As a 1st timer to America, my question is that, wouldn't it be an issue when I get to New York, and at the point of entry, I'm asked why did I fly directly to New york and not Baltimore as I said during the interview.

Please advice a brother.

It won't be an issue. when I applied,I said I was heading to new York, but ended up going to Houston and no questions were asked at poe and I have been to Houston twice and even had my visa renewed without smelling new york,which was my initial answer to destination .

The invitation letter and maybe proof of the kind of job being done by the invitee,most cases they won't even look at your bank account details,all you need do is answer the questions while looking straight at your interviewer in the eyes. But for me I might suggest you go alone first and wen given,start the process for other members of your family,that was how we went through ours and we all got our visas,pls book your appointment in Abuja,they are more lenient than Lagos.
