hayor2014: i remarked with IDP and my writing was increased to 7 from 6.5 I'm not disputing that with you, can you believe that all throughout my search, on Nairaland and outside this forum, you are the only survivor that got an upgrade with MOD-IDP in writing. From my research, out of 20 people I read about their remark in writing, no one except you got an increment. Therefore, it means something is definitely wrong with MOD. Anyway, I have fired them a mail and even escalated their dubious act. I hope we get justice someday. |

ysteph: LOL....with the recent trend, whether you rewrite IELTS exam or remark your result, all na gamble. To gamble 75k or 46k which is better? Like I said, I need the email address of IDP Australia, all this rubbish about EOR not getting to British Council/IDP most stop by fire by force. In the EOR form-7 it is clearly stated that a senior IELTS official will review the script and award mark, that is why British Council EOR is remarked and most often than not there is visible changes and upgrade. However, MOD is suppose to forward their candidates EOR to British Council or IDP in Middle East (which I believe is their reporting center), could it be that these Arabs are conniving with MOD to fleece student NGN 46k? luffyhaki: I think you should go with BC cos remark (writing) with IDP is a risky burger and they can like to give most people 6.5 I'm scared, I'm contemplating seeking a remark with MOD/IDP for my writing which is 6.5. L-8 R-8 W-6.5 S-7.5 Anyone here in this forum that has gotten favorable upgrade with MOD writing score? If it is true that MOD don't forward their EOR to the British Council/IDP headoffice as contained in their EOR form... Na me go spoil their market.... I will post it glaring to the whole world to see the kind of fraud they are committingCc: Newmum0615, ysteph , dotcman ( Someone should give me IDP Australia email address.). |

DrinkLimca: That was why i said people that think children are burden are not responsible..
by the way no child is a burden..
If you can't take care of a child, give him or her up to families that wants a child..
saying the kid is a burden is not right,, that statement is very wrong.. Dude you're are misconstruing the definition of that burden in the contest of the writer's view. A burden in this case means a heavy task ( describe a problem or a responsibility as a burden, you mean that it causes someone a lot of difficulties, worry, or hard-work. - Collins dictionary) the OP is saying the actual truth even if it may sound unpleasant to some people.. When an offspring is sick or admitted, parents are not settled in their thought, they can go extra miles to stop existing project to attend to their children's need |

Kontagious: Deebay never said that. S/he only mentioned CIC says financial institution, implying mortgage bank is also a financial institution that the statement can be used. If pension account (which isn't a bank) can be used, then a mortgage bank should suffice. ohhh okay, thank you kontagious for the clarification. |

boldinc Yes you can... KINGTELLER: Please, I want to inquire if it is tenable to use statement of account from a mortgage bank as POF or must it be from commercial banks? Thank you boldinc, someone (Deebay) quoted below that it is not a financial institution according to CIC, have you witness anyone who has successfully used mortgage bank statement of account as POF? Deebay: CIC says financial institutions |

Algbenguze: Pls check @Canadianfly's post on Listening techniques for multiple choice questions. I actually tested them in my practice and it worked 100%. It's simply this: Don't bother checking the options during the recording. The answers in the options are always paraphrased and so won't jump out at u while listening and searching for answers simultaneously. Before u finish processing the answers and decoding the paraphrases, you'll be behind the recording. Rather, read only the questions, ignoring the options, and jot (very quickly) what the conversation says. During the break to check ur answers or at the 10mins after the recording, go back and compare ur jottings with the paraphrased options given. You'll see the answers staring you in the face without the distraction of the recording. You'll need to practice this a number of times to master it but trust me, IT WORKS. I don't know how this method works for you, I have tried it over and over again, I couldn't cope with writing what the speakers were saying and as well listen, as I miss-out the key points in the process of jotting down their words. The best practise that worked for me was read the question carefully and then listen to the reason given, then scan through the answers to see what option matches (either in exact words or paraphrase). |

gorgebaby: Thanks. In all honesty, I only prepared for the listening section the two times I wrote the test. I used ieltsonlinedotcom (I don't want to be censored) majorly. My weakness in the first listening test was the map/diagram, which I then faced squarely whilst preparing for the second test, but thankfully I didn't encounter.
Tips? Practice and more practice. You can only recognize your weak points when you practise and hopefully by the time you are writing the actual test, you would have mastered them.
I wish you all the best! How did you cope with the advance listening test, for ieltsonlinedotcom? I keep "junking (fail)" the fill in the gap summary test, and this is causing me fear right now. Another challenge I have is the pluralization of words, sometimes I miss-out the "s" due to the foreign ascent of the speaker, and this causes the computer to mark it wrong for me. Is it likely someone will be marked wrong if he seldomly omits the "s" or can't someone be pardon for omission of "s" for singular verbs? |
