As far as awkard moments go, the events of the last eight hours of my life had been quite memorable

I retired to my room to have a nice and thorough shower. I still haven't laid my eyes on my phone and I decided to leave it there until its need arises

Minutes after I've taken my shower, Nike brought two unbreakable dishes of rice and beans, laced with stew, two roasted chicken laps plus a fruit juice to my room

She placed it on the reading table opposite the bed and left immediately without uttering a word

I devoured the rice and beans hastely before topping it up with fruit juice and the chicken laps

Guys, wait does chicken have laps?
If they don't have, what then do you call the space between the Hip and Knee region of a chicken?

Oh! Did I just say hip? Do they have hips? Look, I don't care jare. I sha ate chicken with rice and beans and I enjoyed it. Chikena

Nike came back later with my phone and cloth. She handed it to me mutely with an expressionless face and packed the dishes

She headed for the door but I quickly rose up from the bed and stopped her

"Nike, I want to say a very big than..."

"don't worry Bro D, its nothing" she cuts in outrightly

Maybe she's angry at me. I can't blame her though, no sane human being will be happy with someone that just probably slept with her mum

"Nike just give me a chance to explain...its not what you think, seeing can be...."

"deceiving abi?...." she cuts in abruptly and I was taken aback with her next speech "don't play with my psyche Bro D, and you don't have to lie to me. I literally know more than you think....if I wanted to blow the whistle, I would have done it already, but I don't judge incidents hastily without confirming the truth" she paused, then continued as I continue to stare at her beautiful but presently frown face

"What I did back then was just to protect my sister's emotions. I was afraid she might do something rash if she smelt anything fishy at that moment. Because am sure she will be totally devastated if she saw you hiding in my mum's room" she ended the last words in what seems like a whisper and made to leave

I was really ashamed of myself, I was lost for words as I shifted my gaze to the floor

"we continue this tomorrow...sleep tight". She opened the door and left instantly

I returned to the bed and checked my phone. There was 17 missed calls on it

2 from Jide, 8 from Adedoyin, 4 from Chioma and 3 from an unsaved number

I have offended Chioma alot by avoiding her during the past two weeks. I decided to call her so as to bridge the gap between us.

I dialed Chioma's number, and she picked at the second ring

"Darous, why have you been ignoring my calls? Have I offended you? Is it because I couldn't accomoda...."

"Chy, its not like that...have just been busy...thats all...and you didn't offend me atall" I said placidly to ease her worries

"you mean we are ok?"

"com'on, don't be ridiculous, why wont we be okay?..forget that one jare....how are you?"

"to be candid, am not fine o...I missed you so much... Especially your dck, and handsome face"

"hmmm...you mean you haven't been Oshibanjo(ing) your Nigeria while my Buhari was away?" I said sarcastically

"what?...I don't get you"

"you want to tell me your Boyfriend have not been anointing your ministery in my absence?" I said specifically with a comical tone

"and who told you I have a boyfriend?"

"no one, but I just know that a beautiful girl like you must definitely have a boyfriend"

"well for your info...I don't have because I hate the term Relationship..it makes me wanna puke"

"you can't be serious..."

"trust me...I am..."

"then what do you call whats between us?" I queried

"thats different...what we share is a no-string attached stuff...you fvck me good, I come back for more, you fvck me terrible, then end of discussion"

"hmmm...that sounds good to me?"

"really!...so when do we see" she inquired

"maybe next week..but I'll call you sha..."

'one minute remaining' said the MTN female computerised voice

"you sure? Please don't fvck up o"

"I will rather fvck you than fvck up.....I will call you tomorrow jare..bye bye"

"ok bye handsome...sweetdreams"

"you too". I ended the call

I checked my account balance and it displayed #4.20k

I would have called Jide but I obviously don't have enough airtime or Mb.

I became bored since sleep isn't coming, so I decided to play a game on my phone

I scrolled to the App menu and contemplate on the game I can play

I have, Dream league soccer, Asphalt racing, Mission imposible, Grand Theft Autocity, San andreas, and Temple run.
All the games can only be played with Megabite except the Temple run and Dream league

And since real men don't play temple run, what they do is, go to the nearest Zoo, open a Lion's cage and start running, So I resumed my Dream league game

I was in the last match of the second elite division before I heard a gentle and barely audible knock on my door. It was 2.am

From what have seen in the sitting room so far, i was able to guess the financial status of their parents. They are moderately rich.


