so if osimhen happen to be your younger brother u go advise to turn down the Saudi offer and move to chelsea?😏😊
When I had my NYSC then,State government paid Corp members posted to state ministries 5k each monthly apart from NYSC allowance but NYSC members posted to Federal Government ministries, agencies and parastatals are not eligible

This made some corp members to move from federal to state, guess what I remained with federal and retained after the service. My two colleagues that moved from federal to state cried hearing that I was retained.

If am Osimhen brother i will tell him to remain in Europe cuz its the only place he can get the needed pedigree, nobody will compare Osimhen of Saudi league with Haaland and Mbappe who are doing it in Europe.

Mybettingtips:

It’s annoying reading what supposed learned football analysts are typing here. They want Osimhen to pick Saudi Arabia this early in his career. Boy is just 25 years old, he has long career to build in Europe. There’s epl, FA Cup, champions league to compete for. Big money leagues would spring up and come for him in the next 7-10 years when he’s done with Europe. Guys here are talking as if Osimhen is being paid peanut in Europe. He’s earning 240k or so in Napoli, Osimhen is not poor.

Chelsea offered Palmer and Jackson new contracts after just a year with bigger wages. They will give Osimhen a better contract if he decides to sign for them. He’s too young to move to Saudi League. Europe is where you make a name for yourself.
Going to Saudi Arabia will reduce his rating drastically but really surprised seeing us shifting the goal posts on Osimhen with some citing the big money in Saudi league, forgetting that Osimhen won Apoty and rated best 8 was solely on his performance in seria A.A top rated player at 25 going to Saudi to do what,Vinicius rejected Saudi, even old Lukaku said NO to Saudi money…..Ekong moved to Saudi is understandable.Osimhen need European football to be counted as one of the best.

Osimhen in Saudi league?Osimhen at his age and level is not made for Saudi league, even Lukaku rejected Saudi last season, everything is not about money.Osimhen in the next five years will still make good retirement money in the same Saudi league.

End bad government should start from individuals states but many leave their states corrupt governors and keep on attacking and wasting their times on already rotten central government that has been in mess since Buhari military dictatorship government took over from Shagari…..a coup that came into existence was to deny Alex Ekwueme a southerner from taking over after Shagari tenure.

Succession military governments of Babangida,Abacha and later Abdulsalam were used to propagate a lot of terrible agendas like getting oil blocks and made many northerners stronger but today what we are having now is southerners fighting themselves just cuz of presidential election result and forget the political history of the country.

It’s a pity some forget that we cannot achieve any revolutionary ideas fighting just federal government, reason why last protest failed, leaving the state governors who are real rogues……real revolution should start from states and let us see maybe thieving politicians in occupied positions in the central government will not run for cover.

Blame Peseiro for that,do you know how many of our players that Afcon injuries nearly killed their season…..Osimhen,Aina,Sanusi,Onyeka,Ekong were overused despite getting knocks.

@thanks very much @TheSuperNerd, this your suggestion is great. You are one of the great people pushing this thread forward.
I leave it to you people to decide and workout the best ways to go about it. The thread should decide on the 3 nominees and provide an account to me to transfer the money even tomorrow.
I also buy the idea of 20k, to buy data for those doing the compilation.
NB. It will be an annual award but might not be the same subject matter. Next year might be '' the most detribalized and well-behaved" monikers... For instance, someone like @theGoodjoe ( bluefont warrior), never gets angry or insultive irrespective of the provocations.

Like l said, whatever the thread decides, we go with it and the award is available even now.

I appreciate you for taking this bold step to put anything tribal into bud here but with comments coming up regarding the gifts I will advise you to stop it.

I would suggest a monetary gifts to most intelligent individuals regarding analytical of the games and personalities who never take offense even if they are pushing to the wall in respect of insults.

Giving monetary gifts would never stop tribalism but there are ways to stop it by just ignoring such comments

Oga lelion is an advice

Yeah, I actually saw the original post on Facebook but had to update it to include players of the 90s and 2000s.

Kudos to Ernest Okonkwo for pioneering nicknaming of Nigerian players, but my point is that nicknaming still continued after Ernest Okonkwo was gone. People like Larry Echiejile later Isamuje, Bimbo Adeola, Akinloye Oyebanjo and co also continued the tradition.

For the 90s asides the ones you mentioned there were still some other popular ones like: The Head master (Adepoju), The bull (Amokachi), Gentle Giant (Okechukwu), Okada (Tijani), Serezo (Eguavoen), even Peter Rufai was nicknamed Dodo Mayana by the 90s commentators. It was Larry that nicknamed Finidi Finito and the name stuck. "The one I call Finito"! (In Larry's voice grin)
There was even one guy called Benjamin Chukwuka Onwuachi that during an interview with Larry, his father called him "investment" and Larry picked it up as a nickname and started calling him "Investment" grin

My best memories of Ernest Okonkwo were at the 1987 FIFA U17, 1989 FIFA U17 and U20. I think he also ran commentaries at the Algiers 90 AFCON before he passed on.
NTA commentaries have never remained the same.
Peter Rufai got the name Dodo Mayana during 1982 Afcon in Libya and it was given to him by fans during training….Dodo meant SWEET and Mayana TOMORROW…Ernest gave Mutiu Adepoju headmaster…Eguavoen Cerezo was in the late 80s.

My point given Nigeria players nicknames in a stylish way dies with Ernest Okonkwo,am not disputing others but guess what none of them got closest to Ernest Okonkwo.

Check it out Rufai explained how he got Dodo Mayana

Elder, you are obsessed with the past and have exaggerated nostalgic ratings of the 80's and 90's commentators/sports anchors.

I do not think the nicknames given to Nigerian players by Ernest Okonkwo reflected his intelligence.

I'll opine that it was due to patriotism and nationalistic fervour, and were an exaggeration and overhype of the players talent and football abilities.

Yes I love the past cuz I was part of it and thank God am seeing the present which I thought should be the best but till date we are finding it difficult to surpass the past.

Pls I want you to single out any present Nigeria commentator and compare him to Ernest Okonkwo, apart from nicknaming the man was good oga Semi.

Larry Izamoje (long before Brilafm) and Bimbo Akintola had a lot do with those late 80s and 90s sobriquet! They took over from Ernest, I believe!
Larry came in the 90s through his powerful morning sports Radio program but we have good commentators like Yinka Craig,Fabio Olanipekun,Hameed Adio,Modele Sharafa Yusuf,Mitchele Obi who did well giving these guys names in the 90s but no one near Ernest Okonkwo who even gave some players nicknames watching NPFL,just check those nicknames you see real intellect in Ernest Okonkwo

Yes agreed but according to the list you posted he gave out 87% of those nicknames. Some names in the 90s were not well known to fans except JayJay,Papilo,Aghawonder and Prince of Monaco…I can tell you that average football fans don’t know Taribo,John Utaka and Amunike nicknames,so I gave it to Ernest Okonkwo……the post was made on FB to celebrate legendary Ernest Okonkwo who dead in 1990 after Algier 90

Football has changed and learning how to dominate play with good possession is what brings long term success.
Did you see anyone talking about gidigbo football but talking about poor Chelsea management who are not ambitious like old Chelsea.

When I said old Chelsea I meant Chelsea that competed for EPL,FA,Champions league every year not this Chelsea, unless something changed this coming season I don’t want Osimhen in Chelsea based on what I saw last season.

Do you see anyone disputing your long term project but issue here you believe so much that long term project can only be successful with possessive football?
