Bro, they can be as bitter as they want to be, like the poster above, but the truth is that Tinubu is transforming Nigeria impressively.

Highest performing stock market in the world na beans? Nigerian Central bank winning world best central bank 2026 na joke?

You don't want to know the rate at which smart diasporans are relocating to Nigeria to set up businesses because they recognise the tide is truly changing.

We should all do our best to ensure this man continues in office till 2031..
there is nothing special about this wether Tinubu or not ICT and our population is the reason

if you know of a local government in this our one Nigeria that speaks your language 100% and follows your customary practices but says they have 'nothing' to do with you, won't you find it strange?
That's what's happening here bro, nothing to do with oil or Biafra. I never hear say Enugu man steal Imo state oil. Even Ebonyi that accepts being Igbo said they are not part of Biafra. Ikwere can be Igbo and still refuse to be part of Biafra or share their oil with SE. We have more oil in SE than ALL ikwere local government areas combined, not to even talk about gas.
: for the record ikweres no get oil for river state.
They are parasite in River state, they have the biggest land. Simply put they're what Northern Nigeria is to Southern Nigeria. They contribute nothing to River state just using their numbers to oppress other minorities in the State. And this number is aided because of other Igbos speaking ppl

Nobody's changing your dialects and you should be proud to speak it any where you are with pride. But it doesn't change the fact that Rumu and Umu means the same thing.
However, I was really thinking that you provide evidence where Igbos forcefully coarse you to change your language, or even bear Igbo names.

You wake up old wound whenever you Igbos tell us we changed our community names after the war. Stop it! Your forbears came to Ikwerre land in multitude as slaves and house helps. Providence ceded power to them by reason of their population in eastern Nigeria. Someone who used to be slave to you was made the master overnight by the government. That was how your forebears turned against and started to force their languages and names on us and our communities.
You don't understand Ikwerre language. I was with someone who knows how to speak Igbo the other day but not an Igbo person. He said he understands Igbos when they speak but don't understand Ikwerre despite his mastery of Igbo.
Ikwerre CAN NEVER be Igbo. We call you Isoma. It remains so.
;
Can you with all sincerity provide evidence of how Igbo people force their language on the ikweres back up atleast illustration or examples, if you're genuine let start from there

Your name might be John, are you from the UK?
Abeg make una fine better argument, all these you're speaking English doesn't make you an English man or bearing John doesn't make an English man are stale.
As if you don't know why?
or did Igbo colonize ikweres ? And even If they did just like Britain colonize us. Some us of still retain our indigenous names. Infact most Africans bear the local names with their English names. Ikweres should tell us their indigenous names.
Or it looks like Igbo colonized everything and yet other small tribes across the niger still maintains languages, cultures and names only ikweres. Meetchew

Yemaxollar:
This unions have suddenly turned strike to a yearly routine thing. Everyone is a contributor to the worst state of this nation today.
This lecturers should be considerate. While they were in school in their days. They enjoy the best of the university education here. What is their own contribution to better education in this country today? Every year strike. A course of 4 years taking these children 6 years yet, these children still want to go to school and learn. Why do these lecturers like to complain everytime? They don't want the poor man children to have education again?. I know their own children are taken out of the country to study. Please let the less privilege children have university education. Government cannot solve all the problems. They are long accumulated. Abeg. My opinion. No insult please.
Your opinion is shrouded with stupidity
EducationRe: ASUU to embark On Nationwide Strike, issues 21-day notice to Federal Govt by Kingof2nations(m): 10:05pm On Aug 19, 2024
FreeStuffsNG:
UNILAG must not join the strike unless....

ASUU is no longer the only union for university lecturers and decisions reached on behalf of the university lecturers are not binding on lecturers in private universities and some state universities like LASU, UNIOSUN etc. Those schools don't go on strike yet ASUU claims to be fighting for all the Nigerian lecturers including lecturers of those universities that don't observe the strike but later reap from whatever concession ASUU employers give to ASUU after only schools like UNILAG are shut. That's an unfair and unjust strike! It should be all or none!

