He said it like he has been in prison in another country and is finally going home to his country. A lot of people who want to lead Nigeria, do not really act like Nigeria is their home. They set up safe homes in other countries and come to Nigeria to hustle. We need political leaders that are true Nigerians.

You do not understand how these things work!! You cannot do half of the things he has done with your family living here! You can’t!!

Do you have any idea what they have done to direct families of those who have been courages enough to express themselves?

Just a small example here: can you remember when Tuface wanted to lead a March of the masses,do you know what happened?

A family is the easiest way to break a man and get him to give up. If you already have a family and you have a course to fight for…keep your family far away!!!!

There even certain governmental security roles you are advised not to have a family.

You will need to read my position over again calmly.
You cannot just encourage everyone to destroy their marriages. Also, only the 2 in a relationship know everything. You can’t trust one side of the story! You need to hear from people who handle these cases and see for yourself.I.e court ,artiste dispute agencies and co.
But if you see me as whatever you think, run with it!!

Kobojunkie:
Dearlove2me, see dem! They will never subject themselves to such a miserable existence but will quickly, even without second thought consider it the best solution for women in marriage. If you look well, some of dem have developed a sick form of admiration for women who sit tight year after year praying and fasting for their dead marriages to rise from the dead. Deep down they know it won't ever happen but they cheer the foolishness on anyways because in their minds that is the lot of a woman in marriage. undecided

They hide the wickedness behind the many mentions of the name of a God whose truth they have little to know real regard for. If you ask them, they won't hesitate to cast God as a liar by claiming He answers all of their prayers when in truth, they can't even tell which direction God breaths. They just can't stand the audacity of you. undecided

We are very very anyhow people truly, if these countries don’t protect themselves even they will be shocked what they will look like in 10years!!

We must find peaceful ways to sort things out and acknowledge that not everyone should be allowed near the marriage institution!!!

quote author=pocohantas post=123336004]Women and men are going through shege in Nigerian marriages, but the difference is, men are brazen about the shege they dish out. Women are hardly ever that brazen because they know the odds are not in their favour. I can't say the same for the sons of Nebuchadnezzar.

When a man sees shege, he is encouraged to get a divorce or side-chick for balance and he would most likely do that. With or without shege.

When a woman sees shege, she is encouraged to wear red pant and pray. This has never been a proven way to let out steam, so they become toxic and depressed with receding hairlines. Waiting for their kids to grow, then they go there to disturb the future daughter inlaw and the son who has failed to ask his mother why she is running from her own husband, would indulge her. Or maybe he knows why she is running. After all he saw it happen.

I am not moved by all the divorce topics in the UK or wherever. The problem is not the UK. The problem is the foundation of Nigerian marriages. We are a dangerous people. Home and abroad we are the same. Any country we enter en masse must start looking for how to close her borders. That is how dangerous we are. But we would hardly ever reflect and change. Instead we blame feminism, blame NATO, blame a Youtuber and blame Tinubu. Very anyhow people...
Gambling is big issue... For a fact that you see yourself winning big and having a breakthrough for once will always make you return to gambling, it is worse when you are not financially strong and you see it as a way out. It will bring you down and all the people around will also go down with you. Only a very few get lucky, most people lose!
May God help all Naija stakers and gamblers.
May God help me too!

It’s is now an epidemic!!! The numbers are crazy!! 2 owners of these site have bought with 3years 2nd division football clubs in Europe (100% ownership). It’s the same too in other African countries!! Gambling is a fun sport for the super rich and done for the fun of it. Gambling is not for breakthrough, the exceptions are not the norms!! The board man always wins!!!

He really does annoying things. How can a grown man gamble away with all he has and return home empty expecting food to eat from his wife and little baby whom he left without anything?
My attitude has nothing to do here. What I tolerant, even you can not withstanding it.

Yesterday was the very first time I really insulted him. It was very annoying but I later regretted it though.

It appears that you don’t want to listen! You may have put efforts and no result yet that is well understood!! You see that divorce you mentioned that’s what is on your mind and the only thing stopping you is that you don’t have enough money to do it yet.

You are letting your emotions get the best of you as well as allowing the devil sit permanently in your home. Within a short time everything beyond your imagination will be destroyed completely.
Everyone on Nairaland will leave you and focus on another matter or their own struggles. This is the exact plan of the devil for you and your child. It’s in your hands whether you want to act the script or not.

