Swagsultan1: The staff had a meeting with the DG on Friday and he promised there was going to be a review of their salary and they MAY get a 50 to 100% increase soon. He didn’t give a timeframe and even with 100% increase, the salary still won’t be up to 700k because current salary at entry level is about 260k Una know the type of federal govt work wey level 8-step 1 go dey collect up to 700k net monthly ?....lmao |

kalia01: My brother, Please take note of this.
1. NUPRC and NMDPRA receive the same salary. 2. They also receive the same allowances. 3. The only difference between them is their name—NUPRC and NMDPRA. 4. The difference in their salary and allowances is only 2,000 or 3,000.
Please take note of this.
Additionally, I prefer junior staff of Almighty NMDPRA at Level 6 ( JS1) over Level 10 or 12 staff from NCC, NDIC, and NSIA. They way people lie with confidence here ....shocks me. |

Pluto999: Not to be rude but your name speaks a lot about you. GT salary isn’t up to 1.6m. Salary before wasn’t up to 800k, that’s why people were leaving to NUPRC cos NUPRC paid more than a mil but later on they had a salary increment of almost 60%. Salary doesn’t include allowances. Please do your research before speaking. It speaks very little of you as an individual. Always speaking English.......talk and talk but no figures, I've told you to stop deceiving people. If you Don't know the exact figure just keep quiet. Nnpc have staff that collect salaries up to 4m a month |

Oil and gas are not hot anymore considering the bills BAT is passing. NNPCL GT gets about 1m in salary which is kinda the same as what they get in NIMASA too. NUPRC and NMDPRA were former DPR. DPR never had two different salary scale for its Upstream and Midstream departments. The two are just like different departments in an agency.
They operate on same level and same salary scale. Mtcheewwwww. I wonder why I even waste my time with you. Just talk, talk, talk and arguing blindly no facts no figures ...nothing Nuprc= part DPR Nmdpra= part DPR, PEF & PPPRA They don't have the same salary, upstream pays higher |

So my friend with the way you talk so highly about this your abroad I see no reason why you're here. All this your mr I know it all energy should be channeled into the travel section and definitely not here.
This is 2026 my friend, with how all European countries and are tightening their immigration law should send a message that the so called abroad is no longer as rosy as it use to be. So chill. smartkester: Eyah! Your mindset is limited sorry to say. In this present age, people no longer japa because of money. People are looking for decent working system. Even those earning over 200m yearly in some top Oil companies still left Nigeria to Canada to get PR. Bro, Japa is now beyond money and even if it's about the money, NNPC is overly rated except you want to steal. When you see people resigning coys like Shell, ExxonMobil and the likes to migrate abroad Wetin be NNPC?
There's no such thing as GL 8 in NNPC. It's SS1-SS6 Lmao na small piking still dey worry you. Most MDA's run on ss & mss scale, but for clarity sake & ease of conveyance of my message I used the level 8 SS6 is equivalent to level 8, some organisations it's even ss4. Back to the matter to the matter at hand, like I said na small piking dey worry you. With $70-100k you can easily passport In one of the islands. Small children are earning cool cash legitimately, you're talking of stealing. The person I saw with the salary no pass 26yr If you see anybody resigning from ioc to japa the person falls In these categories 1 na nepo baby 2 has worked long enough to be financially free from 9-5 and wants to do other things 3 most of them are on transfer to other countries for assignment If you don't even know its better for you to work In IOC here than IOC in Europe. salary is the same rate. It's only US that has far higher salaries. Generally salaries in US are usually far higher than other countries. Cost of living here is very cheap. Although growth here is mixed with politics. Go and check many guys with families abroad, the main bread winner is here in nigeria. It's your japa cry that is rather overhyped. |

smartkester: Firstly, sorry but you are wrong. They don't beg people with Shell job. Who are you that Shell will be begging you and you mentioned he gave it to another person. That's a big lie, if you understand how these multinationals work you won't spew this. Not even a senator can help you get job with Shell. It's either you merit it or not and if you decline the offer you can't give it to someone else, IMPOSSIBLE.
Secondly, except you are aspiring to become a thief, nothing lucrative about Government job.
The Faruk's example you gave is a sad reality of the systemic failure of the nation. Corruption thrives in the nation that's why every Jack and Jill wants to get to the helm of affairs and loot too.
If you see anyone coming back from the abroad working with a Multinational to take a government job, they have a deep motive for doing that not because government work is normally juicy. Lmao ......I use to think like this too, being logical in everything. "Everything must add up" lmao The things I've seen, have made me question my belief system. These days I no dey doubt anything. Omo the race is not for swift, strong, intelligent, wise but time and chance happens to all. There are people that got jobs at multinationals via hanging out with random guys at a night club You not wrong. Especially for top MDAs For example in nigeria there are about less than 500 chartered CFA persons in Nigeria You'll be shocked to hear that 44 of them work in government agencies/regulators about 18 or 19 in CBN These guys aren't outliers Go and check the resume of the new boys that NSIA employed. |

