I never said Zulu's hate Xhosa's. I said tribalism EXISTS in South Africa. It may not be as pronounced as that of Nigeria which is very understandable as our histories are very different in terms of the amalgamation and number of so called tribes that make up Nigeria vs South Africa but it EXISTS. From the derogatory stance on Venda peoples to the taunting of the Ama-shagaans to the power struggle between Xhosas and Zulu peoples.


Your narrow understanding of these differences and complexities of West African language groups has you comparing a relatively homogenous country which basically consists of Three groups of people Nguni/Sotho/Shona speaking peoples with a country with over 100+ languages.

Yet we had two Xhosa presidents without issues, and the current president is from a small tribal group also without problems. He's also likely to be succeeded by Mashatile, from the Pedi tribe...The same cannot happen in Nigeria

Lemme break it down simple for you.. because it's not the earth-shattering conspiracy you think it is.. Under Mbeki's rule, there were growing concerns that Xhosa people were being preferred in key positions of government. So the media coined the term "xhosanostra"... there was no opposition from Zulu people or anything like that..

There's no animosity between the Xhosa and the Zulu people, i don't even recall being there a "Xhosa must go" stance in Zulu-dominated areas, and to even insinuate Zulu people "hate" Xhosa people, because Zulu people view them to be "intellectually superior" than them, it's laughable.. Which opinions of the Zulu people did you sample to come to that conclusion? Do you personally know people of these two tribes to deduce who's "intellectually superior"? You're simply falling into the Nigerian trap of viewing everything through a tribal lens. South Africa is not Nigeria.. where people of the wrong tribe can't even get apartments in the wrong states..

I'm not arguing the horrors that came with the apartheid regime and all that, truly it's a bad thing and I don't dispute that. My point was the fact that they're where they are now in terms of basic amenities and all because those guys were in charge and deemed it fit to provide. You can't compare South Africa's rate of development and amenities like good roads and all to Nigeria.
