cheesy

Okay...

I didn't know who Ola of Lagos was so I had to google him. I heard of saida boj for the first time a couple of days ago... and I still don't know who Needy is. cheesy

But this country needs more (high productivity) farmers, more (highly trained) healthcare workers and more (highly skilled) technicians. We need far fewer 'influencers', 'content creators' and you guessed it, 'ballers'. grin
Don’t u Nedu of the Hornest Bunch, podcast has been doing skits for about 6 years now as sexy Alhaji.

Nigeria has never even been a 500 billion dollar economy even during the PDP years. 1.5 trillion dollars. Keep on dreaming. By the time, tinubu is done with Nigeria. If our GDP is up to 150 billion usd, everyone should go for Thanksgiving.
There are a lot of new money in Nigeria. Young men that are property nagenets. People like Ola of Lagos, Sarah Boj, needy and co all this guys are balling and they did not exist in 2014.

cheesy 'Content creation'?

For some reason this term has always amused me.

Aren't we all 'content creators' in one form or another? Does content creation deserve a different classification from the entertainment industry?

Someone please educate me.
They are different. That is why we have people like Daddy freeze today. In 2014 Daddy freeze was working in a radio station getting some pathetic pay. But today he is driving a Ferrari, now multiply Daddy freeze X 1000 and do maths, Nigeria as a nation has the Largest Content Creators in Africa.

So you get it.

Another sector that has blown is the real estate industry, which with some disarable ways can be validated using stringent instruments would help in determining the true GDP of the country.

We have not added the new kid on the block. Content creators, Nigeria has the highest content creators in Africa and I am sure if the algorithm is properly quarried it would devolve how much our content creators are making in a year.

He is very stupid...does this look like bb1.5 trillion economy, if it was 1.5 trillion it will show in GDP per Capita which is not the case
It sure looks like it. The kind of money stolen in Nigeria any other country in Africa, Egypt, Algeria, or South Africa would have folded up. I believe our GDP is definitely above the so called 250 billion given to it.
PoliticsNigerian Economists Believe Our GDP Should Be about 1.5 Trillion Dollars??? by KnowAll(op):
A Nigerian economist believes our economy is actually the biggest economy in Africa and the indices used in calculating the GDP needs to rebased because of some obvious exclusions when calculating the size of our GDP.

He said apart from the fact that Nigerians in diaspora sends in $20billion every year the figure brought in by cash is probably twice the official $20billion more like $40 billion.

He now said in 2014 when our GDP was calculated there was no fintec companies. But today we have about 10 companies that has a capital base of $1 billion dollars.

Guys what do think, but one thing I noticed when travelling to Nigeria is the plane is always full of Nigerians going back despite the terrible economy. I once travelled to Namibia and the plane was 99% white. So I asked the person I was travelling with don’t your people travel home.

Most people keep on saying there is no tourist in Nigeria. Do you know who the tourist are in Nigeria. Nigerian Diaspora are the tourist in Nigeria.

Guys what do you think are we really a $1.5 trillion economy.

I would have thought Lagos state would be the first to provide electricity since it has moved from the exclusive list to the concurrent list. But as usual Sanyaolu na siddon look policy him dey do. So unconcerned, removed from the pains & agony of the people.

I said it b4 all Sanyaolu has done in his second term is Gallivanting all over d place.

Qatar does it . Why not Nigeria States do the same thing. The money Yaya bellow used to pay his children school fee, if he bought a property in the middle of London or New York, the rental income from that property going to Kogi state would go a long way in alleviating poverty in the state.

PoliticsPay 30,000.00 A Month And Another Hardship Allowance Of N360,000.00 Once A Year? by KnowAll(op): 9:45am On Jun 08, 2024
Instead of paying workers N60,000.00 monthly. Pay 30,000.00 a month provide cheap transport to carry workers to work and subsidised housing and reduce working days from 5 days a week to 4 days.

