Was asking u in relation to a line in the OP's post: Sitting at the back conotes the woman as lesser in Spiritiality and Marriage and Romance...I would have duplicated this in Religion section but I found it more romance inclined besides...They have locked their section to themselves and I will rather die than have that despicable Signature on my Profile.:
Cos I find that appalling Well I think they closed it off because people just troop in and drop insults and they are trying to avoid such. There are other Islamic forums on the Internet that are open to the public. Besides it's not like whatever they decide to discuss is important to you. Also you can enter cuz no one blocks you. If you don't like the terms and conditions attached to entering the Islamic posts section, you can just create a new account and use it to gain access |
Islam › Re: Why Do Muslims Talk In Arabic? by kishimi8(m): 2:41pm On Jul 01, 2016 |
Farmerforlife: There are two reasons for the Arabic.
First, Islam is universal. I can enter any mosque between the Arctic and Antartica, and I will be able to join the prayer with perfect understanding. I can also look for any scholar and make my needs known to him, whether he is Chinese or Venezuelan. It brings unity among Muslims.
Second, any language, uses subtle innuendos, meanings and implications, which are lost on translation because each translator will translate according to his/her own understanding. You may understand 'kick the bucket' to mean death, another person may understand it to actually mean kicking a bucket. If you are both translators, we now have two different translations..., so a judge acting on one translation may sentence the criminal to death, while the other may sentence the same criminal to kicking a bucket around... this is just a very basic example. The Quran is a Book of laws and guidance. It should not be misunderstood. Even though we have it in the original Arabic, look at how many people still, deliberately or ignorantly, misunderstand it... ISIS, Boko Haram, different sects, etc. Imagine to what extent it will be lost if the Arabic was not even available. The Christian Bible contains almost no law to follow, yet the fact that the original Hebrew/ Armaic in which it was written is lost today, has led to thousands of different views on the only real aspect of religion spoken of in the NT; theology. Therefore you have trinitarians with hundreds of different concepts of the natures of God, Jesus and the Holy spirit, you have monotheists, also with different concepts, you have some who attribute divinity to more than the trinity....etc. While Islam does have its own sects, just a cursory knowledge of the meaning of the Quran in its original language will quickly show sectarial right from wrong...barring rank stubborness of course. That is why Arabic is important to our faith, and why we learn Arabic if we want to acquire religious knowledge.
On a final note, every Muslim in this world can greet every other Muslim with 'Assalam alaykum' and bond that way. It is very useful in Hajj, when you meet all nationalities, and that is the only common spoken word (said with a broad smile) between you. We Muslims love it that way. It is why we even greet perfect strangers who look Muslim. Perfect response. Sums everything up nicely. Thanks for this reply. |

I came to enugu recently due to the problem I have with my bank account. They needed my national ID card and I was directed to Enugu South LGA to get it. On reaching there, other people who needed the same thing I came for were sitted and nothing was going on atall. I approached the guy who was incharge of the registration and he told me I must pay 200 naira for fuel or go back and come another day when there is light. I was shocked when i also found out that about 12 people sitted there refused to pay for fuel. They were waiting for nepa. I dont know what this government is turning into. The guy refused to put the gen on claiming that the generator is also bad. Pls is this obtainable in any other part of Nigeria or just in this particular lga in enugu. Pls help move this to front page to help fustrated citizens here with me. Na your brother na ask am |

It would have been better an intelligent if you answered my question like you did to the username above. Who is the persons target audience? In what language was the program being broadcasted? Where exactly is backhome? The presenter who used the Islamic greeting did he supplant it with an English or other language greeting? |

Empiree: I am honestly forced to comment on this. I can't wait till end of Ramadan to respond. I decided to go offline because I wanted to avoid back to back talks, vain talks in this Blessed month of Ramadan. Back to topic, I DISAGREE with brother lexiconkabir. Respectively, you are very wrong dear brother. You make my stomach turned.
I dont think i need to cite references further as rilwayne001 and others already did that. Brother lexiconkabir, first all, there is no way hadith can abrogate any verse of Quran....NO WAY. Do you agree?
This verse STANDS and VALID until end of time.
"THERE'S NO COMPULSION IN RELIGION"
The problem you have and those scholars you quoted have is wrong methodology. Let's assume the hadith you quoted is valid. Have you ever heard of something called "system of meaning"?, which means you can not take the above hadith or any hadith in isolation. This is lazy man methodology. You and those scholars supposed to put together all the data in reference to the hadith, put them together to form harmonious whole and then derive a meaning. You and the scholars you claimed you support took the hadith in isolation. This is very wrong and dangerous.
Now, let me explain the hadith to you if indeed it is true to begin with. The context of the hadith in reference to another hadith that you failed to cite in your #5 is when the prophet(saw) made the statement, it was in the time of war and if the apostate poses a threat to the community. So it is to mean that in that time when every man was a soldier at war and call to defend Muslim populace and then he joins the other side(enemy) and divulges the secrets of Muslim military to the enemy, then he's to be killed. This is clear case of treason. This is also general rule in any given nations today.
There is ABSOLUTELY NO COMPULSION in Islam. You and your scholars go against Quran.
The thing is, in Islam, there is no separation of Church(Mosque) and State. Therefore, if a Muslim openly renounces Islam and then saying unspeakable things against Islam which may prevent or lead people astray or speak against the state, this is considered treason. It is only then govt will act NOT individual. When such a person in punished in our modern time, non-Muslims do not look at it as treason but as religious repression. They failed proper investigation.
As for your statement that Sahih hadith are ALL REVELATIONS, brother, it takes a very simply physics to dispel such mythology of yours. Yes, hadith is revelation also as reported by the prophet(saw) himself. But there is no where Allah guarantees protection of any religious Books or any books except Qur'an.
Allah Knows Best Alhamdulillah, this just settles everything. Lexiconkabir sounds like someone who has been misguided May Allah show him the right path. |

Dare2differ doveda daretodiffer or whatever you go by...Howdy?
Forgive Typos or maybe... Islam is all about preventing bad things before they happen by cutting off the source of temptation. When you are about to pray you need to focus, nothing is distracting to man like the site of a woman. So that's why they are separated from each ot in the mosque just to avoid temptation a not for the reasons you assumed ignorantly. I recall reading of guy going to church only to see and meet ladies or som just focusing on hot women throughout the church service . Some even forget what got them there in the first place. Or is it stories of pastors sleeping with church members, pastors getting distracted by half unclad women? Use you brain to think logically and extricate yourself from hate. |

0rex: A muslim visits you or is hosting a radio program and goes "Salam wa ilekum" when he/she can easily and more understandably say "peace be unto you". Why is this so?
Is it a religious tenet for Muslims to speak in Arabic? Using the language in which the holy book was revealed help to curb the loss of the message due to translation errors. Arabic is a language with so many nuances that translation or transliteration is hardly 100%correct. So use of the language. Is encouraged but not compulsory. Only compulsory when praying salat. Not compulsory when you wanna talk to God directly, here a language you best understand is better. |
