Whats the quickest solution?
Aphrodite007:
Yes I’m used to bank processes and I know why they flagged it. But this is so like Barclays, they have done this to friends before.

Normally UK unis let you pay a certain percentage to get the CAS but you will be asked to pay the remaining 3k at a certain time (before uni starts). So it seems the lady must have sent the 3k and Barclays flagged it and stalled the transfer. Now rather than call to confirm, they just assumed it was fraudulent or scam.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Kingp91: 6:46pm On Oct 30, 2020
What i know is that the sis made the transfer and the account was blocked afterwards but i think the money was never processedto the schools account but she has receipts and stuff like that. I genuinely have said all i have been told so if somethingis being kept from me i don't know but immediately she told me about this i told her to tell her sis to go to the bank and get it solved just carry all the necessary documents. She initially said her sis said it will take time blah blah but i insisted she calls her back and push her to go that no be naija be that place. Her sis has agreed to go to the bank or put a call through. I hope shii gets sorted out soon. I am grateful for all your contributions!
LagosismyHome:
A bit odd.... didnt the school confirm that the money has hit their account before issuing CAS. Also once its hit the school account how can the bank block it. They usually block it before leaving the acc and not after ...

I think they are not telling you the whole story but hopefully it gets sorted soon.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Kingp91: 6:39pm On Oct 30, 2020
Honestly i have no clue just found out her sis is a citizen and is married to a white guy over there so i honestlyfeel like the bank ish shouldn't be an issue but the lady is heart broken thats why i came to see if i could get any unfo here as what to do regarding the bank situation
inphoenix:
That's a new one and rather harsh. There might be more to the issue than your friend is telling you.
Sorry no idea of how to unblock an account, but I'm aware a CAS once used becomes invalid for reuse, so if it is withdrawn, so might the visa. I just wonder how this was allowed to happen?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Kingp91: 5:18pm On Oct 30, 2020
Yea but the cas was withdrawn
inphoenix:
"she was to leave" meaning she already has a visa?

Thanks so much
LagosismyHome:
Isnt this a question for Barclays bank ....once she can prove source of influx of money then it shouldnt take days to unblock

Alternatively use another account to pay the 3k
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Kingp91: 4:51pm On Oct 30, 2020
No other money o but i also said the same thing that she should go to Barclaysthat it won't be such an issue

Please someone should say something on this
Kingp91:
Hi, please i am asking for a friend its very urgent. She has 2 siblings an elder sister who is currently in the uk and her brother who applied with her to solent university in the uk. The brother left for the uk 2 days ago as he was granted visa. She was to leave for the uk until her school emailed her and withdrew her cas because the other part of the balance 3000 pounds hasn't still reflected and this money was paid from her sisters account who is in the uk and she uses Barclays. Apparently her account was blocked when she made the 3k payment reason being that there has been a high influx of money into and out of the account due to the fact that she also paid her brother's fees. Please people with experience whats the work around her getting her account unblocked and is there a fast way to do this ?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Kingp91: 4:12pm On Oct 30, 2020
What are the jobs you are talking about that come with training/method to getting them
inphoenix:
By graduate jobs, I mean jobs offered specifically by organizations (most of them Tier 4 sponsors) to UK university graduates. These companies recruit students specifically to work after graduation and the qualifications are usually not industry or degree specific because the training is actually part of the job. It is usually very competitive though but there's a method to it.

People recommend social work because it's relatively easy to get jobs in, same as nursing and health related fields, but there are a lot of jobs that are not industry specific, again, there's a method to it. You just need to keep an open mind and willingness to work in any field.

You can try LLM Corporate Governance gradCG, It is accredited by the Chartered Governance Institute for company secretaries and offered at Portsmouth, Lincoln, Ulster and Ulaw (with caution) With that you have your Masters in law and corporate governance, and a company secretary qualification all in one. You can work in compliance or governance which are also good careers that are not degree specific.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Of course. They will hire you if you’re here. Get the necessary certification(s), learn the BA basics, equip yourself with IT/Software knowledge (to make you stand apart from others).

