It’s no longer news that IPOB has indirectly taken over leadership of the South East region. This is evident in the decree passed on Mondays being a sit at home all over South East. Not forgetting the President’s visit of yesterday to Imo state which had the residents of the region staying indoors as directed by IPOB leadership.

But one would ask,of what effect is the incessant sit at homes on the President of the federation nor to Abuja.

A call from a friend this had his voice in a very sad tone and pessimism. He said there’s currently a silent mass exodus of businesses out of the region. He said the IPOB unknowingly are crippling the economy of the region thinking they are doing BUhari. He lamented how small entrepreneurs, artisans are finding it hard to cope with the incessant and mindless sit at home decrees. He said already criminal activities is on the rise especially in the big towns like Onitsha and other places because pple are becoming hopeless and hungry. He further lamented those cheering the sit at homes are mostly not based in the south East and the smaller percentage are all civil servants.

Businesses are gradually folding up and private institutions are thinking of the way out...banks are thinking hard already on how to shut down activities in the South East if the sit at homes and insecurities in the region persists.

Currently in Anambra reports has it touts activities is on the increase because of hunger. Shoppers and travelers are being illegally taxed for coming and going out of the city. An eyewitness recounted how he was illegally extorted by touts for luggage already in a paid vehicle...one would wonder what gives these touts the effrontery to carry out such heinous activities...the answer lies with the govt of the day. These touts are heavily backed by their govts.

Also currently, petrol pump prices hit 250 a litre in South East and still gearing to hit 300 a litre. Same goes for kerosene which is currently selling for 350 a litre.

In essence, the region is becoming a danger zone leading to a fold In businesses. Majority of igbos if asked about their hope on Biafra...they have nothing too good to say about it because of the nonchalant attitude of Ipob leadership.

Obasanjo only asked the South East Leaders where they wanted the Capital of the New State to be so their Region would also have 6 States

That was how a once in a generation opportunity to get an extra South East State was Squandered

Obasanjo that almost Single handedly installed Yaradua as President was in a Position to give the South East an extra State he only wanted the leaders to agree on where the New State would be and it’s Capital

16 Years latter Ohaneze is still Crying that the South East need an extra State to balance up with the other Regions

traders at the Timber and
Building Materials markets in Orlu,
Imo State, to open for the
day’s business.

Most of the traders in the two
markets had on Monday refused
to open their shops in solidarity
with the leader of the Indigenous
People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu,
who is facing terrorism-related
charges at the Federal High court
in Abuja.

The soldiers, who were manning
a checkpoint close to the two big
markets in Orlu, barred the
traders from opening their shops
for any commercial activity.

Our correspondent was told by
the traders that the soldiers
ordered the gatemen at the
entrances of the two big markets
not to open the gates.

While the military continued with
their stop and search duty in
front of the two markets, traders
who came as early as 7am met
the entrance gates of the two
markets under lock and key.

One of the traders told The
PUNCH that he was unable to
access his shop on Tuesday
when he came for the day’s
engagement.

The trader, who didn’t want his
identity revealed,
said, “Yesterday, almost
everybody didn’t open for
business in solidarity with Nnamdi
Kanu. As we came today, soldiers
prevented us from opening the
two markets. We didn’t even
get into the markets because the
gates to the building materials
and Timber Market were under
lock and key. The soldiers told us
that we won’t be allowed to
open shop till further notice.”

The chairman of markets,
Emmanuel Ibegbulem, who
confirmed the development to our
correspondent in a telephone
conversation, said that he was on
his way to the state ministry of
commerce and industry.

The spokesperson for the 34
Artillery Brigade Command, Obinze
Owerri, Babatude Zubiruo, when
contacted, said that he was not
aware of the development.

There is a rumor flaming around the internet that the IPOB leader is dead. It occurred to me that some people will just sit at the extreme edge of their cubicle and start thinking upside-down. I don't know who initiated the trend anyways but I believe the person must be up to something. And since I came across the news pronouncing IPOB leader dead, all the comments under those posts are worrisome, then I asked myself this question that will heaven fall if Nnamdi Kanu is truly dead?

Truth be told, the present Nigeria government does not send us. If anybody tries any shit, they will use every strategy to bring such individual or group down. Let us not forget why the word GOVERNMENT starts with letter G. Government is just like a small god on earth just like God, Who is Omniscience.

What Nnamdi Kanu and Igboho are fighting for should be initiated by the people we voted to represent us at Abuja. They are the right people to start the struggle from there. But reverse is the case so far Mallam settles them with Dollars they will eventually keep shut.

But at this juncture, I just want to pray that God will protect NK and Igboho so they can be freed.
