"But yet you just decided to help me"using "but" with"yet" is wrong it's either you use but or yet.e.g you don't know me but you just decided to help me? Or you don't know me yet,you decided to help me?.........and I think yet is the most appropriate word to use .
I get your hang. Would avoid such mistakes... Don't forget to vote me for best new comer by clicking here o https://www.nairaland.com/1804027/free-n5000-writer-here-every/42#29685014.

Episode 22.

We gisted for quite some time before she excused her self, saying she needed to rush home before her dad became worried at her absence from the house since she didn't tell him where she was going before she left.

'Please don't go now, just stay a bit please' I begged.

She rubbed my chest again, ' I would have loved to but I have to get going now, besides I know the kind of Dad I have, if he finds out am presently with you here, you would be dead by morning' She said while we both laughed.

'Is he that bad?' I sarcastically asked.

She drew closer to my ear and whispered. 'He is a retired General in the army, no one jokes with his daughter' We had a good laugh at this but I knew she just told me in a subtle way that she was a no nonsense girl, a daughter of a retired General? Fear catch me small.

I didn't want her to leave but I guess I had no choice. I enjoyed her company every bit and we flowed well just as if we had known each other for a long time now. I couldn't just take my eyes of her radiant ebony skin with those white dazzling 32's which whenever she smiled, I felt butterflies in my tummy.

Her beautiful face lightened up every dark spot in my heart. I have never felt this way for any girl in my life.

She was different from all other girls I know, something I couldn't lay my hands on but I just knew she was special. She stood up to take her leave while I managed to sit upright on the edge of the bed, she glanced one more time at me and turned but I couldn't contain the passion building inside me ever since the first time I opened my eyes and saw her.

I drew her back gently by her arms and as she turned, I planted a kiss on her lips. I didn't know what entered me but I just felt like as if the world and life instantly became sweet, I started seeing rainbows and a beautiful creature come out of it with a bow and an arrow as he shot what seemed to be like a Love-badge arrow.

She didn't resist my kiss but I saw she felt kinda shy as she withdrew her lips instantly.

Without another word, she picked up her bag and hurriedly left the ward.

I just lay on the bed and all that crossed my mind was her and nothing but her.

The doctor came in minutes after she left and announced that if I wanted to go home, I was free to do so because I only had minor bruises, and that's how I was discharged.

I had already walked past the hospital gate to the express road in order to board a cab to take me home when reality dawned on me.

Damn!, I forgot to ask the beautiful damsel for her number. Shit! I didn't even know her name!. I had f'up big time.

I felt like crying but I manned up, how could I have lost such an opportunity to collect her contacts.

Something was really wrong with me.

I shrugged that thought off, stopped a cab and home I went.

Sorry dear, but I don't think thats what the category 'Best new comer' Means.

I created my NL acct since two years but I only started writing a few months back here on NL, so you can rephrase the 'Best new comer award' To 'Best upcoming writer' award.

Episode 21.

She continued feeding me amidst laughter and gisting. She was really a jovial and easy going person. I enjoyed her company that I wished it would last forever.

She then informed me about everything that had happened, about the mob almost lynching me together with the thief but a group of good samaritans came to my rescue, insisting that I wasn't among the robbery attack and that the description of the thief's partner didn't match with me so I was Freed.

She also said that I was already knocked out and laid lifeless on the floor before the revelation was made, thankfully I wasn't killed but no one thought it fair enough to at least give me a helping hand or rush me to the hospital, that she alone brought me to the hospital all by herself.

I looked at her with amusement, she didn't even know me, yet went through all that just to help me.

'Don't tell me you wanted to act like the good samaritan in the bible?' I asked. 'I don't even you, but yet you just decided to help me just like that?' I questioned.

She laughed. 'I know you but I don't think you know me'.

I looked at her, puzzled. 'You know me? How? Where?'.

She giggled again. 'I see you as a very kind hearted person who would go any length to help or please others even at your own displeasure'.

This girl was speaking in parables o. I sat upright on the bed with confusion written all over my face.

'I still don't get you, how do you know me, have we met before please?' I asked.

'Its a shame I didn't get the chance to thank you for your small deed towards me and my dad' She said again.

Now I was completely lost! I looked straight in her eyes anxiously waiting for her to continue.

