adejaresalami1: I think that was exactly what I meant , you saying arabic is compulsory in solat will not make a muslim strive toward learning it.
Tell me....all those supplications from the prophet, how is expected to say it if he or she doesn't understand arabic. Arabic is needed in every aspect of our religion that is why seeking is compulsory according to the saying of the prophet(pbuh) Don't think I will reply you Jumat08: As-Salam Alaykum...... All praise be to Allah the lord of the worlds and he is the All knowing. You can supplicate to Allah in any other languages but the ritual prayer must be in Arabic, performing the ritual prayer in another language can not be equivalent to its original language and meanings, Allah's word does not lie, Quran 54 verse 17 says..."And we have made the quran easy to remember, then there is any one who will remember(or receive admonition)?" Secondly,Allah doesn't want to make things hard for us and he says in quran 2 verse 185..."Allah intends for you with ease, and he does not want to make things difficult for you". These verses i quoted signifies that Islam is ease and it was made easy to practice for us,for how long will one continue to pray in english? We should not see things as huge as mountains and not make things difficult for ourselves, Shaytan(the devil)takes advantage of these situations where people make islam difficult for theirselves, Seek for knowledge and you will get it.May Allah strengthen our Iman, Allak knows best. |

Matican: A new Muslim who has yet to learn to do Solaat in Arabic should join the congregation and simply follow the Imaam's lead. If he/she has time to learn to do Solaat in any other language, he/she sure has enough time to learn it in Arabic. If however he couldn't possibly learn except in some other language than Arabic- a situation which is farfetched, the permissibility to pray in any other language might be applicable on a case by case basis, fearing Allah as much as doable. OK |

dvee2: Everything you said is correct with the exception of where you quoted " Only compulsory when praying salat". I can confidently tell you that praying salat in Arabic is highly recommended and its the best, but its not compulsory. one can perform salat in English and would be very well accepted by Allah. especially a revert who has not yet perfected his Arabic recitation. Thanks, Allah knows best. Thanks for the correction. |

truthman2012: How does it make sense to anyone that a symbol stands for nothing. What is the meaning of the word "symbol" ?
Symbol is defined by Merriam Webster Dictionary as "an authoritative summary of faith or doctrine"
Then why should you say a symbol stands for nothing? Why do people use symbols, for nothing? Your defence is lame, very lame in deed. Since you already know what it stands for why ask us? . Stick to your non lame answer lol. Left for you. Why did I even bother answering. Chei I have wasted my mb this early morning |

truthman2012: There is no doubt that moon as a symbol is generally accepted in islamic world, hence it is in the flag of all muslims nations.
Yes, my question remains: why the choice of the moon as islamic symbol, knowing fully well that moon worship existed before Muhammad's islam?
Why should the symbol (moon) of idolaters be chosen as islamic symbol?
Please note that there are so many similarities between islamic worship and idol worship before islam in Mecca and again there is the similarity in their symbol. When did God begin to follow the ideas of the pagans?
Check: www.nairaland.com/2644778/islam-meccans-religions-before-it So , finally decide to confirm what mischief you hiding lol and as we all said it ha no Islamic significance. Read my replies and stop trying to associate us with pagan worship lol. Google. Try harder. Next time anofia |
Islam › Re: What Does Moon Represent In Islam ? by kishimi8(m): 9:50am On Jul 03, 2016 |
It doesn't really have a meaning at all. There has never been any real symbol for islam. The very first muslim states used mainly solid colors in their flags. It wasn't until the reign of the ottoman empire that the crescent and star was used in the banner of a Muslim state. And since the ottoman empire controlled the muslim world for a very long time, Christian Europeans naturally began associating the crescent and the moon with the faith islam.
But some Muslims reject the symbol because it is rumored to have a pre-Islamic pagan meaning ( moon worshipping and all that stuff). |
Islam › Re: What Does Moon Represent In Islam ? by kishimi8(m): 9:17am On Jul 03, 2016 |
truthman2012: Cross represents Jesus Crucifixion in Christianity, what does Moon represent in Islam ? Like he replied you the moon stands for nothing. The cresent moon and star is placed on the top roof of a mosque since the reign of Ottoman in Turkey. He made it because cresent moon and star are both the creation of Allah in this universe which decorate the sky and it will give light in the dark of a night and the star can be used to find a direction R R was used by the ottoman empire as its symbol in Turkey. Nothing more A star (or stars) and crescent featuring in some combination form the basis of symbols widely found across the ancient world, with examples attested from the Eastern Mediterranean, Persia and Central Asia.[1] The symbol emerged into popular use during the 19th century as a modernistic national symbol for the Ottoman Empire during the Westernizing Tanzimat reforms. The Ottoman flag of 1844 with a white "ay-yıldız" (Turkish for "crescent-star" on a red background continues to be in use as the flag of the Republic of Turkey with minor modifications. Other states formerly part of the Ottoman Empire also used the symbol, including Libya (1951–1969 and after 2011), Tunisia (1956) and Algeria (1958). The same symbol was used in other national flags introduced during the 20th century, including the flags of Azerbaijan (1918), Pakistan (1947), Malaysia (1948), and Mauritania (1959). During the 1950s to 1960s, the symbol was re-interpreted as the symbol of Islam or the Muslim community.[2] By the 1970s, this symbolism was embraced by movements of Arab nationalism or Islamism, such as the proposed Arab Islamic Republic (1974) and the American Nation of Islam (1973).[3] |

redgem: Why are they not allowed to go close to the mosque? And where in my explanation did I say they are not allowed to go close to the mosque. Or did you jettison your comprehension capabilities somewhere? I said they can pray in their part of the mosque at home or a place secluded from the prying eyes of men The picture below best describes people like you. You are not a Muslim and you are grossly uninformed about the place of women in Islam, yet you have appointed yourself as someone who cries on their behalf, did any Muslim woman meet you to complain. redgem: I meant, why don't the women stay inside the mosque and men out to pray.. Funny enough women don't even pray outside the mosque, are the ones that pray outside the mosque. It is recommended that the pray at home or in a place secluded from men. Men can pray in or outside no problems. |
