That's true, but you cannot deny that across the continent, the sub-Saharan part of it at least, were women-loving. In fact, historians trace the concept of misogyny to Rome and Greece. Christianity spread through these people, so it's no wonder Christianity and Islam are very anti-women.

Genital mutilation was a thing. Although, I don't understand why same traditions, for men and women, are given different nomenclature.