Then the other 30,000 would be paid once a year 30,000 X 12= 360,000.00 a year. This can be called hardship allowance. If our senators can get hardship allowance why not our workers.

The idea that a bag of rice is 70,000 and the proposed minimum rate cannot buy a bag of rice would not suffice since the other half of the 60,000 would be paid annually in bulk making it possible for workers to buy enough food in weeks and months ahead.

I think it will be a good idea if the 60,000 can be disbursed in such away.

The best tourist site destroyed yet the Government or even friends of the Government who are wealthy does not deem it fit to replicate Landmarks beach in other beaches in Lagos.

I am a firm believer if you destroy something, you must be bold enough to replace that you destroy with something even better rather than making the city’s wholesome tourist destination a severe deficit why not replace with something much disarable.

All these so called friends of the Governor who are billionaires can’t they think beyond their noses.

You destroy something good and nobody is doing anything to replace it with something better. Does not make sense to me.

Yet some of their idiots idea of fun is watching a European championship match far away Europe.

PoliticsRe: Give Labour 495,000 But Remove 3 Zeros From Naira Valuation??? by KnowAll(op): 9:50am On Jun 04, 2024
The Ghanaian economy got a boost once this policy was inaugurated. Nigeria should do same without thinking twice.
PoliticsGive Labour 495,000 But Remove 3 Zeros From Naira Valuation??? by KnowAll(op): 9:46am On Jun 04, 2024
So that 1000 Naira would now be N1.00 and 439,000 will now be 439.00 Naira.

Basically redomination of the Naira in line with some countries in Africa like Ghana and Zambia.

I think this strategy would reset and rejig the whole economy into a beginning. To be sincere, I saw how the Ghanaian economy transformed once they underwent redomination of the Cedis.

Tinubu should take the bull by the horn and redominate the Naira.

The illusion that a country’s currency is strong would ginger the economy. It has happened before.

I don't think you understand my post at all, because you are still repeating the same fault I pointed out in your previous posts. I was surprise as bold as you are to start this kind topic, you don't put into consideration an element of progression. When new state are created, where do the new administration develop first? The same logic should be apply to short life regionalism practice in the first Republic.

Let me analyse this in a lay man understanding. Nigeria was more or less an agrarian state those period, the main occupation of majority is farming, which made rural areas their preferred choices to live. We had very few educated people doing white kola jobs back them compare to now.

Nigeria was still a newly independent state, where premiers were trying to develop cities starting from regional executive base. You don't expect them to start developing every town or village at the same time. Aside that, majority were illiterates, who are mostly farmers or low level artisans. Development is process, if former western region could develop Ibadan within that short period, Imagine how many cities would've been
developed to high end standard today.
There was little or no development in any town outside Ibadan in those days. Look at my state Ondo state, when Miniko became Governor, he changed Ondo town to Ondo City by dualising the main roads entrying the city, notice this is not the capital. Because of that singular action real estate, businesses and hotels have open up in all those areas where the road was built.

Borrowing from Mimiko’s example, the next Government did the something in Owo town now Owo City, and I am sure the current Governor would do his own bit in Okutipupa in Ondo south. Basically those developments have pushed the state forward tremendously.

But if we are in still enmeshed in that hargemony called western state, I doubt if the level of development we experience today can be matched by one super emperor sitting in Ibadan.

The Igbo’s Benue would be added to neighbouring Igbo states. The idoma’s of Benue who has never been Governor in Benue should have their states while the tivs would in Benue plus all the tivs in Taraba and Nassarawa state included in that tiv state.

I support this.

Why should Oyo state be so big, that only Ibadan is developed, why should Bauchi or Borno be so big

Divide those states into 2 or 3 jare
And every ethinic group should have a state. For instance a state like Kogi an igala state should be created, that means igala’s in edo and Anambra state would be added to that state.

Why the igbirra’s can have their’s with headquarters in Okene and the joins would have Lokoja.