She smiled and continued as she understood me. 'You remember weeks back when you and your friends help give a push to a Man's car?' She asked, looking at my face in expectance of a nod which she got and so she continued.

'Well that's my father, he was supposed to thank you guys but I guess he was running late for an appointment, since then, I have been looking for you to at least say thanks' She said.

I was stunned, who could think that our little help to her father even if he didn't give us any reward that moment could come back in a hundred fold, I thank my stars for helping them out.

'But dear, how did you know we helped your dad, am pretty sure you weren't there then?' I asked.

'Ofcourse I was there, I was inside the car but I guess you didn't see me because of the tinted glasses in the hummer that's why I said, I know you but I don't think you know me' She replied.

Choi! Life is good o! That small help to her father was what helped me out today, I promise to continue helping people o.

She brought her hand and began rubbing my chest. ' So here I am now, this is my way for saying thank you, I have paid all the hospital bills and also arranged for your food and drugs till you get better.... Bla bla blaa'

I wasn't even listening to all her long talk, her hand on my chest was just taking me to and fro from earth to Jupiter.

Choi!, continue rubbing my chest baby!!

I am here bro,....think I might partly agree with fatal on the first correction,if you check the meaning of 'stroke',you will find the word 'caress' in its definition but since you said you used it as a form of combined-adjective just to give your readers some more words to chew/read as a graphical illustration,I might have to accept that as your diction(choice of word) but in an english exam,I would put a question mark in front and tell you it is tautology. wink

On the case of 'Nylon' or 'bag',I wouldn't say Nylon is a form of naija's english cause it wasn't defined by Akpos but the bag might sound more pleasing to the ears than the nylon, nylon's definition isn't defined as something that is a bag, only nigerians see nylon as a bag but 'Nylon' is probably the most useful synthetic product. It's a plastic that can be molded into everyday products or drawn into fibers for making fabrics—and its launch in the late 1930s truly changed the world. Don't believe me? Let me explain. You can pretty much live your entire life with nylon by your side. You can snooze away on brushed nylon sheets until your alarm clock (powered by nylon gears) wakes you up. Hop across the nylon rug or carpet to your kitchen, maybe eat your breakfast from a nylon bowl, before cleaning your teeth with a nylon toothbrush. Hold a nylon umbrella over your head to keep out the rain when you set out for work or school or, if the sun's shining and you're heading to the beach, wear your quick-drying nylon swimming shorts instead. Feeling adventurous? You could try jumping from an airplane and have a nylon parachute bring you safely to the ground! Those are just a few of the things that nylon does for us every single day...........so you can see nylon isn't a bag except you add some suffix/es to it like,'nylon-bag','nylon-umbrella',nylon-dress' or 'nylon-parachute'.

Shoyemiayodeji gave a nice one of the use of 'polythene-bag',or you could say 'nylon-bag' but to be more formal,'bag' would be enough!.

She continued 'stroking' and 'carresing' my

According to the passage, u meant the same thing by saying 'stroking and caressing, meanwhile, the words both have the same meaning, it shud be: She continued carresing my
head.
Sorry bro, but personally I dont see any flaw in using the two words together, you can say they are combined adjectives which I added in order to give a more graphic detail to my esteemed readers.

Fatalveli:
Revealing a white 'Mr Biggs' 'takeaway bag'.

I'd rather u say takeaway nylon
Hmmn, I'll advice you consult your urban dictionary... Using the word 'Nylon' could be accustomed as thinking via the 'Naija mentality'

Episode 20.

She continued stroking and carresing my head for some time then she gently lifted my head from her laps and placed it on the bed. She stood up from the bed and reached for the cupboard besides me, revealing a white 'Mr Biggs' takeaway bag.

She poured out the contents gently on the floor, it consisted of a takeaway dish, two big cups of Icecream and finally two bottled soft drinks. I just sat on the bed totally speechless, what could have warranted such treatment from such a beautiful damsel? I asked myself. I just couldn't take my eyes off her, she was the real definition of an African beauty.

She brought my head again and placed it on her laps, opened the takeaway dish and scooped a handful to feed me. I didn't know what to think so I resisted, she brought the spoon closer to my mouth again intending to feed me but I resisted again.

'Please you need to eat up, its for your health' She pleaded.

'I don't even know you and I don't think I deserve such treatments from you' I spoke out rather inappreciative, even when I knew I was supposed to be thanking her for her kind gesture.

