Here you go, this began in the 1950s.... https://www.britannica.com/science/Miller-Urey-experiment. it has been replicated severally and the verdict remains the same. In the right conditions inorganic molecules could react to for organic-life-supporting, molecules.

Ask chatgpt or any baby science textbook if a virus is a living organism. Why are you foolish like this? Bible, you no sabi.
Yes. but that is the definition we give to SSS students. grin grin. Us biologist argue as to the state of being of a virus. here's a Virus according to Wiki

A virus is a submicroscopic infectious agent that replicates only inside the living cells of an organism.[1] Viruses infect all life forms, from animals and plants to microorganisms, including bacteria and archaea.[2][3] Viruses are found in almost every ecosystem on Earth and are the most numerous type of biological entity.[4][5]

The creation period was divided into six parts called days but not 24 literal hour days cos the heaven and the earth were already there in the beginning . The entire universe is about 14 billion years old...
Genesis 2 even described God as creating everything in one day
So each creative day may have span thousands of years
So, why do you have a sabbath day? If the entire universe is about 14 billion years old, when was Adam created? And, how does that tally with the Genealogy of Jesus Christ who can be traced back to Adam via the gospel accounts.

Lemme bring it down to your shallow understanding. And I'll use football soccer
Guy, Bible is too much for your type and that's why you will continue to cap nonsense and be angry over what you were misinformed in
When was Adam formed? What was Adam? A man, or a homo Habilis?

Is there day and night from God's dwelling place? we only have day and night cos of the movement of the Earth on the solar system. Only on earth do we have the 24 hours stuff of day and night cos of its movement and the satellite and the sunlight.
You need proper education of the Bible my dear and allow all those misconceptions escape your skull
I wouldn't know. If you did know, then maybe you've spoken to God, which I doubt, or you're speaking on his behalf, and saying things he never said. As usual with christians.

You call Abiogenesis an idea in the beginning
Towards the end, it was disproved and an idea was that maggots or mouse could arise from non-living matter
Which one have you observed by yourself?

Abiogenesis vs Biogenesis
If you go to an island where nothing or nobody has ever inhabited ever and you see a baby playing with a shell. What comes to your mind even if you do not see the trace any mother or anything? That the baby must have somehow developed from the river?

Evolution is false
A lie
They say that multicellular organisms emerge from simple unicellular organisms like bacteria
Why don't we have just one example of bicellular, tricellular, quatricellular, quintucellular organisms?
So somehow, by a spontaneous miracle
, the human body is the end product of the primitive bacteria?
You are worse than the most brainwashed religionist

Oh Ammejah.... A baby starts of as a unicellular organism, an Embryo, becomes bicellular, then spits further, and so on. So, do plants.

1. How can you replicate biological(organic) molecules from inorganic molecules? grin no be juju be dat 😂. Maybe na for your village lab you see that one

2. "It's a work in progress my man" - How is a scientific fact a work in progress 😂

You atheists are just fooling around. You are just like the transgender fanatics using science to explain that not only women can get pregnant whereas we know that only women can get pregnant. You're just hotheaded and came to Nairaland to start trouble when y'all have nothing meaningful to offer

Abiogenesis, the idea that life arose from nonlife more than 3.5 billion years ago on Earth. A biogenesis proposes that the first life-forms generated were very simple and through a gradual process became increasingly complex. Biogenesis, in which life is derived from the reproduction of other life, was presumably preceded by abiogenesis, which became impossible once Earth’s atmosphere assumed its present composition.

Although many equate abiogenesis with the archaic theory of spontaneous generation(Aemmyjah and Sirtee15), the two ideas are quite different. According to the latter, complex life (e.g., a maggot or mouse) was thought to arise spontaneously and continually from nonliving matter. While the hypothetical process of spontaneous generation was disproved as early as the 17th century and decisively rejected in the 19th century, abiogenesis has been neither proved nor disproved.

Again
Your ignorance
How did Liger come about?
You be confam olodo
If you were honest, you wouldn't be going in circles. Okay, tell us how a dog or house cat came about. What biological phenomenon occurred that led to Dog, cats, maize, water meon, pineapple, and so on?

1. You said Abiogenesis is a fact. No science textbook or Chatgpt agree. Olodo

Abiogenesis is a broad term, a hypothesis that tries to explain the evolution of inorganic molecules to organic molecules, and to living organisms.

As I said, the transformation of inorganic molecules to biological molecules has already been demonstrated in the lab. Scientists were able to mimic environmental conditions that would have existed millions of years ago at the ocean's floor where ife first began.

Your ignorance is becoming as glaring as the morning sun. You claim it's impossible for inorganic molecules to become organic, but you believe god molded man out of dust and clay. Tell me, are these not inorganic molecules? Can you explain the mechanism, used by god to turn clay inot a breathing man?

