A. Abiola was VP under Shonekan in the Interim Government whilst Abacha was head of defence or something along those lines
B. Tinubu was an Abiola protege.

Why would tinubu not got to his boss who took a VP position after June 12 annulment, and instead go to Abacha to ask for post of commissioner.

Also note, Tinubu was arrested for treason by the Abacha government in June 94. Which was the same month Abiola was arrested by Abacha.