'You don't need to know me to appreciate me, well that's by the way, you need to eat up and rest' She said with a smile on her face. I wanted to say something again when she brought her finger to my lips urging me to keep mute.

I was weak and couldn't continue arguing with her so I gave up. She began feeding me like a baby while many thoughts crossed my mind.

What if she was an undercover agent sent to monitor me? What if she was poisoning me? What if she was a ritualist? Infact who was she?

I mustered courage. I wanted to speak up and ask her certain questions so as to clarify things but as I raised my head up and looked into that ever beautiful and smiling face of hers, all strength left me and flew out through the window.

She brought the spoon into my mouth again and fed me for the umpteenth time, Sincerely, I was mesmerized by her beauty and her smile was just, O.M.G.

I fell in Love instantly.

Episode 19.

The mob didn't even give me a chance to protest when they pounced on me, giving me the beating of my life. I began to fear for my life when I started hearing,

'Emeka rush go filling station buy ten litres of petrol' A man ordered his son while another man instructed his own son.

'Abdullahi, rush go that mechanic workshop carry all the tyre wey you see there.' The second man sent his son.

'O lord, please you know am innocent, I promise not to slap any body again in my life, please I don't want to die' I cried within me.

Things had deteriorated when I saw Emeka and Abdullahi coming hand in hand with the petrol and tyres. So this was how I was going to die?. I could hear the thief laughing mockingly at me. My rage doubled immediately, I didn't mind the beating we were both receiving as I pounced on him mercilessly beating him squarely. We were both receiving our share of beating from the mob, but He was also receiving my own share. Even though I wouldn't be able to retrieve my phone from him, at least I would be compensated by the kind of beating I dealt him.

Kpowai! I felt the painful thud of a wooden plank hit my head and my head went blank.

I woke up in an hospital ward with plasters and bandages all over my body, I was yet to remember what brought me here when two beautiful ladies walked into the ward. The older lady wasn't that beautiful though I later found out that she was the doctor attending to me, while the latter was a damsel to behold. She was a black beauty with a long flowing weavon fixed to her head. Her facial beauty was indescribable, it seemed God himself moulded her to his own perfection. Choi! This girl was beautiful! She was tall with average sized trafficators and an awesomely big 'behind'. She had a coke figure with excellent body shape and all I could murmur was 'Wow!'.

'Doctor Hope! He's awake' The beautiful damsel said as she rushed towards me, sitting down and the bed and taking my head unto her laps. Choi! I felt like I was in paradise. All pains vanished as I reminisced in her laps.

The older doctor came towards where the damsel sat and began a checkup on me, checking the pulse on my wrist and opening my eyes as if she was looking for something, but all those didn't matter to me.

'Doctor please is he going to be okay?' The damsel asked again, this time caressing the hairs on my head. Choi, I was in heaven, and no thief could steal my enjoyment.

I didn't know what warranted such treatment from this unknown girl and I didn't want to know.

'He suffered a whole lot of injuries and bruises from the mob's close lynching but he is going to be just fine' Doctor Hope said, wrote some things on her notepad and left the ward.

I was now alone with this unknown girl and to say my heart began beating faster than normal would be an understatement. Liver cut me.

How would I begin a conversation with this gorgeous mermaid who was still busy caressing my hairs.

Only time would tell.

Episode 18.

Theo was not himself after the slap from the 'Ogbanje' girl. He had to be carried out of the church on a stretcher as he was hospitalized for close to one month. Luckily for him, he was recuperating better and was striving up his health ladder. I was on my way back from my numerous visits to Theo in the hospital when something happened that I would never forget in a hurry.

I was walking briskly along a narrow deserted path, busy manipulating my blackberry mobile phone when I started hearing loud noises.

'Thief! Thief! Ole! Barawo! Oleburuku o! Catch am, catch am!' The shouts became louder as they headed towards my direction with the angry mob in hot pursuit of a thief.

Their perspective became clearer and clearer as they drew more and more closer. I could sight the thief running in full speed, in a real race he could have given Usain Bolt a run for his money as he sped faster than the wind.

I brought out my blackberry phone intending to take a snapshot of his face because he was just feets away from me now, I was just about taking the shot when the thief drew closer to me and snatched my phone away.