My question isn't based on being outside the country though. Asking in terms of someone who has come in as a student
tennyalad:
I'm tempted to say it's impossible to get sponsorship as a Business Analyst but then again I used to work with a QA that was sponsored straight from India so you don't want to underestimate the power of luck.

Generally, sponsorship is geared towards experienced developers/engineers that knows their stuff.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Kingp91: 4:13pm On Oct 13, 2020
I would also like to know if the person comes in as a student his/her chances of securing a job based on the i.t sector
RalphJean:
Is there a company that would employ a Business Analyst from Abroad and issue a CoS?

@ Aphrodite
This is your territory.
Kindly help. I am interested in this answer too.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Kingp91: 12:45pm On Oct 13, 2020
What is your take on a business analyst role in the i.t section.

Ps its under the shortage list
Aphrodite007:
File for PR as in Permanent Residency? I’m this UK abi is there another UK? grin

Even us that have British spouse and children don’t have permanent residency, doctors that have been working here for 4 years don’t have permanent residency, na student grin

SAP is a software that he can learn. He doesn’t need a degree in it. No need to do a degree in project management (which is even phasing out due to agile practice), supply chain is great but a professional course in it can suffice no need to do a degree in it. Data can’t fail anyone but this person has to know sql, Python and R; they can’t just expect to get a degree in DA and get a Data job.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Kingp91: 12:40pm On Oct 13, 2020
Does this apply to business analyst in the I.t sector? Or just developers
tennyalad:
There are two main universities in Oxfordshire, if he's going to the ivy league one, he's will be in a position to choose any jobs he basically wants to do.

Depending on the dev language he's proficient in, he would probably make the same money he already makes in Nigeria here working part time during study and he's almost guaranteed to get a job post study that would probably lead to sponsorship.

I work in the industry and know how easy it is to extend an offer and hope the person starts before getting a better offer elsewhere.

What was her interview like? What documents did she submit to do the bachelors if you have an idea that would be helpfu. Ps: i am only referring to the visa stage
Mindlog:
I know someone whose WAEC is 1995, though in 2017 she went back to do another bachelors degree and finished in April this year and left for Leeds last week for her Masters.

Hi not the answer you are looking for want to ask if this is an undergraduate degree and which if this isn't too personal for you to answer
Qlock:
Hi guys, I need an insightful opinion here please.

I'm in the midst of paying for my Tier4 visa (for four years). The IHS checker specifies £1350 and was hoping to pay with my UK pounds account. On the payment page however it is valued in USD (1850), which is like £100 in excess based on the conversion rate on every channel I have looked at. Is this normal from your experience (based on some ridiculous rate)? Or is there some charges I'm not aware of?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Kingp91: 3:03pm On Sep 14, 2020
Does this affect the visa ?
LagosismyHome:
Yes and No....it depends on the school. A friend applied to Bedfordshire and they said no, something about 8 years gap maximum ... however this friend applied to 5 other schools and no gap or issues with that was mentioned

So if you apply and a school says no, no wahala there are many other schools.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by Kingp91: 1:31pm On Sep 14, 2020
Did you submit any kinda of document to this effect?
naledis:
No.

I graduated 12 years ago and could explain what I’ve been doing ever since (I was asked this during my pre-CAS interview). Study gap should not be a hindrance so long as you’ve not been idle/redundant.

All you need to do is to have a good explanation in the event that you’re asked either by the university or during the credibility interview

All the information you dropped is for the admission process right ? And not the visa process or did she also submit this during her visa application
ZabethMay:
If this is your first BSc, then you don’t need a transcript. She also submitted reference letters from her place of work and her previous uni. And a personal statement. The documents depend on the school you’re applying to. I’m certain they’d let you know the documents required for the course you’re applying to.

Oh thanks for your response i already have an admission just trying to get set for the interview and know what kinda documents might help my application for a visa as i said i am using an old waec result and i am also not a kid.

But after much contemplations as regards to finance, she wants to go for MSc instead. Now she already has her visa, what do you advise please? Her school tuition is refundable too. Would she be able to reapply for an MSc course starting in January?
