i didnt attack him i didnt even insult him dat was y i was surprise.he was playing a very harsh play wth me dat afternun so i told him to leave me alone den he got angry n beat me
I don't believe dis! Maybe u are not telling us d truth. U mean just for him to leave u alone was what led to d four slaps & d beating dat ensued? It sounds very far fetched.

What kind of a guy does that? No matter how short tempered he is, dat's not enough reason for him to beat u. I suggest u call it a quit, because coping with people dat are short fused can be very difficult.

But concealing certain things & telling us one side of d story is bias...

I disagree, the below issues in bold are still prevalent in Nigeria

Child support, child marriage, domestic violence, child labour, female mutilation, girl child education are the major things I think African female should be fighting for not the who wash plates, who cook, and the self serving agenda
What women are fighting for is same rights & opportunities as men.

I believe Child support, child marriage, domestic violence, child labour, also involve male child. So I see no gender discrimination. But what I don't understand is female mutilation & girl child education. Anyone can be mutilated, be it male or female. As long as u are on dis earth. Why d emphasis on girl child?

As regards girl child education, based on what I know, no female child is denied admission into any school in dis country, simply because she is a girl child ( frm nursery to tertiary institution) or restrained frm studying any course, none dat I know of.

perhaps u can educate me on dis girl child education.

OP I like the fact that you said for now because it was a joke too in England for a long time but isn't today. Fact is that Nigeria is decades and maybe up to a century behind but a drop of water they say makes a mighty ocean. Women have to do their little even if it means being called any name. Our hope is that we do the little we can now and leave the next generation of women a better world than we had.

My only hope is that what Nigerian feminist or pseudo-feminist as some call us are facing today is no different from what the western women faced long time ago but did it stop feminism from happening? No. One of the major setback that early feminist in the west experienced was huddles from fellow women. Women who were either scared to go against the norm or women who have the need to get approval from men. It does not surprise me. It was and is still expected. Even Queen Victoria of England in the 1800s did not like feminists and even said Feminists ought to get a good whipping. That still did not stop feminism from happening.

Op, Most feminist I know say it that it's the culture so I don't understand what you mean by men against women. The west too had very strict cultures that oppressed women at the time feminism was at it's infancy. If they could do it then, we can do it.

Yes there is an adage that says that when you are ready for a fight, you should be ready to get injured. For feminism to happen, some of us will get called names, some of us may not get married, some of us may get divorced etc. If people can go to war and get killed to get peace, being called names, not getting married and getting divorced is a little price to pay for feminism. It is also important to know that some of us will also live a very happy life. Remember also that some non-feminist women will still be single for life, be called names and get divorced.
Lol... So u're ready to fight & get injured for a worthless cause?

It's a pity dat most women have dis innate tendency of looking down on demselves, dat's d problem. List three things only a man is allowed to do in dis country, as regards rights & opportunities? Michael jackson went for a plastic surgery just because he wasn't proud of his colour, but what did he get in return?

Women should appreciate & portray their gender in a positive & proud manner, let dem see if men won't wish dey were women. U mentioned some names of female leaders, saying nigerian women will get there soon, are u in any way saying considerable percentage of women living in dose countries are happy based on d achievements of dose female leaders?

Women have been given more dan enough leeway already in dis country, they are now fully emancipated, so I really don't understand what dis feminism issue is all about.

If their is any sector u do not find a woman in dis country, I'm convinced it's definitely not because of gender discrimination, but her inability to meet up with d requirements. Instead of telling us how u intend to care of ur hubby, u're implicitly telling us how u intend to fight & divorce him.

Babygirlfl why?

I will like u to visit some institutions in dis country, so as to see d appalling state in which students are compelled to learn. ^^^^Wow! I really like the above. Exactly how I want to raise my kids especially my daughter. many young ladies in Naija are used and treated like rags bc they're not economically empowered. if they have their own money, i bet most won't swallow rubbish. but how many of them know that the money they waste on empty big over-sized designer bags, and wigs if invested in stock and share can save them from future financial 'slavery' in the hands of abusive adulterous men?

We have peaceful & loving men in this country... In anycase, I advise u discard any breeding animosity towards men, so u don't subconsciously extend it to ur sons...

OP you need a smack on your head.
For crying out loud, you’re just giving her every reason to push you away and that’s why she’s acting the way she is. Man-up, don’t be a girl! If she doesn’t want you in her life or the child’s, there is practically nothing you can do.
Move on, get another girl, start your own family. When your baby grows up, he/she’d come out to look for his/her father, then and there you can explain situation of things to her. The more you push and clamour for the child, the more she takes the child away.
Best advise!

@ steeze u are acting like a woman, man up jor, u're man. When d ryte time comes, u son will come looking for u...

They are just helping u to take care of d boy. I want u to know dat when a child is with d mother, d chances of mistreatment is very slim, because women are d problem, when it comes to child abuse. Don't worry about d man, men no get time for such things, move on & stop forcing urself on dem...

Women are humans, so that makes dem susceptible to mistakes, saying u won't beat a woman no matter d offence she commits will only make her to do things with impunity, which is very bad, corporal punishment is d most effective way to correct any human, then tell me why a woman should be exempted?

By nature, women are likely to misbehave d more, because of their gullible, pliable nature & cartoon brain, that is why dey should beaten anytime they misbehave, d beating won't kill them, but will serve as correction & call them to order.....

To all my brothers; Stop condoning reprehensible behaviour from women & make d world a better place...

There is nothing like rape in marriage... d wife belongs to d hubby, so he can do whatever he likes with her body.

Why will a woman intentionally deprive her husband of sex? Only weak men condone dat shh!!!t, real men get whatever they want, whenever they want it... If she is tired of d union, she can go to her parents house or where ever she wants...

What message are u trying to pass across?

No one has ever justified beating a woman on this forum without cogent reasons. They always buttress their points with valid reasons. It's a well know fact today that considerable number of women in dis present generation of gender equality are rude, arrogant, uncouth, abrasive & disrespectful, If every woman respects herself, I believe no sane man will beat her...

But when she does something wrong, she should be chastise. What ladies are agitating for is absolutely wrong, while will a woman misbehave, & be commended for it, she should be penalise, & if her offence warrants corporal punishment, I see nothing wrong in correcting her through beating, it's part of discipline....