O my God, I must be dreaming. My blackberry bold 6, a phone Emma 'Managed' to dash me from his numerous 'Find for keeps' missions, Even if this thief enters hell fire, I must follow him to collect my BB back.

I instantly took to my heels as the mob was still on his trail, pursuing him as if my life depended on it.

'Thief o, Thief! My blackberry o' I yelled as I joined in the chase. I have never seen a human being run as fast as this thief but we were on the same page as I ran like never before.

Fortunately or should I say unfortunately, another handful of the angry mob ambushed the thief from his front, catching him before he could make another turn.

Phew! Thank goodness, I could collect my phone now. The angry mob dragged the thief unto the floor and began beating him mercilessly, hitting him with whatever they could lay their hands on, planks, stones, all landed on his body.

'Confess now or we go kill you for here! Show us your partner!' A man yelled from amidst the mob.

'Yes, army robber! Confess now ooo' Another woman voiced out on top of her voice. The angry mob continued raining beatings on the thief's body.

I instantly became angry at the thief. He didn't see who to steal from, but from me, Valentine Mbano, my BB bold 6, choi, if I no do you strong thing for here today call me bastard!.

I pulled off my jacket, rolled up my sleeves and stretched forth my hands in reckless abandon, straining my right hand as I prepared to give him a slap he won't forget in a hurry.

I excused myself in between the mob until I finally got to the fore front where the main lynchers were having a field time.

Tightening my fists in a powerful but yet stabilized manner, I raised my hands upwards and with full force, I slapped the hell out of his face. That type of slap that would format everything in your brain.

The thief raised up his head and fixed a gaze at me as he sat on the floor speechless, that slap must have entered his medulla oblongata when he opened his mouth and said those words which made me regret ever chasing him.

'I go confess, I swear I go confess o' He shouted to the lynchers who stopped beating him and asked him to start confessing.

'Oya confess now now or we go kill you for here! Where your partner dey?' A man yelled.

'Abeg I go confess, I go show una my partner' The thief said. 'Na my partner get this phone' He brought out my blackberry phone from his pocket and showed it to everyone.

'Na him be this! Na him get this phone' The thief added pointing to me.

What happened next would be updated from my hospital bed.

Only a few days away from Nairaland and you already made the frontpage. Wow! Am glad I am a part of this wonderful piece.
I may want to criticise your work, but all has been said and I hope you'll do something about it.
Now my own correction is written below in bold.
If you will agree with me, this is a comedy right? And you want people to enjoy reading this piece? Then you are not making this enjoyable to say the truth.
I think by all standards, if you want to write comedies here on Nairaland, then you have to update frequently, the way you update is killing the vibe, I believe you can up your game.
Give a specific time when you'll be dropping your updates, so pple can look forward to it.

Just my 2cents.
Thanx alot boss.. Time noted, infact I don't need to be told to update regularly, just that today was really hectic for me, had to attend an unplanned lecture and do some other important stuffs... Promise to post more often.

Episode 17.

Theo began prophesizing fervently, speaking in tongues and languages not even the devil understood. I was extremely amazed. If Theo's sudden change in character was genuine then it certainly meant the world was coming to an end. Theo of all people, the devil's incarnate himself, climbing the pulpit to pray? Then I'll surely give my life to Christ then.

'There is someone here that is having headache, come out immediately!' Theo, sorry Reverend T. ordered. Scores of people came out excitedly. What the hell, couldn't they see that was just an ordinary prophecy? I was still pondering on the foolishness of the church members when Theo called out again.

'There is someone here. You are a human being and you are in this church. You are having stomach pains and headache, I say comeout!' Theo ordered again. By now, half the church's population was out.

I was seeing magic. People seemed to have fallen for Theo's enchantments. Whatever he had done had blinded them from seeing that he was just a trickster. Who wasn't a human being and wasn't inside the church? Someone needed to spank the foolishness out of this congregation.

Theo began a hot prayer session in which he supposedly healed them of their infirmities. The church became rowdy with people jubilant and excited as to their 'Healing'. Hmmn, I just sat from my seat, watching their lies with my 3D lens.

As if being directed from above and with seriousness on his face, Reverend T lifted his hands upwards and began murmuring words audible to himself only. He demanded decorum in the church auditorium cutting short the celebrating party.