2. You mentioned something about HIV? HIV is a virus and not a biological or living organism. Olodo. Go and meet any pupil who studied elementary science
Good. At least you know this. Now, HIV is parasitic, why don't you ask yourself, how comes something like HIV exists? Waht's its purpose? This cannot be a mistake because, HIV knows to target the one thing that can kill it, that is, the immune system first before going out to target other systems. Why? Why does the HIV membrane have molecular extensions that can interact specifically with the cells of certain organisms? How did HIV have the ability to bypass the nucleus of the cell and know how to hijack the DNA? How? Intelligent design? But, you said it's not a living thing.

3. Ligers are hybrids created by human breeders in zoos or animal sanctuaries. You don't know history, science or biology or even logic. You don't just know anything but you crown yourself as emeritus when you know nothing
But, you do know, these are lab experiments and barely happens in the wild, not just because they reside in different habitats, but because they are different species, right? Therefore, god didn't create the liger... Man did. We are it's God!

4. You said the Bible mentions that the world was created in 6 literal days. It was what your pastor misinformed you that is making you mad and behaving very irrational and saying what the Bible does not teach...
Then why is it understood that it was created in 6 days? And a seventh day sabbath is observed? Is jesus stupid to not know that he didn't create the world in 6 days?

The bible does not teach God create everything in 6 literal days... Your folly is a mix of ignorance and arrogance and it's a shame. So count it another 3 points for yourself

ahhhh... I see. Tell me, what's the probability of a man picking one woman out of a 100 million versus the probability of one egg being fertilized by one out of a 100 million?

The bible does not teach God created the bible in 6 days? Is that so? then why do you have a sabbath day, and not a sabbath era? grin grin

You seem to be mistaken spontaneous generation for abiogenesis..

Abiogenesis is somewhat a fact because lab experiments have replicated the formation of biological(organic) molecules from inorganic molecules. It's a work in progress my man. It's not a fact or a theory yet, and it doesn't describe one phenomena. We know bio-molecules came from inorganic molecules, but haven't been able to show how those bio molecules became self replicating. So, Abiogenesis might not be a fact per se, but it's a credible hypothesis.

When I look at Nigeria from all angles, and With my knowledge of how a nation is suppose to run, I can't find redemption coming from anywhere.

The people ain't United, are corrupt, have no integrity, divided with religion and tribe, and even ego. Where would redemption even come from? Leaders are even the worse.

About integrity, you may organise a protest or even revolution, but a cheap idiot will go spill secret for some bribe, then take the country a century backward just for his greed.

Nigeria has gotten to she stage where if evil happens to you, others just see ita as your bad luck, and hope it doesn't happen to them. What kind of a country is that? Shame.

In addition, it's an an avenue to proclaim that they alone serve a living God. When 99 people out of 100 die, a typical Nigerian goes, "God thank for sparing me." Hence, the incentive to collectively solve the country's problem is not even there. Because, person A believes they serve God better and therefore deserve better things than person B.

Would you marry a man that was the perfect man for you, but his family wasn't good/his mother did not like you?

If he gives his mom half of his salary, then, that's not a strong-willed man, ma. Mums are very good at making you(I mean their sons) feel indebted to them, so they can keep you under their control. From what you say, the guy isn't in control of his own salary. Come on!

Plus, he might be good at hiding it, but, from experience, there are times when I wanted to make moves that my mom didn't agree with and ended up not going through with them because that emotional trojan horse still lingers. He could be wise enough to avoid scenarios that cause trouble between you and the mum, but to say, he'll cut off from her for your sake, is day-dreaming.

What makes you think he'll abandon his mother he feels made him who he is for you?

On your part, why are you bothered about being on good terms with the mum? From what I know, mums are always on the lookout for flaws in their daughter-in-law. I don't really understand why women want to so badly please their mom inlaws. is there some hierarchical shit going on behind the scenes that we, men, are oblivious to?

Somebody, educate me, please.

Mod:

You better up your own emotional manipulation games:
1) Let him know of your concerns and that he should remember that you, alone, have everything to lose if things don't work out along these lines.
2) Don't try to paint the mum in bad light. That always backfires. Instead, exploit his selfishness (it's a man thingy. grin), and let him see how troubling it might be for his family (you and the future kids). And, you want him to be at his best, as he is the bedrock of the family.
3) Entice him with stuff like "The burden lies on you to break the yolk, and I will be there to support you all the way."
4) "I'm sorry I have to burden you with this, but please, it's a matter that can destroy the whole family if it's not settled. If you want it to be just me and you, fine. We'll see manage."
5) "Let's talk about this in two weeks time."