Marriage is not beans, those oath you swore has now come before you, now you are tired and want to abandon ship. It can be tiring and draining I know, it can be overwhelming and give that sinking feel. The truth is , our problems in reality are not as big as our mind and brain present it to us…this is what results in hopelessness!!

Your present approach is not working and will end your marriage. Talk calmly and peacefully, take it to God in prayer, find something better to do to give you money and don’t you ever ever give him money(that’s the fuel for the addiction)be there for your child as it’s both your responsibility,he needs you more now than ever to win this battle. There is battle everywhere even in the places you may jump to(May be worse sef)

God Will strengthen and bless you, he will give you the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to win this battle, joy and happiness will return to you again, your husband will come to his senses again and he will even compensate you beyond your imagination. Stay strong and reach out directly for help.

joeargy:

The problem is he is answering that name, we live close to them hence the frequent visits...if u call him Daniel, he will say ehh!!

You all just like making issues of nothing and creating problems! The boy will answer the name on his birth certificate by himself.

I experienced the same! When he gets to school where he will spend most of his days his friends will scream Charles, his books will scream Charles, himself will scream surname first then Charles.

Leave him alone! He even needs those names to play his games in future, like give one girl Charles, give another Daniel while still not technically telling a lie!!

We need you to focus on helping to solve problems like unemployment, general Nigeria problems e.t.c

Don’t mind those telling you he is not your child, they know nothing!! Don’t spend energy policing everyone because of name. A father names his child, you have done that already.Have fun and focus on real problems,Cheers!!

Start from the grassroots and ask yourselves how you have rewarded honesty. People see honest people as a cheap material to exploit and trash.

People who are honest are considered to be ignorant or fools rather.

In Nigeria here, given our current societally values and Economy, its a question of how long will you stand being honest while hunger is ravaging you and your family, while your kids can't attain good schools, or pay for your studies.

People who work with honest employers are honest or at least follow in there foots step.

If you see an honest/innocent man being persecuted would you boldly delve in knowing it would cost you your life?.

If you want to attract honesty, be honest.

Thank you and all who have taken time out to make intelligent contributions to the article.

I understand your points.Sadly, I share your points above. If we are to consider your last statement “If you want to attract honesty, be honest.”

The question then is: Who should be honest first, the leaders or the followers

Even Dangote is not clean.

Politically smuggled funds are embedded in his running capital.

This is part of the causes of underemployment, employee maltreatment, disgraceful salaries, uneven distribution of income and wealth.

Theft is a universal phenomenon, therefore, it is not peculiar to Nigerians alone; your article is bias.

Firstly the article is copied! Secondly,Biased? May be! Maybe it tends towards the followers more than the leaders.I think so!

Should we not have a round table discussions about these:underemployment, employee maltreatment, disgraceful salaries, uneven distribution of income and wealth.

I saw nothing like holding present and previous leaders for failure to industrialize the country. Those leaders prevented everything from working except the telecom sector.

Blaming followers for lack of integrity is still rubbish. Do you know the number of whistle blowers that have been sacked, that are in jail for exposing rot in the system?

No matter how healthy the body is if the head is sick, the whole body is sick, a mad man is a testimony.

India with little crude oil has more than 30 petroleum refineries but Nig with abundant crude oil has no refinery. Do you know the number of jobs created in building a refinery? Imagine if an oil producing state has 5 each? All boils down to government's policy.

Ad it is in petroleum sector, so it is in agriculture, railway, power, etc.

Check my threads for various write ups on issues like this.

Interesting!!! I understand, both leaders and followers are undermining themselves! I will look at those articles and feed you back.

If you are young and interested in governance and would like to join a shadow cabinet mirroring the office or position of interest to scrutinize, advise and participate in the development, growth, progress of that interested area as well as prepare for the office.

The more people interested in governance the better for a Nation and it’s people.

you're right.

While in school, some students don't read and they bribe lecturers to pass them. I have them in my class then. They naturally bribe their way out of school. Sadly, some of these students are presently working in top federal government parastatals. I wonder how they got it. Most of these students are Yahoo guys. While we're busy reading, they parade themselves around the school laughing and making mockery of us.

Some of them had relocated to UK being one of the easiest country to get visa provided one has the fund.

They literally make hardwork somewhat useless seriously. They enjoy cutting corner.

Very sad!! The problem is when people get away with crime they will resort to that method anytime they are confronted with a situation, similar situation or when they run out of patience for solution to a simple problem that requires hard work. They then use same method for their wards because that’s what they know and it has worked before without any consequences!!
