So must I post articles of Nigerians involved in crime as well to butress a point that Nigerians in South Africa are criminals too? That us too we're "victims" of your crimes? Yes?

Let me clarify then cause hate is a very strong word. I strongly believe the Zulu "despised" the intellectual prowess of the Xhosa and i strongly believe that the Zulu's are the most tribalistic South AFricans out there, noting that there are other tribes who also xhibit tribalism against peoples who live in the peripheries of South Africa such as the Venda, the Shangaan and the kwa-ndebeles.

I also believe there is tribalism that plays a good role in South AFrican politics.

I'm glad you specified it was your "belief" because that is very distinct from "facts".

2. The impression of the superior education and intellectual prowess of the Xhosa class in the ANC and overall population is historically noted and a subjection of contention even in present day South Africans, stop lieing. The second article posted denotes this point.



You've used this arguement in the past and are basically playing semantics. The two words can be used interchangeable though they have distinct meanings. Both words are predicated on the intensity of the action, nothing more.



Re-read the sentence again and point specifically to where I allude to Venda people being refered to as Shangaan. I mention them in seperate discriminatory instances.



The above simply bolsters my point that the Xhosa were indeed the intellectual class at the beginnings of the ANC's power. This dwindled after Mbeki was taken out by the populist semi illiterate Zulu- Zuma who was taken out by a Venda and forced a predominately Zulu led party to splinter from the current ANC.

The second article also indicates the there is indeed a power struggle/negotiation by the Xhosa's to re-imerge with the power stuctures.

You also said, the xhosas were an intellectual class, hated for that by the zulus, so how is your point bolstered here? Where. Is the hate from the Zulus stemming from that intellectualism?

I never said Zulu's hate Xhosa's. I said tribalism EXISTS in South Africa. It may not be as pronounced as that of Nigeria which is very understandable as our histories are very different in terms of the amalgamation and number of so called tribes that make up Nigeria vs South Africa but it EXISTS. From the derogatory stance on Venda peoples to the taunting of the Ama-shagaans to the power struggle between Xhosas and Zulu peoples.


Your narrow understanding of these differences and complexities of West African language groups has you comparing a relatively homogenous country which basically consists of Three groups of people Nguni/Sotho/Shona speaking peoples with a country with over 100+ languages.

If going by your argument, the whole world must be tribalistic, then. ..eg the Basques vs Catalans in Spain, the Manchu vs the Han in China, etc... You're simply mistaking being "tribal" with being "tribalistic", the two aren't the same. You are the one with a narrow understanding of the two terms.

Venda people aren't called Shangaan, but Tsonga people are, and they also refer to them;lsevs as such

There's also no power play between Zulu peeople and ama-Xhosa.. The Zulu people are the biggest tribe in SA, population-wise. Yet we had two Xhosa presidents without issues, and the current president is from a small tribal group also without problems. He's also likely to be succeeded by Mashatile, from the Pedi tribe...The same cannot happen in Nigeria