Strikes called by ASUU since the advent of private universities and state universities in Nigeria have been discriminatory against only students in some public universities and it's clear that the students are being used as a bargaining chip. That's against the principle of justice.

Each university management and their students should demand for the rights of their students until all the universities close and proceed on strike or no strike. All universities in Nigeria must observe the strike or no strike.

May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
it's even regrettable that last ASUU strike where members suffered and are suffering as they were denied salaries, the 25% salary increament currently enjoyed by most civil servants are ASUU efforts.

PoliticsThe Plight Of Nigeria Academicia Is Pathetic by Kingof2nations(op): 4:46pm On Feb 01, 2024
My two key assignments in Nsukka, Enugu state on Wednesday as significant as they were, got consumed in my chance but emotional encounter with an old friend and University mate now a Professor in the institution.

My mission in Nsukka was for two important events. First, was to visit and assess a dilapidated health center, and second, to campaign for one of the federal legislators, Hon Dennis Agbo, contesting to represent Udenu/Igbo Eze North Federal Constituency in the forthcoming bye-election on Saturday. I believe this legislator is committed to the good of his people. But while in Nsukka, I met one of those brilliant fellows I knew while I was a student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in the 80s.

The fellow graduated with a first class and became a lecturer in the institution. When I later visited the University as the then Governor of Anambra State, he proudly announced to me that he was already a professor and I rejoiced with him.

I met him again in Nsukka on Wednesday, but our exchange of pleasantries resulted in very pathetic tales about his general welfare. I noticed in his look and mien that all his happiness of being a professor had vanished.

He began his story by telling me that he felt like he wasted all his years lecturing. He dragged his pitiful story into his current remuneration as a professor. According to him, his salary as of January 31, 2010, which is 14 years ago remains the same to date, having reached the pinnacle of his career. The only significant difference is that while the money was worth something in 2010, today the same amount is worth nothing.

The Professor recalled how he was able to buy a Toyota Corolla from his savings, something that is not possible again today. I asked for his salary today, he said about N400,000. He broke my heart when he requested that I put in words for him so that Hon Dennis Agbo can appoint him as Special Adviser when he wins.

The reason for the bizarre request that shocked me was that he would earn more and receive more perks as an SA than as a Professor. Touched by this and applying my finance background I decided to do some comparative analysis.

By January 31, 2010, the salary of a Nigerian University Professor was about N400,000. With the then prevalent exchange rate of N150.10 per dollar, the salary amounted to about $2665.

Fourteen years later, on January 31, 2024, the salary of a University Professor remains about N400,000. With the prevailing exchange rate of N1,510 per dollar, the same salary now amounts to about $265.

Today, the same Toyota Corolla costs about N52 million which is more than 10 years of his salary without expenditure, to be able to buy one, after having attained the highest point one can achieve in academia.

Considering the critical role education plays in the development of a nation, and the low human development index, HDI, we are currently at, we require as many hands and a committed workforce as we can get in that sector.

But can we get such, when the earnings of our professors are going backward relatively? Sadly, we are in the same country where the government can use an amount enough to buy 3 Toyota Corollas, to buy personal SUVs for the legislators, whose annual earnings amount to several times that of the university professor and can now afford to pay the professor more than he can earn from lecturing in a premier university in Nigeria.

How does one then remain earnestly committed to contributing to the critical development of the nation?

My campaign, therefore, is to dismantle this criminality and create a functional society where people's talents, efforts and sacrifices will match up with their opportunities in life.

We can reverse this negative trend and build a fairer society. A new and different nation is POssible.

Cheating by lecturers earning multiple salaries from multiple university , earning as visiting lecturer, earn from private schools, earn for supervising Masters Students

Atleast they can stop their useless ASUU strike

Stop fooling yourself
Ignorant is not excuse
No lecturer is receiving multiple salaries, even with IPPIS lecturer still go on visiting and they get paid.
Tell your govt to stop creating new universities rather they should sustain and improve the existing ones.
