonline 20:53 10 Jul 2015, updated 22:58 10 Jul 2015
The footage bears all the hallmarks of an Islamic State propaganda video Shows Boko Haram fighters battling Nigerian troops in unknown location.
Captured soldier is forced to kneel before he is shot dead and decapitated
Somali terror group Al-Shabaab's merger with Islamic State is 'imminent'
Boko Haram has set a terrifying new precedent by releasing its first gruesome video of a beheading since it pledged allegiance to ISIS.
The video adopts many of the same style-points as the hundreds of barbaric videos released by ISIS over the last year.
The 'west Africa' insignia in the top-left corner suggests the terror group has set up a new so-called media wing in the country.
It comes on the same day that MailOnline learned of a Somali terror group's intentions to join ISIS - which would extend its so-called caliphate to east-Africa.

Boko Haram fighters exchange machine gun fire with the troops and launch heavy mortar grenades on their locations.
It shows them standing proudly next to the corpses of scorched Nigerian troops - and showing off their security badges to the camera.
The video ends with the senseless murder of a captured African Union soldier. With a look of true horror on his face, the man kneels in front of three masked Boko Haram fanatics - two of whom point AK47s at his head.
The video then cuts to reveal his decapitated body lying motionless on the floor.
Islamic State accepted a pledge of allegiance from Boko Haram, who were responsible for the deaths of over 10,000 in Nigeria in 2014, in March this year.
The audio message entitled 'kill and be killed' - released through the militants' vast social media channels - was read by an ISIS spokesperson who also threatened further violence against the Christian and Jewish communities.

Battle: The 10 minute video begins with a shoot out between the extremists and national forces
Mimic: This video is very like the ones Islamic State produce - even down to the logo in the corner
Speaking for his leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the man in the recording says: 'We announce to you to the good news of the expansion of the caliphate to West Africa.
'Our caliph has accepted the pledge of loyalty of our brothers of Boko Haram so we congratulate Muslims and our jihadi brothers in West Africa.'
The militants have been waging a six-year insurgency to impose strict Shariah law in Nigeria and earlier this year it launched attacks across the border on Cameroon - before striking Niger and Chad.
The group has killed thousands in bomb attacks and violent sieges on villages in the remote north-east, and are now feared to be spilling over into neighbouring Cameroon and Chad.
It inspired five African nations agreed to form a coalition to take the group on and 8,700 troops from Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, Niger and Benin are expected to begin operations before the end of next month.
Only today, MailOnline learned that Somali terror group Al-Shabaab could soon scrap its allegiance to Al-Qaeda and pledge loyalty to rivals ISIS instead.
Islamic State invited the east-African jihadi group to join forces with them through a propaganda video released in March - urging it to wage jihad on neighbouring Kenya, Ethiopia and Tanzania.
Militants: Somali terror group Al-Shabaab (pictured) could scrap its allegiance to Al-Qaeda and pledge loyalty to rivals ISIS instead
Invitation: Islamic State urged the east-African jihadi group to join forces with them through a propaganda video (pictured) released in March
Territory: Al-Shabaab still controls some territory inside Somalia and has executed 150 attacks on the Somali military in June alone. It has also executed cross-border raids on the Kenyan towns of Hulugho and Mandera - where it slaughtered over 50 peacekeepers in a single attack
Now Al-Shabaab members and sources within the Somali army suggest the invitation will be accepted and the group - which commands around 9,000 fighters - will soon extend ISIS's self-proclaimed caliphate to east-Africa.
The decision comes at a time when many of Al-Shabaab's local and foreign leaders are being killed by commando raids and drone strikes, the group is rapidly losing territory and its money is running out as a result.
Security expert Ryan Cummings says that ISIS' desire to merge with Al-Shabaab is part of its international expansion plan.
'Al-Shabaab is the largest jihadi movement in East Africa, and central to the core mandate of ISIS is the unification of the Muslim world,' a counter-terrorism expert told CNN at the time.
Ryan Cummings added that a merger 'would be a significant ideological victory for the group [ISIS]. It would be massive from a public relations perspective, which is central to the Islamic State's operations.
'The Islamic State still wants to create the perception that it's growing and branching out to various parts of the world.
The only way that it will be able to achieve this will be to have groups serving as an extension in their various areas of operation.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3156551/Like-master-like-servant-Nigerian-terror-group-Boko-Haram-releases-beheading-video-pledging-allegiance-ISIS.html#v-4348590542001 |
