PoliticsBuhari's Tyrannic Govt Must Be Stopped – Nnamdi Kanu by klassd(op): 12:21pm On Apr 22, 2017
The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has declared that the “tyrannical government” of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC, must be stopped.

Speaking through the spokesperson of IPOB, Emma Powerful, the incarcerated agitator on Friday said there is no more space for tyranny and repressive government in Nigeria and Africa.

He insisted that the alleged repressive and tyrannical government in Nigeria will fissile out in no distant time.

Kanu made the claim while reacting to the protest march in his honour by organised by Prince Deji Adeyanju.

In a statement signed by Powerful, the IPOB leader said the protest march shows that if people stand up for the, truth together at the same time there will be no space for tyranny and repressive government in Africa.

He commended Adeyanju for his exceptional bravery and courage in the face tyrannical intimidation.

The statement reads, “In a society as apathetic as Nigeria, very rare breed of people can boldly stand to challenge the injustice of a judicial system frightened into obeying the dictates of a brutal dictator against every tenet and norm of democratic governance and the rule of law.

“What he and other activists have done today by their actions goes to show that if many people stand up for the truth together at the same time, there won’t be any space in Africa for tyranny and repressive regimes like the one people are forced to endure under this intellectually and morally bankrupt regime in Nigeria.”

“The concerted fight against the rights of individuals, the endless humiliation of those unfortunate to find themselves in Nigeria by the security agencies especially the police and DSS under the watch of this present tyrannical All Progressives Congress, APC, government, coupled with docile and easily manipulable judiciary must be brought to an end.

“For injustice to end the entire population must rise up as one to reject it as Deji Adeyanju has tried to do. Prince Deji Adeyanju and his group the Pro-Democracy and Concerned Nigerian who stood against the injustice of APC Government directed against our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and others detained illegally alongside him is commendable and we welcome it.

“The step taken by Prince Deji Adeyanju and his group has shown that there are still some good people left who believe in equity and justice to all irrespective of ethnic nationality.

“Our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has proven over the years that truth cannot be extinguished no matter how hard the oppressors try. He has proven to Biafrans and Nigerians alike that it is better to stand on the truth than to be a slave in the land of your ancestors.”

SportsReal Vs Athletico, Monaco Vs Juventus In Champions League Draw by klassd(op): 3:55pm On Apr 21, 2017
Reigning European champions Real Madrid will play neighbours Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semifinals.

Eleven-time European champions Real, who eliminated Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals, could become the first club in the Champions League era to win the competition in successive seasons.

The Madrid clubs have met in the Champions League final in two of the past three years, with Real coming out on top on both occasions.

Atletico had also reached the final in 1974, when they lost to Bayern, but have yet to win the competition.

Atletico director Clemente Villaverde said the club were not daunted by facing their rivals again, while Real director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno said past meetings will have no bearing on the clash.

The other tie sees Ligue 1 leaders Monaco taking on Italian champions Juventus.
Juventus, European champions in 1985 and 1996, lost the final to Barcelona in 2015 but defeated Luis Enrique's side 3-0 on aggregate in this year's quarterfinals.

Monaco have only once reached the final, losing to Jose Mourinho's Porto in 2004. They eliminated Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund on their way to the last four.

Juventus director Pavel Nedved said the club could go all the way but warned that semifinal opponents Monaco would pose a tough challenge.

Meanwhile, Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev said his side had the chance to gain revenge for their defeat to the same club in the 2015 quarterfinals.

According to the Soccer Power Index (SPI), Real are 67 percent likely to beat Atletico, with Juve rated 70 percent likely to defeat Monaco.

The Spanish club are marginal favourites to lift the trophy, rated at 38 percent in the SPI compared to Juve's 36 percent chance.
Real Madrid will host Atletico at the Bernabeu on May 2 before travelling to the Calderon eight days later on May 10.

Juventus will go to the Stade Louis II on May 3 before Monaco travel to Turin the following week on May 9.
The final will be played at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on June 3.
SEMIFINAL DRAW:
The first legs will take place on May 2 and 3, with the second legs the following week.

BusinessNigeria Loses Africas Top Oil Producer Position To Angola by klassd(op): 5:59am On Apr 18, 2017
Nigeria’s crude oil production fell by 156,900 barrels per day (bpd) to 1.269 million bpd in March, from 1.426mbpd recorded in February.

