how many people are you looking to invite and how much would it cost to organise a party for that number? |
well i'm just thinking about people in lagos and its environs. |
8 people have registered so far |
PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND YOU Project management in today’s Nigeria, has grown simultaneously with entrepreneurship, and birth, growth and sustainability of organizations. It is fast becoming one of the most sought-after workplace skills by corporate bodies and new emerging entrepreneurs. Businesses are becoming more project-focused and clamoring for discipline, standardization and effectiveness in the management of their projects. Corporate bodies and new entrepreneurs are conscious of the need to ensure that their businesses and investments continue to make profits and remain relevant to customer needs. On the other hand, there is an increasing awareness to not allow or to reduce the number of projects falling into troubled waters; on the contrary, there is wide scale consciousness to increase project profitability, timeliness and overall quality. Given advancements in communication technology, the world has become a small village, and more entrepreneurs in developing countries now have opportunities and access to novel trainings methods often found or limited to multi-billion dollar corporations in the west. Interestingly, more and more clients in developing countries are finding that the principles to success are basically the same, and it does not matter if the business initiative is in Nigeria, or in New York. |
To digress a bit, i've got an idea to throw a party for nairalanders and i'll like to bounce it off u. For a while I've followed a few posts where people where tryin to put together a party but i think they've always gone about it wrong. they never seem to have a concrete, workable plan and i think that people would respond better if there was pne. i realise how difficult it is to convince people to release cash so i'm thinking it shd be a tee-shirt party where funds for the gig come form d tee-shirt sales. I believe people might feel they are getting more value for their money as compared to having to pay for tickets only. A website wld be created for registration and to select d nairaland-branded shirt they want with the option of having their forum names behind. I'm targeting 500 people at per shirt @ N2500 - N4000 (nigerians love vip, so we'll have some limited vip shirts). funds wld be used to get a venue, Dj and Mc. Peeps get to buy their own drinks. Christmas is too close so we'll be looking at Jan/Feb. I also know for a fact that for nairaland to grow and capture the more attention, there needs to be substantial offline awareness and having the party with the shirts wld be fantastic PR. i think the key factor here is Seun's approval and support so i intend to run this by him soon. let me know if u've got any thots abt this p.s. wats wit d diva? |
cool. the office is about 24 sq meters. now as i stated earlier, we're a small business so just know now that we hav a very tight budget and might not do this till Jan/Feb. if its alright wit u u can come over and check out the place, we'll be grateful. i'm only goin to leave my address for a day or two before deleting it: 9, Akinhanmi st (beside AP filling station), off western ave. surulere |
they wouldn't dare here. the govt has always promised free health along with some other ludicrous things so over here people aren't ready to pay bills and this devalued the health sector which then gets worse and then people are even more reluctant to pay, a seriously vicious cycle. On other items like cars, house etc i've heard some good stuff about nigerian companies. I recently took up an insurance cover after years of contemplating the pros and cons. i shd mention that growing up in the environment that i did, kinda made u believe that having insurance showed lack of faith. the package is really cool cos its also a savings scheme and u can take out ur principal after a while. so that a bit of a relief. |
hi there, at d risk of sounding ignorant, is insurance mandatory in d US? i know that insurance cover for some things (like cars) are compulsory but what other items are compulsory. |
In answer to the questions in my mailbox: So far 5 nairalanders have registered Each seminar has a maximum of 50 participants for a total of 10 classes. Only one of these classes (50 participants) would be open to nairalanders and i suppose it would be scheduled for the middle of November. In my next few posts, i'll be talking about what you would gain and how your career would benefit from Project Management training. Later on i'll be providing information on companies who urgently require personnel Project Management skills. Later on we'll be looking at a few of the most prominent and recognised Project Management Training Centers in the country. So stay tuned "This is my little contribution to nairaland" |
how do u describe "da bomb" cake taste, icing taste, decoration? |

lol i giv up. no rules |
hear the insurance situation in the US is horrible saw reports on the California fires on how insurance fees have skyrocketed and even those that had insurance are been asked to pay up or be dropped. very sad, very annoying. and they say nigerians are fraudulent! |
hi ladies i'm single, handsome, rich and i know how to treat (and love) a lady. okay maybe i'm not so handsome but giv a brother a break, cant have it all now can i (all that talk about younger guy or not doesn't count now does it?) |
@ veracious and romeo you guys shd stop this public dissing it's ungentlemanly and definitely unladylike (or is their something we need to know) Look this is naija where we have to sit down and interpret the bible in view of our environment. obviously getting pregnant before marriage is not ideal but for the purpose of dicussion lets agree that some ladies hav joepardised their chances of getting pregnant. what then is a man supposed to do. oya kiss and make up (or even get pregnant) ![]() |
Not likely. Girls my age wld already have formed habits that are nearly impossible to change and i believe most naija babes would find it difficult to be influenced by guys their age. However love does mess up principles and philosophies don't it. |
Dude we all understand that people lie for various reasons, and as one poster pointed out, she might have just been insecure. the only issue here is how do u know if there are other things she's lied about.think u both should sit down hav a long chat. so here's to starting all over. who knows the truth may even bring u two closer. cheers |
Hi there just thot to share this info with y'all. ============================================================================================================= Project Management is the 4th most valuable certification in the world. A leading project management training institute is considering organising a series of FREE project management seminars from November for 500 participants only. All participants must have had experience working on projects for their organisations. Working in the operations department of your organisation is a plus. Participants stand the a chance to win a scholarship and discounts on the Project Management Training required to become a PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM (Certified Assistant Project Manager). In addition all attendees get a certificate of attendance. ============================================================================================================= I'll like to know if nairalanders are interested so i could convince them to add you to their list even if you don't have the necessary qualifications. Want more details? just send an email to knzguru@yahoo.com and i'll reply with all the details though i'll only be responding via this forum. Though SEUN does NOT know about the seminar, he knows about me, so you can always check with him. Good luck! |

business venture: pure water sales target market: lagos metropol commuters strategy: street sales time frame:2 days expenses: 10 bags (200 satchets) - N500 feeding - N200 revenue: N1000 profit: N800 |
Have you ever thot about how u'd go about making your first million. Well here's your chance to do just that - virtually. ok here's how the game works. We start with a sum of money (say N500) which you would use to buy sell or trade and generate a profit (say N50). the next poster would start with the N150 and generate more profit to be used by the next poster and so on, when we reach N1,000,000 only 20% profits would be allowed when we reach N10,000,000 we start all over again RULES: 1 u must state business venture, target market, strategy, expenses, profit and time frame 2 if u think the poster above you has stated unrealsitic results just disregard the post and start from the poster before him. as a business consultant i'll be watching the posts as well to alert you on which posts to ignore so r u ready to make your first million? lets's go, |
@ Seun Think PR. i think you should try getting media attention. it doesn't necessarily have to cost you a dime. the long awaited nairaland "tee-shirt" party would definitely help create awareness for the forum (dont worry this is the last time i'll mention the party) on a different note, is nairaland open to advertisement and though this could generate income for you to hire assistants with, i'm asking for my own reasons. p.s. why do i have this strange feeling ur just sampling peoples opinions. u dont come thru as some1 who gets easily discouraged |
