arsetalks: Since you want to form knowledgeable, can you tell us what part of the journalism ethnics/code of conduct this is written in?
So a journalist must take permission before he takes pictures of a public person like GEJ? It is not as if he took GEJ's picture in the bathroom? To your last question,YES. He was on GEJ's private property. He's also a private citizens now, to some extent. Remember that GEJ was not yet home at that time. On your question about journalism ethics/codes, it is an unwritten code. You have the right to respect the right of others. Or as usually said, don't infringe on the right of others. Its totally unethical to get to a place and begin to take pictures anyhow without permission. Being a journalist does not turn you to a bully. ACTUALLY, IT IS COMMON SENSE to ask, though that may not be common to all. I am the person who usually grant such permission in my place of work, otherwise such a one would be thrown out. All I have said is about the attitude of the reporter and have nothing to do with GEJ or party or politics. |

9jatatafo: But he has been paying the marketers before now. Anyway, can you give me proper explanation about the root cause of this nagging and painful fuel scarcity? Thanks The root cause is the greed of the marketers and ppoliticians. They plan to disgrace GEJ forgeting that the man won't suffer any bit of the harm. I got the gist from inside source before they were settled later on. You can see what happened after they were settled. |

The only solution to this imbroglio is to shut down the nation. Let everyone stay at home and we will see if the marketers will drink the fuel they have stocked cheaply and selling at exhorbitant prices. |

I just imagine how people will manage to get to work 2moro. There is nothing NLC will do. They are part of the system. The scarcity is artificial and supported by capitalist greed. I got the info some weeks back that the importers wanted to shame GEJ. What a country. As of GEJ could care less. |

When human beings want to do want they want and be irressponsible, they allow the thought 'did God say...'. They forget that its an old trick of the deceiver.
It's funny how many people want God to spell out whether they should pee or not use the toilet. One thing is certain that even nature teaches a lot of proper behaviour and attitudes which we would do well to observe and adhere. Is it every plant you can eat?
Bottom line, IMO is that do what you want if your heart does not condemn you. But if you sense a tinge of condemnation, you have sentenced yourself if you do it. You want to smoke weed, go ahead and smoke it but stop saying the bible did not say so.
Everything God has made is good and to be received with thanksgiving. So make your choice. |

The only term that could be contentious is that of collecting hand-over notes from ministries and parastatals. (IMO)
I suppose those should be part of the hand-over notes of the incubent govt.
Otherwise I think the terms are ok, especially since we are looking at governance at the national level.
Please just simply put me right if I am wrong.
In another point of view, these terms of reference seems to justify the idea of handing over on the 28th, particularly the handing over notes. The truth is that the 29th is simply ceremonial and symbolic.
But then, there wouldn't be time for analysing the notes before the incoming govt takes over.
I suppose both sides should just follow existing protocol of handover, which I believe should be clear. |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Startimes Slashes Bouquet Prices by Kobeje(m): 5:44pm On Apr 17, 2015 |
droopyd: Op, your post is highly misleading, Startimes have in fact increased their subscription rates. This is from their website:
By May 1, we will launch new interesting channels and will update the existing bouquets with these channels. They are AMC Series, Iroko Play, Iroko Plus and ST Zone. AMC movies and Wap TV will then move to Basic bouquet; Classic bouquet will have Iroko Play and AMC series, Iroko Plus will also be introduced into Unique bouquet while other new channels will be available on all bouquets. While, the new bouquet price will be N1200 for Basic, N2400 for Classic and N3600 for Unique bouquet, which will be effective from April 18
The Subscription that was reduced is that of Starsat (I'm guessing due to low patronage):
We would also like to introduce Startimes satellite TV to you, which has 100+ channels with HD decoder and more local contents. We also have a Nova bouquet on Startimes satellite TV, which has 35+ channels and cost only N600, the Smart bouquet with 85+ channels will be reduced from N3000 to N1800, for Super bouquet you only need to pay N3600 to enjoy 117+ channels which is N4500 before. What an amazing reward? This adjustment will be effective from May 1.

Evacuation aside, NIGERIA AS A NATION SHOULD HAVE WAYS OF GETTING BACK AT THESE COUNTRIES THAT TREAT US ANYHOW ECONOMICALLY AND ANY OTHER WAY WE CAN.
WHEN WE DO THIS ONCE OR TWICE, THEY WOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE TRYING SUCH NONSENSE TO OUR CITIZENS.
OUR GOVERNMENT MUST UNDERSTAND THAT TO DISRESPECF A NIGERIAN IS TO DISRESPECT THE NATION AS WHOLE.
THIS I HOPE WOULD NOT BE A GREAT STRUGGLE FOR OUR GOVERNMENT ANYMORE BECAUSE THEIR GREED AND SUBSEQUENT NEGLEGENCE IS AT THE ROOT OF ALL THESE. |

I'm absolutely nonpartisan but the truth be told, its the very calm manner that GEJ took his defeat that is still sending shivers down the spine of many. In a sense GEJ is right,He lives power on the 28th of May,While 29th serves as a day of celebration of a new dispensation.hope u can fathom my point of view. If he wanted to undertake any violent action against GMB,Orubebe handed him such opportunity but he decline.if you get my drift.GEJ is a man of peace.APC/GMB are only scared of military coup because of GMB past. A man who possesses so much power chose inaction even when treated unfairly can be very destabilizing to his opponents as the thought of his true intents can wreck havoc on them. Add to that the higher percentage of PVC collection in a particular region, ditto for areas affected by insurgency.
We seemed to be blinded by the need for 'change' and to vote out pdp such that we overlooked these issues.

Compare and contrast for those of u who are asking why APC has refused to congratulate PDP in Rivers State You mean to say there were no rigging in those states won by apc? I beg to differ. Both APC and PDP rigged for sure. So APC should be manly enough to accept where their rigging failed. Be sure that GEJ had already set the pattern for PDP response to defeats. |