Consequently, the country lost its status as Africa’s top oil producer to Angola, according to latest data from the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

With the cumulative loss of 4.8 million barrels in the month under review put in cost at the prevailing $55.89 per barrel for Brent crude, Nigeria is estimated to have lost over $271.8 million (N82.8 billion).

Going by the Federal Government’s 2017 budget proposals, the sum could have substantially funded the expenditure for water resources, put at N85 billion.

This is particularly important, given the outbreak of leprosy in some parts of the northern region due to the absence of potable water.

Again, this is not the first time the nation will lose its premier position to the former Portuguese enclave, spurred majorly by crude shut-ins resulting from either militant attacks or facility maintenance by oil companies.

The Nigerian subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell Plc had shut down the Nembe Creek Trunk Line, which exports Bonny Light crude oil, in order to remove theft points.

The Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), Osagie Okunbor, had said the company was working to remove a significant number of oil theft connections and effect repairs on the pipeline.

The line, operated by Aiteo, is one of two along with the Trans Niger Pipeline that carries Bonny Light crude oil to the export terminal.SPDC has, however, completed the repair work and production is expected to peak in the next monthly report, while exports of roughly 232,000 bpd had been planned for this month.

Angola, which has been working hard to remain Africa’s top producer, climbed to the top again for being able to maintain a daily production of 1.652 million barrels since January, even though it is a drop from last quarter of 2016 levels of 1.736mbpd.

The southern African country became the top producer at the onset of renewed militancy in the Niger Delta, but Nigeria was able to recover lost grounds between December and January when the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, put the country’s production at 2mbpd.

Nigeria recorded the biggest drop in output in March among its peers in OPEC, followed by Saudi Arabia, the group’s biggest producer. The 13-member cartel, in its latest monthly oil market report for April, said Nigeria recorded the biggest decline of about 157,000bpd in the period under review.

According to OPEC, its members pumped a combined 31.93 million barrels daily last month, down by 153,000 bpd from February. Saudi Arabia was said to have produced 9.9 million bpd in March, more than 100,000 bpd below its monthly quota under the production cut deal.

OPEC said crude oil supply from non-members this year would average 57.89 million bpd due to growing output in the U.S. and modest declines in Colombia and China.

The figure is 176,000bpd higher than what OPEC projected in February for the non-members.In the U.S. alone, the cartel predicted that production would grow at an average rate of 540,000 bpd, up from last month’s forecast of a 340,000 bpd growth rate.

On the demand front, OPEC expects the world to need about 96.32 million barrels daily, a growth rate of 1.27 million bpd. India and the “Other Asia” group of countries, excluding China as designated by OPEC, are to lead this growth crusade, while China will be second, followed by the Americas.Demand for oil is seen growing by 600,000 bpd from 2016, to 32.2 million barrels daily.

Perhaps if you are refining your petroleum in Nigerian there won't be any chance of mixing. I doubt if we are even using our own oil.
yea you made a valid point. Nigeria is screwed.lol

Please rephrase, didn't quite make out what u intended to say. Issue to whom and optimised by whom?
lol sowi just realised the typo in my statement. What I meant to say is that the importers will have to instruct the refineries involved in the processing of the max. amount of sulphur that the can have in the finished products
Car TalkRe: Nigeria To Reduce Sulphur Content In Petrol, Diesel And Kerosene Effective July by klassd(m): 7:42am On Apr 16, 2017
Rilwan20:
But Nigerian Oil is considered to be sweet oil(sulphur free) then why this enforcement again? I think if we have been refining our oil in Nigeria there won't be need to be worried about the sulphur content in the oil. But when you have greedy, selfish and simpleton minded in the helm of affairs of a Nation, you shouldn't be expecting anything less.
Bonnylight crude. It theirs a possibility that the Nigerian crude oil is mixed with others during the process of refining

freeze001:
How is this going to happen? Will d directive be implemented at the point if import or are we going to re-refine imported petroleum products before sale?

This would have been easier if this dead zine had got its act right enough to ensure sufficient domestic production of petroleum products but since import the powers that be are in love with detrimental imports...

We shall see how it happens.
Dear its very simple, all they will do is issue the producing the new specification of oil and the process will be optimized.
Car TalkRe: Nigeria To Reduce Sulphur Content In Petrol, Diesel And Kerosene Effective July by klassd(m): 7:39am On Apr 16, 2017
Removal of sulphur otherwise known as de-sweetning process. Its a good idea too much sulphur is useless.
