Business / Re: Why Are Nigerian Banks Not Using The Credit Card System Like Other Countries? by KingofHearts(m): 7:25am On Nov 08, 2021
You are thinking the right way!! Consumer loans without proper identification can never work. All the identification documents in Nigeria are all useless documents that can be altered at anytime. That’s why we are a building a global iD that functions across the continent,we can chat!

Until everyone is identified and connected/matched to 50-500 other people….nothing like credit!!

quote author=9japride post=107161490]

It's very unfortunate. I still maintain that the CBN can create a conducive environment to ensure financial institutions have credit facilities. They can start with the Civil service, then move to the private sectors. If our identification system was working properly, it will be very difficult to escape not paying back your loan. In Europe they have your personal security number, so coming back to take another credit from a different organization is not possible. The person information will show as be defaulted on a previous credit taken.
You are 100% right, but we can’t leave it to FG government. In some countries private businesses too create theirs by the side to help fasten businesses and transactions.
Nigerians think they are smart but end up messing everything for a larger number of people especially honest ones!

9japride:
Credit card system is very good and it discourages fraud. But those wicked entities in the corridors of power who love to see people suffer won't allow it to work. They don't want the common man to measure shoulder with them. For example with a credit facility anyone can get latest phone, car etc. In addition, we need to develop our social security number system. But due to mischievous ways of those in power, they won't allow it to work. If done properly the security situation will be reduced more than 50%. Those in power know exactly what they are doing, they all travel out and see how things are done in other countries. To me, its just pure black man wickedness and nonsense attitude. It pains me a lot that with all the wealth in the country, people can't just enjoy it fully but just a few numbers of privilege one's that are enjoying the goodies meant for everyone.

The problem is simple! Someone has your 16digits and the Security code behind your card.

The day will come when the words of some of us that have been shouting that it is insane to have POS terminal in the hands of everybody!never ever seen it in any country before.

POS is for store fronts who can be held accountable if a terminal is hacked (very possible) or is used internally for fraud.

A POS operator was caught weeks ago using customers stored details on bet naija,he credits his account with small money to stake weekly. POS everywhere is wrong and will backfire once the hunger level enters next gear.

Always use virtual cards online and on ATM,it is your duty to protect your money if you work hard for it or if you are interested in spending it yourself.

You can use a 1iD text-to-pay with no bank account too.

Hmmmm!!

It's their true character. Your true character is revealed at what you do when you believe no one is seeing you.
They think the privilege to use aliases as usernames hide them from being directly seen as having a horrible character but its not so. Their online activities and comments can be traced. For some of them ,it has already been traced and used to deny them of something while for some, their bigoted and toxic comments have been archived for use against them when it matters offline and online.
It's the way they are raised too. They grew up seeing adults around them bullying and verbally assaulting one another so they grew into it. Those who change today may still be able to salvage things but for some, it's already too late to save them the consequences of being reckless online. They're already labelled as uncouth , toxic and bigoted individuals.
You just made me miss the days of yore when Nairaland used to have members who give intellectual perspectives to issues of nation building. Now, it's mostly uncouth and intolerant responses.
Only if you know that it doesn't cost you anything to be civil and that it actually builds up your character in life whether offline or online.

Really don’t understand why people insult others on social media!! I have never done it before across all platforms but observe that both young and old enough people do it online,I believe they are like that offline too but May first pretend not to be till the hour cometh …is there a general anger management crisis??
How does one give so much power to others so much that they can control your emotions from miles away, how?

Never help or assist anyone to “Put Assunder” or give up on their journey,it is the devils plans and God despises it greatly.

The effect of that action always come back to people who do it and their generations. When things happen and we ask why it is happening despite how good a person we are or without being able to trace the cause it is often the repercussions of silly decisions we have taken, being involved in but have now forgotten, decision that are not even our business in the first place.

Becareful about issues of marriages! The devil is attacking aggressively everything that God has established,he now uses more of the people we trust than enemies (friends &families) to break homes.

Some help you give up on your journey while some lift you up and help you hop to your destination. If she was your sister like you said it is better you help her hop to the finish line than to help give up on her journey. We are quick to criticize and help to tear apart but never interested to assist till the end! We are all in pains but not all of us will give up,May God strengthen us all.

I feel really sad for the woman, Assuming she was my younger sister that I never have, I will just ask her to leave that marriage because there is nothing to salvage ..I will help her pack her things and ask her to come and leave with me... what an insult to her dignity and sensibility...She made a mistake though by telling the other woman's husband instead of confronting her own husband..

However, If Mrs was not attached to her name, she will not die...If she doesn't wear a ring in the middle of her fingers, she will not die... If she can't have sex, she will not die as a matter of fact, having sex in that relationship might kill her faster...

It indeed feels really great wearing the bigger trouser embarassed...
Good morning fellow nairalanders, I hope your day is going well though mine didn't start so well. I am a nairalander but I have to open this account for this. I have an issue bothering me, I will try to keep my story as brief as possible.

You are already doing fine by trying to calm her down, keep trying to keep her calm as that is the only way she can hear her heart speak and not follow emotions.

