Autos › Re: How Did You Buy Your First Car by Kizito55: 7:07am On Jan 08, 2021 |
baba4thegehs: I'm about to buy my first car today, I'm really hoping this will be a good decision. So I saw an Honda DC on jiji some days ago, called a mechanic to come help me inspect the car yesterday. Unfortunately we we're unable to meet with the actual end user, who apparently gave the car to someone in his estate to close the deal for him.
Car body looks decent as it was the first body, my mechanic who's an honda specialist got inside the car checks the AC engine sound, etc all good. Afterwards we took the car for test drive, AC was chilled as f, selection was accurate, breaks and shocks good too, no funny sounds. The tires were changed some months ago, the actual owner of the car really did maintained the car.
My mechanic was impressed he literally said I should not let the car go by, the fixes to be done on the car were kinda minor just scratch on the front bumper and headlights, then a small hire line crack on the windscreen which I can ignore till I can get a replacement. So we went back and renegotiate the price, but unfortunately their last price was above the budget.
We left and later in the day I called my contact to confirm the mileage on the car as I noticed we didn't check for that during the inspection, and he said he would confirm and get back to me, after sometime he sent a whatsapp image and guess what, this car has a mileage of 419,083 miles.
I was kinda surprised that a car with such mileage still looks so good engine, body, interior and legs etc, and my mechanic was like that also skipped his mind while we were inspecting but assured me interms of performance that the car is a beast but mileage only means the owner used the car but also maintained it along side.
So I told contact I'll get back to him this morning, so guys my ask is, does the mileage really mean that much when buying a used car, can I proceed with this deal?. But I also suspect that he might have bought the car with a high mileage.
So yeah... that's my story. Will update y'all later today with some more pics and my final decision. 400+ is on a high side, but since your mechanic says the car is a good deal, you can use the high car mileage to try and beat the price down to your budget if he would agree and tell him you have cash and ready to pay. The car looks neat Congratulations in Advance |

Johnwicked: I’ve been contemplating getting this ride for a long time, I am a graduate with no pressing responsibilities but house rent. I recently came across a clean US Toks for 3.5/3.7m. I plan on using it to commute to and fro work comfortably, I’m not sure of it’s maintenance cost and it’s general fuel consumption so I’d like to know if this might be above my budget. Thanks If in your work place there is a cooperative, then get a loan from them and they would be deducting the money from your salary, u can use the little you're also saved add to it and get your car |

Anthonyo15: TMA 1 COMPLETION/SUBMISSION GAUGE
I hereby introduce to you a new feature which has just been added to the portal nouonline.net to determine the level or percentage of your TMA. As you are submitting your TMA, the virtual gauge reads along to indicate your submission progress. It is a very brilliant and innovative idea that was developed last semester.
How do I know my TMA has been submitted?
To determine if your TMA has been submitted or not check the completion meter indicating your percentage. 100% means your TMA 1 has been completely submitted while lower values indicate you are offering not only departmental courses but still check your scores one by one.
Macharthony Solutions⛄ Nice one.....thumbs up |
