Nigeria @ 61: Primate Ayodele releases prophetic messages about Buhari, security, economy, others

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has released a prophetic message about Nigeria ahead of the country’s 61st independence celebration.

Primate Ayodele said God told him that bandits would kidnap top government functionaries, adding that the North and Abuja have been earmarked for attacks.

The clergyman, in a statement by his Media Aide, Osho Oluwatosin, also warned that the Taliban would reinforce and attack before the end of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Although Primate Ayodele berated the present condition of Nigeria in terms of administration, banditry and economy, he revealed that God is ready to expose corrupt leaders and capture bandits, terrorist group leaders.

“Our 61st independence anniversary has no meaning, there is no development, the government has done well but the poor are not enjoying it. There is too much death, bloodbath, and more is still coming. What the Lord said to me that we should expect in this new independence year is that the level of corruption in this government will be exposed and some bandits leaders, ISIS, ISWAP Leaders will be captured’.

“In this New Year, some governors will regret being governors because of issues they will be facing especially in the north. There will be so many things exposed and several serious accusations.

“Let us also be prayerful, I see bandits kidnapping people in the top hierarchy. There are places they want to attack in the north and Abuja. Let the government pray on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of October to save Nigeria from all unnecessary threats because there is going to be a new terrorist group with sophisticated weapons.

“We have to pray more for our security issues because the Taliban will reinforce in this New Year and there will be a major attack before the end of this government.”

Primate Ayodele also spoke on some likely happenings around security outfits in Nigeria.

“There will be a crisis in customs, some officers will be queried of some illegal operations.

“Let us pray against the death of any commissioner of police.

“Nigeria will still battle with the economy as I see political assassination that will involve a prominent politician.

“EFCC chairman will be incapacitated because of his techniques, he will get a lot of information but they will use him for political reasons so he must be careful,” he said.

Second class traditional rulers from the 14 local government areas of Tiv extraction in Benue State have raised the alarm over alleged plans by Fulani herdsmen to eliminate the Tiv people from both Benue, Nasarawa and Taraba States.

The traditional rulers made the allegations on Tuesday during a courtesy visit on Governor Samuel Ortom at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi, the state capital.

They also called on the Federal Government to immediately take necessary actions to ensure that displaced Tiv people who are currently at different IDP camps in the state, return to their ancestral homes.

Chief Daniel Abomtse, a spokesman for the group, alleged that the Tiv people are constantly being “chased away from their ancestral homes in those states”, stressing that their homes and farmlands are been controlled by “herdsmen of Fulani nationality with the approval of authorities in those states.”

The traditional leaders appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to put in place the necessary measures that would ensure the return of displaced Tiv people and the recovery of their land from invaders.

Governor Ortom while appreciating them for the visit, lamented the incessant killings in Benue by militia herdsmen, stressing that the injustice perpetrated by the “Federal Government to some parts of the country is uncalled for”.

The governor noted that already, the continued stay of over 1.5 million people in IDP camps had led to a food crisis in Benue, pointing out that he has no reason to be quiet as some people expect him to be.

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 57 suspected members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) also known as Shi’ites who stormed the Gwarinpa area of the nation’s capital on Tuesday morning.

DAILY POST had reported that the Shi’ites who staged the Arbaeen trek on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa district of Abuja kept commuters stranded blocking roads and triggering panic and tension in the area.

Armed security men were reported to have also shot sporadically to dispersed the protesters causing residents to scamper for safety.

A statement forwarded to DAILY POST by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adeh Josephine, revealed that the joint security operatives have restored normalcy to the area.

However, contrary to earlier reports, the Police PRO, in a statement, said there was no casualty recorded during the incident, stressing that the security team were able to foil attacks launched on them.

She said items recovered from the suspects include, a vehicle, flags, petrol bombs, weapons, mobile phones, charms and other exhibits.

The statement reads, “The FCT Police Command in a joint intervention with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies have restored normalcy to the Gwarinpa area of the FCT and other parts of the Capital where miscreants identified to be members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) also known as Shiites, caused unnecessary hardship to motorists and other road users as well as individuals going about their businesses.

The miscreants who were found in their numbers were promptly intercepted by the security operatives and dispersed to prevent them from causing further disruption of public order and peace and damage to public and private assets.

“The miscreants attacked the security forces with petrol bombs, weapons including stones but were adequately rounded up by the security teams without any casualty.

“A total of fifty-seven (57) suspects including thirty-nine (39) and eighteen female (18) were arrested and currently being profiled at the State Criminal Investigations Department of the FCT Police Command.

A vehicle, flags, petrol bombs, weapons, mobile phones, charms etc are some of the exhibits recovered from the miscreants.

“The Command, while calling on residents to be calm, warns any individual or group who may want to disrupt the peace being enjoyed in the Capital to desist or be ready to face the consequences of their actions. Residents and commuters are also advised to go about their lawful endeavours without any fear or apprehension”.

Two men who posed as American military officers have been jailed by a Federal High Court in Ilorin over love scam and other internet related fraud offences.

They are Akinrodolu Sunday and George Tobi, who were among 34 suspected internet fraudsters arrested at different locations in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State on March 8, 2021.

They were jailed alongside Oluwajobi Victor on separate charges of fraud brought against them by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

While Akinrodolu and George were posing as American military officers to lure unsuspecting victims into an online relationship, Olujobi was charged for attempt to defraud people seeking accommodation in the US.

They admitted to committing the crimes and pleaded guilty when the charges were read to them.

Among items recovered from them were a Toyota Corolla Sport car, iPhones, iPad, bank draft and incriminating materials printed from their devices.

The items were tendered by Aliyu Adebayo and Rasheedat Alao, who prosecuted the cases for the anti-graft agency and admitted in evidence by the court.


Justice Mohammed Sanni, sentenced Akinrodolu to six months in jail, on counts one and two, with an option of N300,000 fine on each count

He also ordered the forfeiture of his iPhone 7 and Infinix 55 phone, used to perpetrate the crime as well as a Toyota Corolla Sport car acquired with the proceeds of his unlawful activities to the Federal government.

George, in his own case, bagged six months jail term with an option of N300,000, while the iPhone 6s recovered from him at the point of arrest was also forfeited to the Federal government.

Justice Sanni also sentenced Oluwajobi to six months imprisonment with a N300, 000 fine option and forfeiture of his iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2, which he used to commit the crime to the Federal government.

Armed robbers on Tuesday attacked a Commercial bank in Iree, the headquarters of Boripe local government area.

One person was reportedly killed during the attack on Wema Bank.

It was learnt that the robbers arrived at the bank, located beside the palace of Aragbiji of Iragbiji at 3:00pm and operated for about 30 minutes.

An eyewitness, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said one person was killed during the robbery, while an unspecified amount of money was carted away.
According to the witness, the Police station located around the bank was also attacked.

It was also learnt that the robbers shot sporadically into the air and engaged the police in a gun duel before they fled the scene and escaped through Ada Road.

The police spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola confirmed the robbery stating that a tactical team have been deployed to trail the armed robbers.

The bank serves both Ikirun, Iragbiji, Iree, Ada, Okuku and other adjoining towns since a commercial bank in Ikirun was viciously attacked by armed robbers in 2016 and another incident of bank robbery in Iree town some months back.