My brother, both the “journey” and the “destination” are important but nothing is more important than your “company”,be careful who & what you listen to on this platform.
Marriage is between husband, wife and their creator..any suggestion against the design of the institution is the wisdom of men and not of God.Your in-law has messed up big time but it is between both of them to resolve.

I have learnt that people draw curses to themselves by interfering in matters that is not theirs.we don’t know God’s plan for this family so you can’t but stay pro family while calming her down.

Never make a permanent decision about a temporary situation!

May the God of peace send peace to your family, especially your sis and may your brother-in-law receive clarity and wisdom to help him grow beyond these rubbish!!

Lastly,if you love your sister, continue to calm her down, comfort her, pamper her and afterwards get on your knees for her sake and pray!! The devil is very powerful.

Good evening guys

I've being on Nairaland for over 6years. One thing baffles me; the way people asked for assistance on this forum, mostly financial.

Have you being assisted by stranger from nairaland? please share your story.

I have been assisted by getting the right information here in the past and I have assisted many people I never knew before and some never seen physically till today,Many of them genuinely amazing humans!

The financial help sometimes is not much of a big deal if you consider the amount needed and the fact that this is the poverty capital of the world. The problem is the high number and frequency of need to available helpers and the fact that we as black people don’t like collective prosperity, which is the solution to most of our problems.

I run a collective prosperity group that has and still helping so much people on that platform and thinking of re creating it live on NL but I am afraid!! Anyone what’s to encourage me??
Nairaland / General / Re: Ever Being Assisted By A Stranger From Nairaland? by KingofHearts(m): 9:06am On Aug 05, 2021
There are very good people everywhere and indeed on NL. The problem is the ratio of helpers to help needed, those who have been helped before and are now better off don’t come back to join the army of helpers!

Again, most people who will help are not very frequent here and do not comment every now and then but the truth is that people are reading all the things on this platform either as “guests” or “non-active” members.

The plenty rubbish here also drowns the many requests and help that could have been received here. I only wish members can understand how counter productive the tribal and ethnic war of words, curses and negative attitudes displayed here can be.

Helping people is not an easy task! Sometimes you are scammed ,deceived and even insulted by the one you are trying to help. However, it is a must to help!!

Finally, we can help ourselves more and even on a larger scale on a daily basis if we embrace the concept of “Collective prosperity”.

This is the POVERTY CAPITAL OF THE WORLD and I hope that sinks in well. As far as you live here you have to find a legitimate way to earn.

N120Billion Naira market is too big to leave alone with the Agberos.

There is no point sitting at home for 7 years without a job because you spent most of your time applying for very limited jobs and seeking more knowledge.

This is the time to work 3jobs because we are a poor nation. Agbero during the day+ freelancer during the night + student at weekends…crazy but better than turning your CV into a mirror!!

Find informal ways of earning here or skills that can earn you USD remotely..There are very limited jobs but countless informal opportunities.

I am actually very disappointed with the quality of deliberations on Nairaland!!

Many times I have thought to deactivate my account and just focus on other platforms I belong to but each time I attempt my path just crosses that of an amazing person and I get stuck here for a while longer.

I have gone through every single post on this thread and I am deeply saddened! I was so excited to see this sort of topic at the FP and longing to see how forum members can dissect the information provided and turn it around for good but all I can see here are insults to people’s fathers,tribal/ethnic insults, ICAN vs trade union legality & operations, fake informations on association dues and so on.

The above is why we are where we are as a Nation and why we have the sort of Leaders we have. I strongly believe we deserve them!!!

We ought to be talking really on solutions that can bite gradually into this market(Yes a market it is) there are more informal markets like these across the nations which we must beam touch light on,find a way to solve these bottlenecks gradually and in the long run ensure that there is a clean, clear solution that benefits all along the value chain because this N120+B market does not benefit all as it is.

I know Nairaland is not what it used to be like around 2007, I know many of those guys have since moved on to Twitter and many have become much older now. However, the lack of quality deliberations should not be this glaring and bad.

Lalasticlala is this and that,he is for only snake topic and rubbish …now he has delivered N120+B topic to the table and here we are!!!
Before I forgot, a guy called me from the east yesterday after reading my post and shared an interesting solution solving some transport money collection issue but in the EAST…great thinking and I think we should share more of that here!

Lastly,I will continue to chip in something to keep this tread alive just so that someone might get the inspiration to kick into this and become rich providing solutions.

**NB** if I hear any one on this platform complain of no job again(Women exempted)…if I hear!!!!

Sarcasm or plain serious, what you have done is to ask the most “intelligent question” of all.
How can you become one or more like how can you serve this industry so that you can have a piece of this N120B+ market??

Go there speak with their chairman ,play with all of them, drink with them and gist with them…they will tell you all you need to know.
They are actually fine human beings who just get crazy at times especially if you attempt to block their money or wrestle power with them.Daily money is their main OPIUM it fuels their dreams!!

Had a meeting with some of them this morning, they called me “BABA” “OMO IYA” “GENERAL” “CHAIR”.

They are jovial, prayerful and like life !! Just talk to them and learn their language and you are fine!!
