The man wants a military that answers only to him and that he plans to use to storm sanctuary cities. If he gets his way, America will start to see what we take as a fact of life in Nigeria, government sanctioned massacres by the military.

He wants to destroy regulatory bodies. As I Nigerian I know what happens when you have poor regulation. Collapsing buildings, proliferation of dangerous drugs, planes falling out of the sky.

If he and his cronies succeed, federal jobs may become like civil service in Nigeria, populated not be dedicated professionals, but lazy clock watchers.

Russia has become a paper tiger because of endemic corruption and a culture where advancement is tied to loyalty rather than competence.

This is the future team trump will bring to the united. states.

I binge-watched Silo........ The cinematography was great. But, that scene where the woman sherrif (not good with names) was hanging over the rail of the stirs was cringy. I mean, come on, you could easily fall over with all the punches she collected while dangling there...haba.. It definitely is a great thriller! 7/10.

I just concluded the Wailing. I was lost by the end of the film and had to resort to good old reddit for analysis. I got the hint that the Shaman who was helping the police man wore a similar underwear to that of the Japanese man in the police man dreams from early on in the movie.

I was shocked when the monk warned the police man about the lady in white. I actually thought she was the demon. But, na, it seems the basta'rd shaman was the demon's agent all along. haha...

To think that the Writer of the movie actually was inspired by the death of his friends who died after one another is insane!!!!!!!

The ending left me with a thousand questions self.....10/10.

Raumdeuter's goal in this thread is not to elucidate ideas but wield his "ignorance" as battering ram to shut them down.
That perspective is odd to me.
If I believe in something, I should be able to argue it without gaslighting.

But this particular argument is concerning.
When I hear men downplay Domestic Abuse or Sexual Violence, I often wonder what their motivation is in doing so.

The truth is both are underreported as is, mostly because of the taboo, powerlessness of it and cultural teachings.
And acting as if it doesn't exist in Nigeria of all places is insane.

This is from Wikipedia:

By Raumdeuter's words here I don't think it would be a stretch to say he believes it's socially acceptable.
But that is why I can't ever support Trump. Look at him and all the people around him who have been liable or accused of Sexual Violence or Domestic Abuse.
We can't normalize that in the US again.
Hopefully, Raum will review the stats and come back to correct himself.

He doesn’t like people who mock the disabled and promote sexual assault on women.

Just because you said something doesn’t make it true.
He stole national security secrets and held them at his private residence. Who lied about that? He used campaign funds to pay hush money to a sex worker. Was that a lie too? Just opening your mouth doesn’t mean whatever you say is meaningful.

Every charge against him was something he did. And I bet he surely did more. I know charges weren’t brought against him for those because they always need strong evidence before proceeding. Unlike you guys that just say unfounded things and run with it true or not.

If you actually want to know the reason why Republican are loosening the grip on child labour laws you would but you don't want to escape your bubble.
Can you explain.. I don't see a valid reason to soften Child Labor laws.

Like I've always said I'm not even a Republican - I just believed all political parties have big flaws of but you're a Democrat who believes Dems are for the working class and you can't even defend your party, isn't that hypocritical and senseless.
I would argue that the demos have a faction of nutcases, radical lefts that give the entire group a bad name. They are also the same group that didn't support Kamala because of Palestine..

Like I've been saying you're a bot who just repeats what your party wants you to think. Think for yourself for once in your life. Your party said killing unborn babies is awesome and your wiring tells you you should believe that. You can't even explain why Dems are for the working class because you haven't been programmed to explain
Unborn babies die all the time. I don't think this is relevant matter. It was just used as a proxy by repubs to stir up women into voting for them.

The Wailing..........9.9/10
(Korean)

Now this is what you call premium horror storytelling at its PEAK!!

It is intense, gritty, gripping and a chilling take in Asian folk horror.
It's a story about a Korean village that starts experiencing weird mürders and chaos when a strange Japanese man starts living with them. A man must do what it takes to save his daughter after she seemingly becomes the next victim and make sense of the whole thing.

It blends different tropes and themes and turns it on its head with shocking twists. Something that turns out being a zombie plague, slowly devolves into a possession story, then a ghost story and then a demonic manifestation with elements of Christianity and Buddhism rolled in, now throw in pristine psychological térror.
The result is a perfect blend of some of horrors best tropes held in a tight and complex writing vision. It's the best writing I've seen in a horror movie in a long while.

Its also very ambiguous and confusing as things evolve especially in the third act which I must say is the strongest third act I've seen in horror. This wild tale takes you through Asian folklore, you might miss some things and context if you ain't paying close attention to details. It has the best twist and fine writing the genre has produced.

One thing I love about this movie, is how it took its sweet time on character development on the various characters. Makes it more personal and involved compared to Hollywood. Even the "big bad evil entity" has the best writing and development I've seen the genre produce. The "great evil" also has a personality, a method to the m@dness and not the familiar supernaturally just evil for evil sake I've been used to. The stakes were higher. The editing amplifies the tension to the maximum.
It's more refined as this doesn't rely on jumpscares to scare you. It will genuinely creep on you slowly.
The cinematography, the sound, the rain, the set, the environment and the air is filled with dread you don't know what to expect. It's unpredictable!