Something in that manner. Just don't paint the mum or his family in bad light. If possible, rope yourself into the drama. You too, come from home with mommy and daddy issues. and you want to cut off too. wink wink wink

It's what I would do anyway.

Did Peter agree with Paul

2 Peter 3

Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

Did John agree with the gentiles regarding divinity of Christ.

1 John 4
This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
https://www.earlychristianwritings.com/didache.html

Once, Jesus privately asked his apostles, “‘who do you say that I am?’ And Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matthew 16.15-16).

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1.3)
“Through him you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are set on God” (v. 21).

Some traditionalists cite the last clause in 2 Peter 1.1 to support that Peter believed Jesus was God. Nearly all English Bibles translate it as the New American Standard Bible (NASB) does, which reads, “of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.” One Person is in view, which calls Jesus “God.” But the King James Version (KJV) reads, “of God and our Savior Jesus Christ.” Two Persons are in view, so that Jesus is not called “God.”

This difference is due to a grammatical problem. Since soteros (Savior) in the Greek text is anarthrous (without the article), the question is whether the personal pronoun hemon (our) applies to theou (God), as in the NASB, or soteros, as in the KJV. J.N.D. Kelly says of this same issue in Titus 2.13, “‘Savior’ tended to be anarthrous (cf 1 Tim 1.1), and in any case the correct use of the article was breaking down in late Greek.”

The following internal evidence indicates that the two Persons rendering is correct:

(1) if Peter authored 1 and 2 Peter, he would not call Jesus “God” in 2 Peter 1.1 and inject confusion by distinguishing them in the next verse; (2) a similar compound title, “the/our Lord and Savior (Jesus Christ),” appears four times in this letter (2 Peter 1.11; 2.20; 3.2, 18), indicating that it had become a fixed formula that does not identify Jesus as God; (3) Peter would not have written “the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” in 1 Peter 1.3 and then call Christ “God” here in 2 Peter 1.1.

In sum, Peter did not believe Jesus was God but that he was the Christ, the Savior, the obedient and subordinate servant of the sovereign and only God—the Father.
https://21stcr.org/oneness-pentecostalism-article/did-peter-believe-jesus-was-god/

Who is the Man behind 2 Peter 1?

2 Peter 1 is the first chapter of the Second Epistle of Peter in the New Testament of the Christian Bible. The author identifies himself as "Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ" and the epistle is traditionally attributed to Peter the Apostle, but some writers argue that it is the work of Peter's followers in Rome between the years 70 and 100. --------------------https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2_Peter_1

SIRTeee15:

I'm not here to discuss John 1.1 but what 2nd temple Judaism understand by the word logos in their language- Hebrew or Aramaic, not Greek or Latin.
I hope you know that logos can be used in different contexts. So, saying you don't want to discuss John 1:1 which is the only place the logos was used to designate Jesus as a manifestation of God, shocks me.

Now let's talk about the Aramaic bible called Targum, the same Aramaic bible used by Jesus in the 1st century AD.
Now in the Aramaic bible, whenever God appears in person, like when God appeared to Abraham or Moses, the term memra (Aramaic for "word" ) is often used instead of 'the LORD', especially when referring to a manifestation of God that could be construed as anthropomorphic.
E.g instead of saying 'The LORD appeared to Abraham', it will read 'memra (the word) appeared to Abraham'.
THAT IS LOGOS.
This showed the Jews believed in the manifestation of the 'WORD' appearing as a person and being God.
Interesting. I did find that the Aramaic bible you speak of were translations done in an attempt to revert the hebrew bible to Aramaic and not the first iterations of the bible as you insinuate.

Writing down the targum was initially prohibited; nevertheless, some targumitic writings appeared as early as the middle of the first century AD. They were not recognized as authoritative by the religious leaders. Some subsequent Jewish traditions (beginning with the Babylonian Jews) accepted the written targumim as authoritative translations of the Hebrew scriptures into Aramaic. Today, the common meaning of targum is a written Aramaic translation of the Bible. Only Yemenite Jews continue to use the targumim liturgically.

This aramaic bible use of the word memra stem from the understanding of the Jews belief in what is the word of God. They understand it to be an active force proceeding from God with a life of it's own.

In the Targum, the Word or Memra is doing, being, and acting as God and yet we see that he is also with God, a distinct essence apart from Him.

And the Memra (Word) of the LORD said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light by His Memra (Word). A (Genesis 1:1–3; Targum Neofiti)

In fact, the Memra is the one who rested after all his work:

“On the seventh day, the Memra of the LORD completed his work which he had created, and there was Sabbath.” (Genesis 2:3; Targum Neofit

In Hebrew, the places you mentioned used "Messenger of God."