Children of nobody would work hard, graduate, apply for job, meet all the requirements, but their applications is mostly discarded in favor of giving slots to politicians.
More often than not, most of these slot candidates can't even lace d boots of true applicants with robust qualifications But Because they don't know 'somebody' they mostly ain't even considered. Nelly9kelly: Very insightful points shared here. However, I’d like to pose a general question ,in cases where an employee, whether in government service or a private firm, experiences a serious health condition, accident, or loss of a body part that leaves them unable to work for years, does the organization continue to pay salaries or provide any long-term support? I think it’s also important to factor in such unforeseen circumstances as we plan our careers, even though we don’t pray for them. Incase of sickness for FG it depends on certain factors. -Grade level of the affected person -The Mda the person is working with (each mda different) -how long is the illness (few months, running in years) In this case you asked for years, if the illness or injury was caused during work. The mda will most likely cover majority of bills (surgery or even fly you abroad) While your salary and allowances will be intact. At most they will redeploy you to a department that doesn't need much work so that you still be an employee while taking care of yourself. Highest when its time for staff audit, you go show face mark attendance and be going. If the person is a senior grade level he won't even need to come sef, his mates will cover up for him ....and life goes on. Generally Fg workers are compassionate with each other in cases like this except the person affect is a bad person that people don't like. Some mda even cover retired staff medical expenses with their spouse even for things like surgery. But if the Mda too dey form serious and they like to do everything official...after a while they will let you go with a good severance package especially when they need to downsize. The sick fellows are the first to be affected when they want to downsize they ask for everybody's medical records For private firms, it depends on the organisation too. But most will let you go. private people no dey like hear anything money. Except the person is a high ranking official in the company. But if its a bloody officer (lmao) they will let you go. Like I said, it depends on the company. Ive seen a low level staff at company that had a vehicle accident since for more than a year. And they kept him. He comes to office and just chills , once its closing he goes home and he collects his salary. |

dreamxhaser: Normal, this, job security and a few other reasons are why i will choose a government job.
For me it’s about the peace of mind and being comfortable.
But if they want compere money make people no dey go that side Pls I'll like to clarify on something. there's nothing like job security with FG at best you just have a low probability of not losing your job for 35yrs But in that 35yrs alot can happen especially for MDA and parastatals. Things like outright sale, concession agreements and new policies from government can lead to downsizing or total loss of jobs years Back Nitel use to be one of the best place to work, where is it today ? Where are the staff today ? What of ajakouta steel ? Where are the staff today ? NPA use to have 20k plus workers but due to PPP around 2004. downsizing happened, more than 15k lost their jobs. We are going far sef, is it not Cardoso that came and in the name of restructuring people lost thier jobs at CBN. I'm currently scared for the likes of NNPC. If the likes of Atiku & Peter obi comes into power there is a high chance they will sell NNPC off. just like that 6-7k will lose their jobs. Most likely few with connections will be shipped to Nurpc, nmdpra and co If you dey inside government job better be planning your life and pray say nothing go happen during your time. smartkester: where did you see me advice him not to bother about FG work? Do you have problem with understanding?.
What if he gets an offer with a top Multinational, do you want to compare that with an FG work?
All I meant was that he shouldn't limit himself to FG work.
People are earning millions monthly working with private companies, you think if I get juicy offer today from an IOC I won't leave too and go for better offer FG work has a steep curve along the line in your career. The beginning stages mostly no dey make sense. You go suffer for years. But you see later in your career at management level as you dey grow with your mates and set Nothing multinational worker go show you. Have you ever asked yourself why the powerful people in this country still put their children in govt jobs, when they can get them jobs in multinationals or even send them to another country to live ? For example it's far better to be in the management level of any major oil MDAs than to be in IOC Many IOC professionals later in their career hustle for management positions in NNPC ....e get why. At that point you are literally the government's eye. Somebody shout...Powwweerrrrr !! Current board chairman NNPC was VP shell global and MD NLNG Even Current MD NNPC was a shell worker. Somebody Shout....Powerrrrr ! FG no small o Please this is not an attempt to discourage anybody from seeking better opportunities.