If you're not enmeshed in the horror genre, this will spook you real hard. Especially for a Nigerian with similar traditional or supernatural beliefs. grin
This one promises to really fvvk y'all up.

This is the best horror movie I've ever watched hands down. Bruh, these Asians and their horror films don't joke and don't dwell on overused tropes unlike Hollywood. Asian horror are superior to Hollywood horror movies. It's probably in TV shows I can say Hollywood turns up big.

Don't know why I been sleeping on this film for years. This is a MASTERPIECE!! Automatically one of my favourite horror films, if not the ONE.
One of the few films where I wholeheartedly embraced the long runtime.
The way you right is waht will make me watch this film. Awesome writing!

There has to exist a direct connection between this final thought of yours and the reality of things as they exist. That connection is entirely missing from all of your write-ups so far. undecided

2. There are 774 local government areas in Nigeria... municipalities where if the people truly wished for progress, they could easily begin making it happen for themselves as is. To date, none of those 774 municipalities can boast of any of the following
■ Clean water supply to homes
■ Robust sewage and water management system
■ Effective Waste management system
■ Good schools with world-standard educational and Skills training services
■ Internet connectivity in both homes and businesses
■ Electricity supply to homes and businesses(through building of dams, use of wind turbines, and better distribution services)
■ World Standard equipped Healthcare network
■ Sturdy road network complete
■ Passenger Rail system linking at least the major towns and cities
■ Network of Libraries with free access to members of the public to support learning
■ Better prison facilities and rehabilitation programs
■ Expansion of police-community programs to help capture crimes across all parts of the state.
■ Robust Gas transmission network for the direct piping of gas into homes. , etc.

And this is all despite the billions in remissions sent back to Nigeria year after year by people abroad. So, what makes you think that division of Nigeria is the answer to development at the local level where nothing really stopping that even today. undecided
They use it to fund "I better pass my neighbor" projects. grin grin grin

You have no say, whatsoever, in the things I can and can't do. My energy is mine for spending, and I spend it how I please. This is a Nigerian thread opened to discuss American politics, not for Ijebos to come and gloat that he's made it to La La Land.

That aside, it's you who clumps all republicans and democrats into one box. Both sides are a spectrum, they are instances where values of both sides overlap. Some democrats also voted against raising the minimum wage. Some republicans voted for rising minimum wages.

Don't play semantics. You very well know the illegal immigration being talked about.

I'm not demo or repub, as I am not registered to either political party. However, one could say I hold liberal ideals, since, liberalism transcends country or race.

Whether the illegal immigration is legal or not, the point still remains the majority of voters (repubs, former demos, independent voters) all thought illegal immigration was a problem.
If your media houses weren't so beggy for attention and exploiting sensationalism to garner ratings, maybe we wouldn't have this problem.

eschew life in the US after college to move back to Nigeria to make a difference.
Interesting choice of words. For someone who claims to expect people to act decently, you stink of classism, very much like the white supremacist that you're complaining about.

Eschew life in the US? What the fvck about life in the US?

Foreign AffairsRe: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by kkins25(m): 5:54pm On Nov 13, 2024
IjeBos:
1.) You've assumed too much. My argument isn't with the pay, it's the contradiction of Trump supporters who say inflation is high, yet want to create policies to make it higher. Or say they don't want immigrants doing certain jobs, like in Ohio, but they won't do those jobs themselves.
Trump supporters and the majority of American people are not satisfied with the illegal immigration. You paint it as if Americans don't want immigrants. Please, keep the "illegal" part in there. When you yourself are there living as an immigrant. Has anybody come there to send you home, yet?

Again, majority voted toward curbing the influx of illegal immigrants. We know the elections were fair and square, and represent the will of the people. If the people say they are concerned about illegal immigration, it's your duty, as a representative of the people, to either inform them enough of the cons of quickly shutting down the borders, or finding an alternative.

You have failed at both. Therefore, here's your sack letter, well-deserved.

According to Pew Research Center, Most Americans agree that Illegal legal immigrants fill jobs that Americans don't want. Nobody has denied this, not the republicans. However, more republicans are willing to take on those so-called jobs compared to democrats. 37% of Republican voters would like to have those jobs that you claim only illegal immigrants work at.

www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/10/21/most-us-voters-say-immigrants-no-matter-their-legal-status-mostly-take-jobs-citizens-dont-want/

But as to that point, where do you think Walmarts were best situated? And who do you think is buying goods at the Dollar Tree? Are those places not exploitative if the people in the factories making their goods?
I can't beat them, so join them?

Americans, rebups, and a smaller percentage of demos complain about illegal immigration. Trump spotted the train and rode it for free. You were more focused on things Americans weren't concerned about.