This is the Christian understanding of TRINITY-
manifestation of God in more than one person. This evidence and belief is shared by old testament scriptures and 2nd temple Judaism. All this before anyone was ever called Christian.

The original Christians wouldn't understand what you're saying. They didn't know anything like Trinity. They mostly didn't speak Greek either, and mind you, LOGOS as seen in John 1:1 is purely a hellenized concept. Other instances of Logos tally with the hebrew equivalent of the word except in the case of John 1:1.

And this is the same JEWISH belief John wrote about in his gospel by letting us know memra became flesh and dwelt among us.
That is the origin of the concept, my friend, a deeply rooted Jewish belief from the Old Testament.
It wasn't any extrapolation from the Greek or Roman ideology.

Whoever wrote the book of John must have been schooled in Greek. There's a common consensus that Jesus if he understood Greek, spoke very little of it. The same goes for his disciples. Even though Judea, Galilee, where Jesus was born, was probably bilingual, the Jews generally didn't speak it.

Even Josephus, who was learned in Greek, made blunders when he was translating and had to call Romans to assist. Therefore, John, Peter, James, etc couldn't have understood what Logos meant as used in John 1:1.

If the Logos was something the Jews where conversant with, then it doesn't make sense that the Jewish preist, the disciples of jesus would doubt his claims, right?

You are arguing using the bible as bases of historical event when the bible itself is what we are trying to dissect. It's like using the testimony of an alleged thief to judge a case. No, Sirtee, that's not how arguments are done. Use external sources, please.

FYI, there's a difference between biblical scholars and theologians. The latter are not very different from your pastors. If you want clarity, seek the biblical scholars.

Being on Nairaland is already a good start. Kudos!

First, define what you mean by "successful." I want money, or I want to be successful is a very vague statement. Having defined what success means to you, then do a bit of soul searching---in Jesus' words, "Know thyself."

You need to identify your strengths and weaknesses. For example, Around 2015, I learned that most people can only study for 25 minutes straight before they begin to lose focus. I thought I was a genius but discovered I'm like most people. By this time, I was in the Uni---300 level specifically. My 200lvl CGPA had dropped from 4.00 to 3.79.

Knowing my weakness, I restructured my study technique to fit the 25-minute timeframe and boosted my GPA from 3.25 to 4.5. In fact, scoring A's got boring because it was too easy.

Still on "Know Thyself"

Do you have a clear understanding of who you are? This is essential because choosing a career based on personality will enrich your life experiences. Doing the opposite will leave you bitter about the profession you're trapped in, like most people.

Money is a tool, not your self-worth

See money as a tool to garner life experiences and not as a life experience itself. money is plain paper that only has value because two or more people believe in it. It's an abstract thing. Don't base your existence on it. Doing so will send you spiraling down the dreaded dungeons of depression.

Finding purpose

People with a sense of purpose tend to live more fulfilling lives. However, don't make the mistake of wanting to end world wars. Acknowledge that some things are within your control and others beyond. Do what you can to improve your aspect of life that you have the power to control and leave the rest for "God." If you spot a societal problem that you believe you can fix, please give it a try!

Set SMART goals

Don't say, "I want to be successful," instead say, "I want to earn Bleep amount by doing the Bleep job working with Bleep factory." Then, build a strategy to achieve your laid-out goals. SMART stands for Specific, measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and time-bound. Any goals you set must satisfy the SMART conditions.

Consume Information more than food

If there's anything that has saved me in this life, it is the amount of time I spent searching the internet for things like "How to be successful," "How to choose a career," and "What can I do with a biology degree?" and so on. Visit sites like Reddit for tips from the most educated folks on the planet. Read books, watch movies. The genre doesn't matter; just do so to expand your consciousness. Although, know when to 100% focus on work/school.

What skills do you have?

What natural talents do you have that can be monetized? Writing, Problem solving, Playing with the computer, and so on. Ensure that such skills are marketable. Go on Google and find out what others with similar skills are doing to make money.

Money is your self-worth

Yes, I know, contradictory! Knowing that money is just a tool doesn't stop others from judging you by your "appearance." People treat you differently based on their perception of your net worth. Therefore, present a demeanor that forces them to treat you with respect.

Be intelligently quiet

Being slow to speak and slow to anger is a trait that might catapult you to higher places. learn to be reserved but not too reserved. Being too timid will attract bullies. There are times when you put your intelligence or wealth on display. Know when to show off! Very important!

Build meaningful relationships

Get friends who value you as a person. people who see you as a business acquaintance will only make calculated sacrifices for you. In the future, they'll come back to collect in ten folds. A person who genuinely befriends you will help you in times of need because of friendship and not business. Be good to people. Tip the market women.