I keep on thinking of what will happen if Joke turns out to be an agent of Ugliness, should i pretend as if am ok with her appearance and server all ties with her once i get home? Or should i just play along? Atleast if not for anything, but for her parents status.

After what seems like 20mins, i was starting to get suspicious of everything. Number one, why won't she use her picture as profile picture on Fb instead of wordy pics?
Number two, why can't she receive me at the gate herself?
Number three, whats taking her so long to show up? I was already getting pissed and decided to wait for five more minutes.


"Hi". A very nice voice called me out of my thoughts. I quickly looked towards the direction and what i saw was....really, it really broke my heart into a thousand pieces.

Behold Joke, the lady that have earned the last four weeks of my attention on a Wheelchair. Beauty runs across her round face, her petite body sitting beautifully on the wheelchair, her legs were there,but i don't know why she can't walk. From her belly button region upwards, she is arguably much more beautiful than her sister, but the only thing that could have made her standout proudly among her peers are missing.


"Hi.....there". I replied slowly with a placcid smile, not wanting to show my disapointment.


"am sorry for keeping you waiting. I was having a difficult time trying to get here". Ofcos, you will.. I thought.

"It is alright, i was even begining to think maybe Gawd doesn't want to allow one of his angels to see me, you would have met me on my knees if you didn't show up the time you did.". I watched her blush a bit before i extended my hand for a handshake.

"Nice to meet you Joke".

"same here". She reciprocated the gesture. She wheeled herself to the single sitter sofa opposite me and asked her sister that just brought in two glass cups of fruit juice to help her get on the sofa after she handed me my drinks.

"easy there, pls, can i help?". I inquired.

"nope. You don't have to. I can handle her, just enjoy your drinks". Her sister replied softly.



"You know, you didn't tell me your name".

"Me?" her sister asked, turning around and aiming her index finger at her chest with a questioning look on her face.

"Yes na, or i no fit know your name?".


"ofcos you can, am sorry". She replied


"U just led me here without introducing urself to me,.....".

"don't mind my little sister,". Joke interrupts. "she's just been preoccupied lately". She concluded.

"oh that.. Let me guess.. Arsenal spoilt her ticket.?"


"oh no..(laughing), I don't play bet atall, not after our houseboy ran away after loosing all the money Mummy gave him to enrol himself at a tuition center on...Virtuality..".


"it is Virtual, not virtuality, and i wil also run away, if it were me too".

"ok, but do you also play bet? Or how do you know about it?" Joke queried. Why would she want to know that? Its not as if am going to continue this complicated relationship once am out of here. But i decided to be fair to her so i answered.


"nope, i don't play bet, i also witnessed what it can do to someone, after a certain friend of mine, collected a microfinance loan, and he stupidily took everything to the betting house, he was taking to the mental hospital in ropes two days later".


"oh....thats a very tragic one..". Joke said. Time to stop playing hide and seek. Lets get straight to the point. I thought.

"when will your parents be back?." i directed that to the two of them.


"dad is on a business trip and mum will be back any moment from five". Said the younger sister. I checked the time and it was almost five already. I saw the need to quickly say my goodbyes before their Mum comes back and start asking me relationship questions .

"ok guys.. Its been fun with you and as much as i would have loved to stay and hangout with you till Jesus comes, am sorry i have to go". I stopped to see their reactions, and getting none, i continued." i have a match at 5.30 and its very important i get their on time..."

"Wow..do you play football?".asked the younger sister.

"Hmmmm...yes.. I play football".

"ok. Just be safe. When next are you coming to see me? So that we can discuss fully, you know, we haven't talk about us yet". Joke asked what seems like a dumb question to me. What kind of person does she think i am? Am too young to get tied down to one...sorry to say, disabled beauty.


"i can't tell, but i will get in touch." i gave them both a handshake and made for the door.

"maybe i should come and know your place tomorrow". I instantly turned back to know who just spoke.. Guess who... Joke.

"no.. You don't have to bother yourself". I replied and made for the door.

"what if i come instead? In her stead to your place?".the younger sister inquired. Guess my reply..