Most Dems I know are comfortable paying a living wage. Massachusetts just increased the minimum wage. It's generally Republicans arguing against it.
Are the cost of living between these states the same? I don't have to be an American to apply the 2+2 that works over here, there. The average income of residents of Lagos is higher than others. The cost of living is equally high.

So, someone earning 100,000 Naira in Kaduna, purchase power parity wise, actually has better standard of living, than his counterpart in Lagos. I think I understand basic economics.

Blue states have in general have higher cost of living. So, the higher wages, isn't that Dems are better people, it's that anything below what it pays now is slavery. And, no American wants to live in Blue and earn like they live in Alabama. It's common 2+2!

Like I said, go to drawing board, and come up with a different solution.

If you want to make a point at least make it consistent with reality. For Trump supporters, this isn't an argument about not exploiting immigrants. It's the belief that the US is giving them too much and that they don't belong or xenophobia. Look at what happened in Springfield Ohio. You keep trying to make these high minded arguments to support Trump. Give it a rest.
You've seen my comments here. We all know, bar Trump hardcore supporters, that misinformation was at's it's pinnacle during this campaign. But, misinformation, itself, wasn't what drove Americans to Donald.

And, concerns about illegal immigration. Key word = illegal

2.) X is collapsing. It's been devalued at 75% since musk bought it and after what he did during this election I'm sure will decline more.
As a business, yes. As a social platform and it's impact? I don't think so. You lost the elections, didn't you?

Yes, I expect Kumbaya. I expect people not to see people based on the color of their skin.
If you somehow device the ability to eliminate the ability to feel emotions and that component that makes people go "Us versus them," from people, then that'll be great. Otherwise, stop smoking blunt.

It will happen, but by then, both our bones would have turned to fossil fuel.

3.) Maybe instead of lecturing me on what the US should look like without an understanding of what the US was founded on, you can take that energy and focus it on doing more to help Nigeria.
I do help Nigeria. For example, some of it's inhabitants can't fund their education. And, I help Nigeria by helping her fund the education of those inhabitants. I've taught over 300 students, with many coming back to tell me how I impacted their lives in ways no other teacher has, even though I spent just a measly two years with them. Girls are comfortable enough to discuss mensuration cycles, relationships, family drama with me. Boys don't use "bitch" "hoe" to refer to women because I instruct them not to. Boys and girls study hard to make at university level and show me their results because I encourage them to.

I don't just help Nigeria, I extend my impact on youths all the way to America. I write about personal finance, self-development, etc. for an American teenage audience. Likewise, I help write practical guides on exercising for American Seniors as well. Oh, I do write introductory guides about investing for American adults as well, my guy.

The difference between me and you are just circumstances and age. Nothing much!
I reject your argument that it is either I accept racism or leave to a country that people can't afford to eat. Everyone should be able to live in a world where they are not discriminated by the color of their skin and also be able to eat.
I cannot travel to Saudi Arabia, where I know they hate blacks and demand that they treat me with respect. While it's a lovely ideal to have, it's just not realistic. If you don't like what they offer, leave. It's their country, not yours.

You can come back here, where you'd be loved, and welcomed with open arms. Plus, Instead of staying in America and whining about racism, you could help Nigeria, by helping it become a better America.

You seem to feel like you don't deserve more.
Everybody deserves more. The illegal immigrants, whose governments have turned them to peasants begging to come and enslave themselves so you can live comfortable lives with low cost of living, deserve more than just wiping ass and picking oranges.
The people who voted for Trump deserve more.
The democrats deserve more.
I deserve more.
You deserve more.
We all deserve more.

But, Manna doesn't fall from heaven.

It looks like Nigeria has broken you. I guess hunger can do that.
Tell me more about racism.

If there's anybody on the planet that society cannot break, it's Nigerians! That's why you can go there and excel even better than Black Americans. Have some faith in us!

They will have to revamp the whole immigration system first to even make it workable.
Especially Asylum.
But with the Supreme Court in the hands of Republicans, I'm sure they'll find a rational to bypass the Asylum laws if challenged.

But, that's just one of the many problems.
There are so many jobs that undocumented immigrants fill that would cause ripples through the economy.
Least being inflation.
I watch people harvesting crops and am always amazed at how hard they work to meet their quotas.

Going to enjoy watching the Trump supporters in this thread rationalizing all to come.
You know, for people clamoring for equality and taxing the rich more, I'm curious, why y'all insistent on exploiting illegal immigrants to perform such jobs? Let's stop this "whitewashing" and call it what it is---exploitation. You need to exploit poor immigrants to do the dirty job.

Not only would you exploit said individuals through labor, you'll also exploit them to contribute to Social Security. Jesus! As the self-acclaimed morality police, y'all are really nasty. Colonizing exploiters!

Is that the best all you can do? Is that the only strategy there is---exploitation? Can't y'all think of something else besides this 21st century slavery?