'If you know you are an 'Ogbanje' and you are seated in this church auditorium, I command you to come forward!' Reverend Theo commanded.

Ghen Ghen! Now he began the search for trouble. We all know what ogbanje meant nau.

From where I sat, I began to hear the murmurings of the ushers and workers in the church, something that the Reverend shouldn't do what he was about to do.

I was beginning to believe Theo's powers were genuine when a handful of sexy gorgeous ladies stepped forward to the altar.

Reverend Theo came down from the altar and made towards them. He stood in front of the ladies and said some words when all of a sudden, all the ladies except one fell 'under the anointing'.

The one girl still stood her ground, as if she didn't even feel anything. Theo was taken aback. He tapped her on the chest almost close to her bosoms and said his words again but still yet, she stood fixed and unshaken.

Theo was already shaking visibly. He has jammed a real 'Ogbanje' and I couldn't help but watch what was about to happen.

He held her by the hand and one could see that he was forcefully forcing her to 'fall under the anointing' but for where! This girl just stood hands akimbo with raging eyes fixed at Theo.

Theo looked up from the altar and that was when our eyes locked. Just like instagram, he instantly sent me a message with his eyes which read,

'Guy, I don enter today oo, abeg if I no fit make am out of here alive, abeg give me a befitting burial'. Theo looked extremely frightened. He was scared to the bone. He held her hands one more time and said his words again but still this girl didn't burge.

'This reverend don die today, who tell am make him call out ogbanje? Abi him think say na overseas him dey?' One usher mumbled out.

'Make we rush go hold that girl before she go kill the man o' A second usher said as they rushed to the pulpit where Theo ministered while I voluntarily went to help them hold the girl.

Theo approached her again to hold her hand but it seemed she was already infuriated by now.

She grabbed the collar of Rev. T's robe tightly in such a way that he couldn't move. Now raising her left hand in reckless abandon, she brought it down in full speed as it headed towards Theo's cheeks.

Good gracious. I was able to intercept it before it landed on his face. I held her left hand firmly and guided it down, but she still had her right grip on T's robe. Theo grappled to release himself from her grasp but all to no avail.

Ushers had ran towards us to separate them but couldn't. Her hand on him was like a permanent glue.

'Hold am tight na, make her hand no free o' An usher shouted in pidgin.

It seemed like we had already blocked her away completely from theo but then the unfortunate happened.

An usher wanted to balance himself in order to hold her more tightly when the 'Ogbanje' lady found a little space, raised her hand up and landed Theo with the most sounding and painful slap ever!

Theo summersaulted three times in the air and landed on the floor rolling. Choi!, I quickly let go of my hand from her before I received my portion.

She gave Theo a wicked look before exiting the church premises.

My guy's face had turned 360. He now looked exactly how my warped pictures looked like whenever I was editing my snapped pics on my phone.

You should have been there to see his face.

I like ur piece, infact I was forced to track ur updates up till this last episode. Kudos!
MY TAKE:
While each episode is very encompassing and funny, the characters are becoming disjointed. As in, you are not looping them together. You could be another JK Rowlings but still have more work to do on building up 40% of ur characters more strongly, if you'll be killing some off, let the readers reason wt why and when.
EG,
-how about 'Stephanie' in ep 2, she shld still be in d show or make us know what happened to her.
-how did d food seller get 2 know that ur display was orchestrated 4 her to bring police in that short a time (reader were doing d guess, like maybe she 'studied u guys unawares' u when she went 4 d drinking water) then u could hint that when she came wt d police officers.
-where those gangsters came from was unknown, and how could they pursue a random person like they have scores to settle. Next time u cld make ur readers understand that d main xter was a mischievous socialite wanted by all.
-Each episode grows much faster into the future, eg, the two friends did not ponder into their ordeals that morning (almost getting jailed/killed) b4 venturing into a new venture. And everytn happened so fast without reference to earlier occurences.

-Last shot: if u'll want to write a beautiful piece like this I'll suggest u write it out in full and not this microtintin social style. U'll becoming a writer, so make us feel you'll giving us a novel and not just a fast one on NL. U'll get used to it and be a better writer.

PLS: Just my observation. I ain't a professional writer self.
I appreciate your time used in noting down and observing my flaws.... But pls bear in mind that I will surely make references to used characters cuz I wouldn't just add a character to the story just for writing sake
