Skymoore1004: I legit thought for a second that I mistakenly clicked on Canada Visa Thread lmaoooooo . Almost everyone here will get Uk student visa approval. U.K. has low rejection rate so it will end in praises for all very soon.
Hi, are you saying we shouldn't touch the funds at all?
Skymoore1004: Why would you do that knowing the rules? Well hopefully the money you removed has not reduced the amount required! That’s the main thing.
Was it an in person interview ? Or how was it conducted
Akchi32: I finally did my visa interview today. I'm happy it went well.
These are the questions i was asked:
What's your name and date of birth? Why have you decided to study my course? Did you considered other schools before applying to University of Strathclyde? Why did i choose University of Strathclyde? Have i been to the UK before? What's my future career plans? Where will i be staying and the kind of apartment I'll be renting? Why did i choose to study in Scotland? What have i been doing after my undergraduate? How much am i earning currently? Who will be paying for your studies? Do I've a dependent? Will they be traveling with me? Do i have family and/or friends leaving in the UK? How much am I looking at earning after my studies? The name of my undergraduate institution? My undergraduate qualification (BA or Bsc)? Why did i choose to go for my studies now? If i understood all the questions asked?
The interviewer was really nice and friendly. I'll advise those preparing for interview to be calm and truthful. It's just you having a conversation with another person.
mimilyrics: Getting NI number takes months sometimes. Appointment dates are usually quickly booked up in the first few days/weeks of resumption but one can start some jobs before getting the NI number.
I think what @mimilyrics is saying is that your answers to Pre CAS interview (for those in that stage) or the main interview (Visa stage) should be very specific and detailed. For example if you are asked ' Why did you choose this school or course for you masters degree', a generic answer will be defining what education or postgrad education or masters degree is. That shows the person either isn't prepared or not a genuine student.
Be straight forward and give detailed evidence ' so a better answer will be for e.g i chose the school because of the track record in being top?? Uni or my course is affiliated with XYZ organisation' or the school has a strong research culture ' etc
There are links on preparing for interviews on youtube, have a look, prepare and be confident.
Please can you be more specific on what you mean by generic answers. Please no vex if my question is stupid just want to know and not make a mistake. Thank you very much [author=mimilyrics post=92321008]You can get a T4 visa despite your US refusals; just ensure you state them + the reasons (if any) in your application, ensure that all your documents meet UKVI requirements and prepare for your credibility interview (knowledge about your accomodation & transport options, course & school in addition to not giving generic answers during your interview and confidence during your interview are important).
Read the links below for more info and if you have questions, post them here and anyone who's available will answer them: Nottingham has explained the Tier 4 Visa process in this link and there's a link to the T4 official guidance in the explanation (take note that the maintenance quoted is for outside London): https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/studywithus/international-applicants/visa-help/10-steps.aspx
Required documents / information for your application: 1. Your CAS information from your school; this information will be filled in your visa application form. Your CAS will also show all the documents that you need to submit with your application. 2. TB test certificate. 3. Documents listed in your CAS. 4. Finance: your tuition fee/balance + maintenance )£1015 monthly *9 for outside London and £1,265*9 monthly for London). If your course is for more than one year, you only need to show your course fees for 1 year and maintenance for 9 months. You'll pay IHS for ¹/² year though since you'll be granted 4-6 extra months after your course end date.
How to show tuition balance and/or maintenance: A. Your bank statement: This money must be in your account or your parents' for at least 28 days before the day you submit your application online. You will upload your statement to show this. B. Official financial sponsorship letter from an international company/organisation, the Nigerian govt, the British govt or your T4 sponsor (school). A sponsorship letter will be required except in the case of a scholarship fro. your school; scholarship from your school will be detailed in your CAS. C. Loan: must be from a bank regulated by the financial regulators in the country in which the money is held. A loan later within the 6 months before the date you submit your online application will be required.
Document submission: After you submit your online application, you will need to pay your IHS, then visa fee before you can select an appointment. Once you select an appointment, you can select self-upload which is free or assisted upload which costs N11,700. If you select self-upload, you must upload clear and legible scans of all your documents (preferably in colour since this will closely look like the original). You can upload documents up till the day of your biometrics appointment. You can scan and save your documents in pdf format using the TinyScanner App If you select the assisted upload, the VAC staff will take care of the scans + uploads for you. If I missed out anything in the list above, I'll update as soon as I remember. You can watch the video by TLS in the link below for a step-by-step explanation on the visa application process:
My condition was showing my originalwaec result which i did then an offer letter was sent which said paying the deposit of 4k and showing my bank statement. Nothing about personal statement.
Coventry doesn't require a personal statement best of my knowledge, all they require is your result.
mentored: Your personal statement at the point of application covers why you want to study the course, YOUR STUDY GAP, why you chose the University, why you chose the UK and your future plan.
Universities admission team usually look at these to make an offer.
These are same questions you are going to face at the interview level.
Someone corrected my comment earlier, so I am going to add this - my personal opinion please!!!
Already got an admission with Coventry thanks for your advice tho. Also the latter part of your message when you are talking about personal state does that have to do with school applications or visa process because i asked about old waec result in relation to visa process
mentored: To be honest I don’t really know other schools who accept Nigerian O level results directly to year one apart from Coventry.
You can always send them (Other schools)an email to inquire though.
For old waec, if you are above 25yrs, I won’t advise you to apply for an undergraduate course. But if you are 25 and below, you can scale through with sound personal statement and proper guidance
Thanks alot i already have an admission with Coventry i just wanted to enquire maybe i could get elsewhere and also get a lil assurance on the visa process. My money isn't an issue and so is my intention to study. Been following this thread for a while even before i joined. Thanks so much for your input
Skymoore1004: To be honest, you’re more likely to be offered a foundation entry than direct year one entry. Most unis accept about 5 years old at least. Yours being 8 years could illustrate that you’ve been out of college for a while & you need to start from the basics.
Anyway like @hosey said, you should apply and see where it goes. Usually if the university accepts your credentials, then you’re good to go proceed for visa. You should enquire directly with the universities and be sure. All the best
Mindlog: See as you calculate your meal times put inside the 60 hours!
Putting such hours in a care setting is not easy, I must confess. I presently work in a psychiatric hospital, I only do 40hrs weekly and can't go beyond that to avoid burnout.
Sigh Coventry haven'tput anything on their site..so even if i am deferring from this year i will still pay the new rate?
Aprokodaughter: Most UK schools have like 2 to 3 years plans already. Some schools have 2021/2022 session on their websites and schools fees approved. So if you go to their websites and check for next year session. You will notice that the school fees is higher than this year.
And me I don't want any surprise especially schools that have not posted their next year school fees on their website.I would rather go in September.
Definitely some schools will increase their fees, some will increase it slightly while some will leave it. It depends on their school policy.
Will they still increase school fees even during this economic hardship and also is it something they do every year?
Aprokodaughter: Ah thats good, congratulations. I have accepted SHU September intake, don't want to go in January because of the crowd and some schools might increase school fees.
